Posts I've Made
23 May 2013 - 11:22 AMYikes.
It was apparent before, but listening to the statements from Rycov and Signas hit it further home that the threats involving Sigma and Ordarium were very clear and present dangers. During their speeches, Major Gold swept his vision across the room to gauge the reactions from the troops, and found that many of them had visually evident emotional baggage that had been with them for some time, brought to the surface at the mere mention of the names of Sigma, Redips, or Liaf. Yes, it would seem many of these individuals had personal scores to settle, or a black history that scars them to the day. He knew what it meant when someone grimaced or clenched their fists at a persistent recollection; he's seen it many times worn like a badge on his own personnel. He only hoped their inner wars wouldn't clash with their better judgement when the time came to make choices.
At one of the operator consoles tucked away in a corner of the room, the entire briefing was being recorded not only for reference, but for the historical archives. This was a monumental collaboration that would paint a major stroke in the pages of history; something to look back on to not only captivate but motivate those that could come to learn from this occasion. That is, if everything went to plan and there were those left afterwards that can look back to take advantage of the document.
Gold felt that Rycov's and Signas' words were well chosen, and he agreed with the idea of splitting the factions into sections that can tackle different assignments. He didn't like the idea of subjecting his airmen and airwomen to areas where they can potentially get infected with Ordarium, but in order to do what must be done and investigate the substance he knew it was unavoidable. He had several squadrons of stealth-based units that suit this role somewhat. The other roles, that is support, combat, locale security... These are areas he was more confident in. These things his units have done before, but this Ordarium mess.... This was a whole new kettle of fish, and he hated the stink of it.
The tallish Major let the sobering words of Signas and Rycov hang in the air for a minute before he took point to address the assembly. His faceplate features didn't do much telling into his emotion, but when he spoke one could detect he was taking all that has been discussed very seriously. He stood rigidly and faced the crowd, the big screens to his back.
"Well warned, Commander. When we investigate this energy source we can put forth to find ways to reverse it's reconfiguration effects, and perhaps learn to harness it as a boon to the world without the threat of Reploids or other mechanical beings being corrupted. Let's use that as a motivator to see this aspect of the mission through."
Gold locked his hands behind him for the next segment. "I concur with the reasoning to split our forces into distinguished units to address different objectives. Smaller, more focused squadrons will have an easier time penetrating defenses and completing individual missions, while larger groups can supply back up resources and work on providing manpower if and or when a major scale conflict breaks out. I think it's clear we all want to try and avoid such an occurrence, but with the resources we have pooled here it is all good in knowing that if it comes to that we won't necessarily have our backs up against a wall."
"General Rycov, your Navy and Army will be a huge asset for this Alliance. Having access to your vessels will be especially important once our troops move out to sea and are on the shores of New Hera, or anywhere else we may need a quick escape or support from the protection of deep water. In addition, the muscle from your Army will compliment the highly specialized skills of the Hunter forces nicely, and will no doubt prove to be invaluable when executing maneuvers and ascertaining mission priorities on land. Working together, we will exact justice for those who have been lost due to the viles of past dictatorship."
"From my standpoint, my units are already divided into squadrons according to role, so all that need be said to them is where to be sent, when, with whom, and to do what. Assuredly, they will work with Hunter and Federation to see our mission a success. Say the word, and their strengths are yours."
He walked off the center-point, contemplating certain squadrons to be used in certain scenarios. This wasn't the first time the Aquilo Project has formed with other military arms to make a force to be reckoned with.
OOC: Blleaaaarrgh, sorry guys. I had no idea what to say for this one. Brain refused to work here. Xl
25 April 2013 - 01:48 PMOOC: Now that the majority of everyone is together in the same spot, my responses are going to be brief until the action starts. I'm just waiting now for Axl to get repaired and this briefing to be done so we can all get to the grit of the next stage of this Arc.
