My mini review: plot
What can I say, the plot in this game was well thought out. The villain was someone you could actually despise without feeling sympathetic towards them (unlike the previous two entries). The new characters have good back stories, and it's always interesting to find out what happens next. (Spoiler warning: I liked how Ace's "death" was handled, at least until the end, where you see him (at least, I think it's him) in a hospital room with no explanation as to how he survived. (note that I haven't gotten to the secret areas, so I don't know if they tell you anything there) I also like the fact that at the end, everyone actually does something to help you complete your mission and return safely. (as opposed to previous games where you magically get more power due to everyone cheering you on. :x1vilewut: ) Also, I think it's kind of cool that the game forces you to win with either Black Hole Galaxy or Red Gaia Eraser (fortunately, I don't think that you can go below 1 hp while the game does this, I'll have to test this some more to be sure) Oh, and Geo gets his dad back at the end. (hey, I warned you about spoilers, didn't I?) All I need to know now is if Kelvin ever returns to human form. (and how he does it, if he does))
Another nice little touch is the point in the story where something you did earlier influences the cutscene that you get afterward. (you'll know the point when you see it)
All in all, it was a great plot, and Geo never seemed emo to me at all, except at points where I probably would be too. Star Force 1 had the best plot, IMO, but Geo was a little too emo in that one, and all his "friends" were jerks at the beginning, except for Omega-Xis who was a slightly nicer jerk. (still awesome, though)
A couple of complaints I have are these, Omega-Xis being called "Mega" most of the time (or worse, "Meggers" :axlsweat: ) and "MegaMan" being spelled like "Mega Man." I just liked it the other way, since it kind of differentiated it from the Classic Mega Man, as well as X, Zero, and ZX. Oh, I also wish that they didn't put us in control of a 5th grader. You have a tendency to forget this fact during the game, but it's the principal of the thing. Of course, this doesn't have any effect on the gameplay, and thus it's a relatively minor complaint. (which my next review will probably be about)
Overall, plot = 8/10

In response to your spoiler: No. They never explain Ace's recovery. His data was probably scattered about like Luna's and Dr. Goodall put him in the chamber to rebuild him. As for Kelvin, I believe that Omega-Xis just turned him back to normal the same way he made him an EM being in the first place. Furthermore, there's all this talk about this game bringing closure to the series. This is not the case, as Omega-Xis is still with Geo. If Capcom wanted too, they could release more sequels. It's just not likely with the overall response to the series.
I personally liked this story the best out of the three. I liked how Geo actually had confidence, etc. How he FINALLY learned to be normal after two games. There were several times where Geo would have a "What am I fighting for?!" moment, but those situations were natural, like you said.
I actually liked this localization a LOT. English voice acting and the removal of CamelCaps. Yes, I said it. I like it better as "Mega Man" rather than "MegaMan." CamelCaps works better for the Net Navis, as they are programs. Geo and Omega-Xis are not. They're a human and energy being. And overall, I want consistency in the franchise. Changing the name like that doesn't differentiate a character that much. What differentiates it is the story, gameplay, setting, and the subtitle "Star Force."
I'm interested in your thoughts on gameplay, now.
