No, PS1 games cause there are a lot I would recommend, like Megaman Legends 1 and 2, Legend of Dragoon, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil, Alundra 1 and 2, Ape Escape, Arc the Lad 1, 2, and 3, just to name a few.

The are majority of great classic games out there....really the recommendations are all up to what you like..if there's a specific genre you want to hit like RPGs or platorforms then it a lot easier to recommend and the the choices are more clear ( also wor of advice; dont go on spending frenzy because you have a credit card...doing that could get you in trouble in the future, just sayin ^_^;)

If you wish to purchase games legally, I highly suggest finding out which games on your list are available on Virtual Console for two reasons.
1: Buying used games does not support the developers, and thus, will not go towards potential sequel development.
2: It's far too easy for people to make bootleg cartridges and rip you off. I got my GBA copy of MMZ2 from Ebay, and it turned out to be bootleg, so it doesn't work very well.
EDIT: Okay, I see what you're doing here. Anyway, I'll post my recommendations as well as let you know which are available on VC.
Super Metroid (SNES/VC)
Metroid Zero Mission (GBA)
Metroid Fusion (GBA/3DSVC)
Pretty much any Super Mario Bros game out there (Most are on VC).
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES/GBA/VC)
Legend of Zelda: The Minsh Cap (GBA/3DSVC)
Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, & 3 (SNES/VC)
Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers (NES)
Will continue later.

Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Jesus loves you!
How long will it take to find a way out?
But she never lost her way, and made herself to home.

elrey is right. I wouldn't really advise going on a spree, buying too many rare and expensive games so soon. Remember, the more money on a credit card, the more the interest charges will be! Although I like to collect too, but haven't used my credit card for games, I have a few to suggest. To help us choose games you're interested in better, what kind of genres are you seeking?
Here is my current list of SNES targets
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 3
Super Mario World 2
Super Metroid
Metal Warriors
Ninja Warriors
Wild Guns
Castlevania 4
The Peace Keepers
Demon's Crest
Sparkster
Sunset Riders
Hagane
Secret of Mana
A couple for Genesis would be Ristar, Dynamite Headdy, Comix Zone, Vector Man, Sparkster (Rocket Knight 2).....
EDIT: Also might as well throw up my current NES targets
Shatterhand
Castlevania 2
Rygar
Metal Storm
Gargoyle's Quest 2
Contra
Contra Force
Life Force
Bionic Commando
Little Samson