Also, welcome Clo the Omega! Thank you for joining the fun! I know it's in the middle of a crazy event in the RP, but I hope you can find some enjoyment out of your time with us. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
[Primary Command Center]
Sweeping silence overtook the vast room as Signas dominated the stage. His words were spoken like a true leader's should; powerful, provocative, and demanding the utmost attention. He certainly rang true a seasoned Commander, and seeing him do what he did best was like watching a masterful artisan at work. His presence and carefully chosen verses were exuding confidence, and it spilled over onto at least some of those around him.
The Aquillo staff listened in carefully, watching with both ears sharp and eyes open, multitasking over their consoles with what else was going on elsewhere in the base. They let the information given from the Hunter Commander sink in and process, stirring in with the already heavy load of airbase operations. It was evident this was going to be no walk in the park for anyone. Even with these factions combined efforts, taking down Sigma, especially if his influence already has a foothold, was going to be a run for everyone's money. But perhaps Signas was correct in saying they can minimize the damage and prevent the worst from escalating. There are many minds at work here striding towards the same goals, surly that would provide them a leg up advantage.
Major Gold watched on in silence, standing with a block of operators behind him. Once Signas mentioned the losses caused by the Tsunami Hydra, Gold hung his head a little lower. He thought of his front line soldiers, the Avian units, and knew there would be more casualties before the conflict was put to rest. They were too giving, willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the whole, and while they are relatively easy units to replace, every one was a unique individual. For every unit they lost, they lost a history, a knowledge base, a personality. While there were others at the APB that thought as the Avians as simple tools to be utilized, Gold saw them as fellow Reploids to be cherished, and found comfort in their passions and spirit. He had little doubt, looking around the room and seeing the varied faces and expressions, that many others here likely thought the same about their own comrades.
As the briefing progressed, the APB operators patched the conference on to the other sections of the base, mostly over sound-only speakers. Everywhere in the great expanse of the base could the personnel hear what was being discussed and feel motivated -and maybe dread- by the upcoming missions. In every corner, people and machines temporarily stopped what they were doing (unless it was something dangerous that can go sideways in an instant of distraction like coordinating the trap landings of aircraft on the airstrips) to monitor the briefing, intent to learn just what the Canadian military has gotten itself into.
[Medical Bay A]
The medical droids under the charge of X and Axl watched as X was released and stood back as he strode by them towards the exit, the Legendary Reploid still an imposing figure even if unsure of himself. One droid peeled it's stare away and turned aside to attend to Axl as he stated he wanted to stay put until he was fixed.
"Acknowledged. We will permit you to hear the briefing from your cell, and will inform you once the New Generation doctor is here."
Metal fingers were a blur again as they got to work patching the briefing audio into Axl's cell, as well as making certain it was clear in the rest of the medical bay's speaker system. From where he was, Axl could make out every whisper in the Command Center.

Bluntcut watched Avian's body language, and read into her aggressive tone and could tell she touched a nerve by her forwardness towards Bane. She smiled, having observed a new quirk to her long time friend. This was something unusual in her time knowing the triple-ace. Never has she allowed someone to get close to her in any other way then in comradeship, always being straight-as-an-arrow focused on her job and mostly nothing else. There were exceptions, of course, like when she had the odd hour off duty, where she and Bluntcut would paint the town-like Sector R well red with their antics. But never, ever, has she gotten this misshapen over a man. She has had several opportunities in the past, even with a certain high profile individual, to establish a personal relationship, but has always turned it down in favor of her future career, even at the risk of her well-being. So what is it about this guy, this dark-garbed and blaze-eyed Reploid, that has snagged her so? Yes, Bane was very attractive to look at, but there had to be more to it then that. Bluntcut would try to probe into this when she could.
But for now, she surrendered, not wanting an all out brawl to break out in the halls of the dorms. She clearly didn't mind scrapping with a fellow Avian unit, but here was not the place or time, especially with what she assumed to be a Hunter in proximity. Throwing up her hands to head height palms forward, she stepped back from Bane, accepting his will to turn down her come-ons. Her smile remained though, and she glared at the smaller Avian unit out of the corner of her eye.
"All right, all right, you win. I'm not gonna probe, for now, but you and me, missy, are going to have a chat about this later, mark my- Oh! Look! The Command Center briefing is starting!"
