If you want to make a true and detailed game, use a true programming language (choose what you want: C, C++, Python, Ja...i hate java xD). I'm doing a game with GM8 and I don't have problems.

This right here.
Game Maker can only do so much on its own, and its best suited for people who are beginners in the game designing world. MMF2 on the other hand can be a bit more complicated to someone who's just starting, but the possibilities are endless and its best suited for long projects.

game maker is so limited
Game maker is actually extremely unlimited. You can actually make a 3D game in Game Maker, which is impossible in MMF2. However, Game Maker is a lot harder to learn, and its tool sets are very frustrating. MMF2 is fast and easy to start with, but you'll undoubtedly confront obstacles such as limitation and glitches later on. Making a game isn't an easy task. It's not even a hard task, it's an extremely difficult task. This is why even in commercial games, there are garbage. If you're just starting out on game development, then I'd recommend MMF2, as you would be less likely to pull your hair out and give up.

Wrong, you CAN make a 3d game in mmf2.
@viral They are both great for making games, HOWEVER, game maker has a larger comunity than mmf2, and its easier to find an engine, or find help. Multimedia fusion has a much smaller comunity, and you have to learn by yourself most of the time.
