Question and possible spoilers here: at the end of the trailer Lords of Shadow 2, I assume that's Trevor Belmont in the green but now with white hair (possibly due to age)? Because ya know the shoulder padded armor and gauntlets does look very similar from the Nintendo article.

Would have been interesting if it was Leon. Would even be interesting if 'Sonya' or 'Christopher' make some form of cameo's. Due to being some of the earliest Belmonts. Though I must say, I love the fact that a Belmont is whom the entire Belmont clan is fighting against.

Though I wonder. Did Gabriel ascend, leaving his body to become this 'Dracula'? Or was his ascension denied?

None of the above, he took all of Laura's blood in order to become a Vampire, since normal Humans could not enter the realm where The Forgotten One was sealed in.

he was conflicted over the events that transpired, mainly that he was his wife's and Claudia's killer, and yet was not able to bring Marie back, that the whole prophecy was one big lie, one big farce which accomplished nothing, since it was all one big plot by just one of the Lords, And then confronted with the knowledge that in killing the Lords he weakened their seal over a powerful Demon sealed in another dimension, he was already teetering on the edge. Becoming a vampire cost him his Humanity, his remorse, and changed him. He became ruthless and lost his last shreds of pity. He defeated Satan and thus he, by his own narration, had become "The Dragon". (EG he felt himself superior to even Satan) He mercilessly killed TFO, and absorbed it's power. He destroyed the Combat Cross and left it in that realm. And from there, became who we see in this trailer. Carmilla's prediction came true, he did become like the Lords of Shadow.

As far as Mirror of Fate goes, Trevor is basically sent to reclaim his family's Honor by defeating Gabriel. Given the explanations given in NP, thats where it is rumored that he will become Alucard. Because of the Mirror McGuffin showing fates or something.

Ah, I forgot about that 'Resurrection' portion of the plot. Interesting he became like them while not loosing his other side (like the others did before him). Which is interesting as he became dark with such still intact.

Though I must say, Trevor becoming Alucard is another version of the 'Where Alucard came from' I've heard of. Still interesting.

Trevor becoming Alucard? No. Don't forget they were both originally in the same game Castlevania III: Dracula's curse. If Trevor became Alucard, I'd give up on the series entirely. Quite honestly, I don't like the LoS story becoming cannon. Alucard and Trevor being brothers, Dracula being a Belmont, Soma apparently being half-Belmont. I don't like it. They changed too much too fast. Everything long-time fans had knew about the series is a lie. And that's me being nice about it. Quite honestly it pisses me off. It's kinda the equivalent of if Sigma was also made by Doctor Light and X and Zero were brothers.

Konami has no problem retconning Castlevania games. With Castlevania Adventure with Christopher Belmont being the first, then Sonya would have been (if they did Castlevania Resurrection) and she would have birthed Alucard, then Leon whose wife becomes the bane within the Vampire Killer (or something like that), and now Gabriel. Though I must say, I do like the LoS story, especially where the Brotherhood members 'ascend' leaving their bodies behind to become consumed by what is left: their darker side.

and I dont think you know what that word means... LoS is part of the CV canon. just like every other CV game. EVERY other. even the retconned games.
a canon is a body of works pertaining to a certain subject.

however, as to what i assume you meant, it isnt replacing the old timeline, you know... this is a reboot, but by Dave Cox's own admission it is more like the Marvel Ultimates line. IE, it doesnt change anything already established, it's just an alternate take. An alternate timeline. the same way Battle Network is an alternate universe to the Classic->Legends timeline.

no it isnt.

people need to get the fucl over themselves and realize this DOES NOT retcon anything from the established timeline. it is a reboot alternate universe. I still recall the old timeline. I still play symphony and CV3. they still happened, and their timeline still exists. LoS does not infringe upon it in the way that say, Maverick Hunter X- replaces X1.

She was in Castlevania Legends for the gameboy. she was the first Belmont until IGA retconned her with Leon, and instead made Trevor the first to defeat Dracula.

She would have birthed Trevor with Alucard as the father, thus linking the Belmonts and the Tepes by blood. leon and sarah have nothing to do with Sonia and CV legends.

Leon was her replacement as first Belmont, with his betrothed Sarah, sacrificing her tainted soul after being bitten, to fuse it with the Whip of Alchemy, creating Vampire killer

I don't recall saying LoS is a retcon. Pretty sure what I said of Konami retconning them is fact that they have done so thru the entire timeline. That was NOT towards LoS. Especially since I enjoy it's iteration for Dracula's foundation. Though, didn't Curse of Darkness shed a little insight on Trevor?

Just learned that Mirror of Fate will be 2.5D (well, it is said to be 2D in stereoscopic 3D).

Yay or Nay? Personally I like 2D and 3D (just depends, you know?).