Avian read the bigger gal like a book and understood her front was blown over. Damn it, she always did know me too well. She had better not go around spreading this to others, or it's going to come back to me, and I know I'm going to never hear the end of it then. Guy and Gold would have a few choice words with me too, I'm sure, not to mention... She blinked that thought away. There was nothing she could do about it for the time being, so she let the agitation and urge to kill die off from her systems. She didn't spare her bigger sister a sinister glare however as she strode up beside her to listen in on the briefing over the speaker system that hung overhead, a warning that the bigger female was acquainted with.
For the most part, aside from Juno and perhaps a few others hearing the briefing from the dorms, the two Avian units and the A-Rank Hunter were alone, as the majority of the others in the hallways cleared out once they heard the Command Center announcement. That was for the best, it was decided. The fewer eyes that saw the embarrassing display put on by Bluntcut the better.
11 April 2013 - 04:10 AMOOC: Thanks, OM, for informing me of Echo's situation. I guess we'll have to move on without her. And thanks to White Jet and Arby for their information too.
Going to be very hard for me to make a proper response since I don't know exactly who is at the Primary Command Center and what everyone has been doing, but I will note that I will be holding off on playing as Avian until Zeke comes back, since I'm trying to start a minor event with him. Let's see what else I can do in the meantime.....
[Primary Command Center]
Finally after what seemed a prolonged transition, the stage was set for the next phase of the Anti-Sigma plan to commence. All the chess pieces were in place and the board laid out. Once everyone was settled into a comfy nook where they could see all the projections on the major screens and the faces of the top brass, the next major briefing could begin.
Major Gold came into the Center with the Federation General, Rycov, and his Colonel, Reno, in tow a few minutes ago. Alia arrived shortly after. By this time, Douglas was already hard at work securing the new communications network that would help keep the goings on in the base from leaking to the outside world. A few other important players arrived to see the grand assembly of heavy hitters and thorough thinkers. There were a few words of introduction and then the air in the room was thick with anticipation and weary.
The APB active commander Major Gold started first out of courtesy. His green visor eye swept over the entire cast before him from one end of the room to the other, noting the varied forms and talents that would be put to arduous use in the coming hours. He stood tall with his hands locked behind him so his back was to the main monitor displaying the most substantial global locals vital to the upcoming mission and raised his voice to boom over the crowd.
"I welcome you all to the Aquillo Project Primary Command Center. I trust all of you have had ample time to situate yourselves within the accommodations set for you before coming here. You all appear well rested and able-bodied, a good prompt to proceed on as any."
There was a short pause to absorb the more serious nature of the assembly before the Major carried on.
"After the dire threat unearthed by the Maverick Hunters, we find ourselves here, united, striving towards a common goal that will benefit the welfare of the entire globe. I feel that under the present circumstances, we are the factions best prepared to handle the coming emergency, and all preparations that could be made to combat the threat have been or will be implemented. As of today, we stand together, as a forged Tri-Alliance, a sword thrust towards the arriving dragons of despair, and a shield held fast to protect the innocent. "
My axle, the Aquillo Project, will continue to lend our forces to aid in whatever theater demands it. Our airborne, and our units in Earth orbit, are known around the world for their proficiency and practicality. Our operators have a world-class response time and an excellent record, acting to adapt to any challenge that confronts them. To you, the Maverick Hunters, and to you, The Federation, my legions are at your disposal. In this, you can trust."
"Now, I will step down and permit the other leaders of this Tri-Alliance to say their piece and commence the briefing. Commander Signas, General Rycov, please take the stage at your preference."
Here, Gold stepped away from the primary monitor and stood aside, by one of his prime radar surveillance officers in a sectioned off nook. He looked onward towards the next to stand, beaming with pride that such forces as the Maverick Hunters and the Federation have agreed to take up temporary residence under his roof. He was very keen on hearing what plans were to be set forth by the brilliant minds of his new comrades.
