Kind of spoiler alert, but not really. I don't spoil anything.

I am aware of the thread that already exists, but this thread is only about Mass Effect 3 and the free DLC that was released a couple weeks ago that fixed the endings.

My thoughts on the original endings:

Mass Effect 3 has a very good story with tons of good moments. However the endings didn't come anywhere near the quality of the rest of the game. They were underdeveloped and pretty much indistinguishable aside from color (really) and other very minor changes. They all ended the same way, and you could never see what happens to the galaxy or your squadmates after the ending. Not to mention they were riddled with plot holes and other unexplained occurrences making them very disappointing compared to literally everything else in all three games. It felt like I hadn't truly reached the ending to the Mass Effect series and that there was something missing.

Then the Extended Cut came along.

Much. MUCH better. Not only are are the endings actually different with plenty more cutscenes showing how certain things happened, they're more fleshed out and make a lot more sense now. Plus, your actions in the game actually do modify the endings in certain ways.

When I beat Mass Effect 3 last night with those added scenes and dialogue options I felt like I had finally reached the Mass Effect ending I was waiting for all this time. I had finally truly beat the Mass Effect trilogy.

And now Mass Effect 3 is a satisfying experience ALL the way through, and is now a finished game.

There's people out there that still don't like the endings despite all of the extra scenes, but I was totally satisfied. How about you?

Had to go through the first playthrough before I downloaded the Extended Cut. Was dead inside for a while, considering I chose the Synthesis Ending. Then I downloaded the Extended Cut later and I started a new playthrough.

What really bothered me was the fact that my EMS barely rose, and that was because I couldn't increase it with galactic readiness/online multiplayer because of Origin's stupid online pass system, seeing as how I bought it used from Amazon.

Synthesis is a lot better now. I haven't tried the other endings yet though. Here's how it is for me:

Axel-Synthesis (canon male Shepard)
Shawna-Destruction (canon female Shepard)
Rachel-Control
Faer-Refusal

I thought the new endings were a major improvement though i still haven't seen all of them. I have only seen destruction and the one whereyou don't use the Cruciable.

I heard that you get a gameover if you choose Refusal. Is that true? I don't want to look anything up because of possible spoilers.

yeah you pretty much lose if you chose that one but it was a nice touch that they added that though.