[Medical Bay A]
Back at the pristine lab environment, while everyone was getting to where they needed to be, another test was performed on X and Axl in order to try and isolate the Ordarium. This test consisted of magnetic waves, trying to cling to the metallic nature of the nanobots to pry them away from vital body components, and, if successful, later to a plastic isolation container to be more properly analyzed if it could be extracted. Unfortunately, Ordarium proved to be more resilient then thought, and the magnetic properties of the tests had little to no effect on doing what was hoped. Furthermore, the magnetic waves were used at such a level and directed so precisely, as to not damage the internals of the Reploids they were inflicting.
The medical droids were pondering what the next action to take should be when they got the message from the Primary Command Center that the briefing was about to start. Further testing was put on hold and X was released, at his discretion, to meet with the others in the Command Center. Once Axl was repaired of his wounds and new armor plating donned, he was free to leave as well.
Kate was being looked at the best of the Infirmary's ability, but her cyborg systems are very unique and difficult to work around. Still, she was stabilized and her condition didn't worsen. She remained in stasis for the time being.
Helios was directed from the Infirmary to the Medical Bay where X and Axl were being held. Before either Helios and his escort (the IT maintenance engineer) could actually enter the lab, they needed to go through a sanitizer block to double check for outside-source contamination, and had to get a hold of Vincent to get the proper clearance codes. Just as Helios got to get a look at the lab and got a chance to discuss what has been done to the S-Rank Hunters in the lab with the droids, the message came through that the briefing was about to start. All the Hunters in the lab were released once they were ready to leave and given the OK head to the Command Center. The engineer would be all too happy to guide them there.
[All Dorm Blocks]
A message was relayed via the communications network that the briefing in the Primary Command Center was about to start. This message was heard by everyone in the Dorm Blocks, so anyone there could head to the briefing if they felt it necessary.
This includes Kazuo, Juno, Darkrider, Mikado, the Federation troops, Bane and Avian.
04 April 2013 - 03:54 PMOOC: Acknowledged, OM. It's unfortunate that it has to turn out that way, but I concur that the show must go on. Thank you for letting us all know your stance on this.
27 March 2013 - 01:20 PMOOC: Alright! This is good, things are getting resolved. Well done, all. Now we can move forward with our shenanigans.
Darkrider, since we have concluded that things will progress as normal until everyone that should be at the briefing is at the Primary Command Center, if you want to have your characters wander out and about you may. If you don't want to make any moves or need some input as to what your characters might get into on their wandering, let me know (preferably by PM) so I can edit this post and get this circus moving again.
I know I have a few things I want to get done with my characters before Avian gets sent on a mission, but maybe that won't be much of a problem seeing as all the top brass will be where they need to be and the most important players fort he upcoming mission can get on with it if she's not needed right away (and seeing as we're going to be talking about Sigma and Ordarium -I think, correct me if I'm wrong here Arby- she won't be of much use in the conversation anyhow). Just so you all know, Major Gold will be getting Rycov, his Colonel, in the Command Center in my next post, so we can get some more introductions out of the way and really get the ball rolling. Alia will be making it there too.
Arby, if it wouldn't trouble you, could you get Dr. Stratus to the IT Bay so we can get Axl and Chiba squared away too? Might give you something to do, if nothing else. Oh, I also wanted to ask you about how Ordarium would be affected by magnetic waves. My Medical droids were thinking about using them to try to isolate and direct the Ordarium to a less critical bodily junction so it can be studied and possibly extracted.
Lastly, White Jet, in regards to X's situation.... I apologize if I didn't make this clear enough already, but X is able to leave his capsule at any time he wants, all he has to do is say the word. No one at the base (at least when it comes to my chars) is about to outright stop (he might be held up a bit, but we'll see what happens) the most crucial component to stopping Sigma, so if he needs to leave the Medical Bay for the sake of ... well, anything really, he can. If you want, I can have it so the droids watching over him and Axl are informed of the briefing about to start and have them tell the S Ranks. I think they would be patched into the Command Center anyway becasue of the importance of X and Axl's status.
Okay, another note.... Has anyone heard from Echo Wyndre lately? I want to make sure we know where Re stands at the Command Center.
X Falcon A...
