Excuse me? No need for the outright slander on me for having a preference on my gundam. I even said I respected his opinion of liking it in my own way. I also stated why I did not like, to show him that it wasn't for the main character. As well, no duh I don't know a thing about the units. What part of "I will not give the show a chance" did you not get? Im not interested in it. I don't like it. The Age just looks like the Strike. And later, the AGe 2 or 3, looks like the 00. It just seems like a lame design choice. Im sure if you like the show its cool and all, but I don't.

Im a UC kind of guy. I even branch out into Wing and Seed for cool units. Most of them were badass. I just don't like the design of AGE's units. Those dragonish units I just think are lame. Much like how I think BaCue's are lame. For the record I called said dragon units zeon'ish because there were mono-eyed and clearly the antagonistic units. Much like a Ginn, Dark Army, Zaku, and so forth.

So you're complaining the main Gundams resemble other Gundams? Uh... the Strike is just a rehash of the RX-78-2 like the AGE-1 is, but you don't seem to have a problem with it. And the AGE-2 is suppoed to be the Z, although the designer used a scrapped design they had created for the 00 Qan[T]. As for the AGE-3, it's based on the ZZ although it's original design has been altered.

But really? Your complaining because they look alike to others Gundams? Its not a lame choice at all since the POINT is to do that because the three generations in the show are meant to somewhat mirror 0079, Z and ZZ (although thats now how it turned out in the end with Gen 2 being more 0083-ish and 3 so far being more like Victory).

Also your ignorance of the show is showing - it has three main characters, not one. With the first being an old man by the latest arc. Of course this irrelevant since you said you had no plans to watch it, but it's still worth pointing out. Haven't you ever heard of the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover"?

Clearly you do not understand the concept of what I mean when I say I do not watch it. I do not, nor have I seen anything more than a trailer, for the series, Gundam AGE. I have no desire to see it. It is. I use to think SEED was the best thing sense sliced bread. Looking back and re-watching it, SEED was shit. Rehashed scenes, horrible writing, and a pansy main character. Kou Uraki had more balls than Kira.

Clearly you know not much of SEED. Look into it and you'll find out that Duel was intended to be the leader unit of the 5. Aegis was the mobility, Buster was the long range combat specialist, Blitz was the covert ops, and Strike was support where needed. Duel was the unit that could assist and function just about anywhere on a fair playing field. Sure the Aile Strike could too, but it also could back up Buster with the launcher pack or go in on a ship assault because heaven forbid the sword strike ever be shot.
Also, Duel had the neatest beam rifle. It had a missile on it. Practical? Naaa. Useful? Kinda. Cool? Yeah.

Or because its just not available to me. Unlike when I was younger, I don't have the time to sit down and watch a subed show. Even more so when its online only. And I don't feel like ordering it because Im just not that concerned with seeing it. If I could, I would. From what I can tell, Zaku's are in it, and the own because of the light armor not being able to stand up to ol fashion live ammunition.

Now now now... people need to stop bashing and respect each other of what they like and dont like...dot try to enforce you thoughts on someone else's throats and claim as you know what mecha as great and horrible. now for my Gundam craze which went away for a while, but it's coming back and better then ever.

I of course started with G-Gundam, and I loved it entirely. God/Burning was great and Sekiha Love-Love Tenkiohen is one best couple moves ever. I watched a little of Wing, but not enought to get a full grasp for it. Next are the SEED and SEED Destiny.. Yes, yes I know a MAJORITY of people dislike both if not Destiny more, but you know waht, I dont really Care, for me personally I really enjoyed it. could it have been better? God, yes..but you know what happened happened. And also I love the Designs of the Strike Freedom, Destiny and the Justice..no matter who says if they're blatant rip-offs or whatever reason you can throw rocks to bash them, they are nice and I love them(it's why I have MG sets of all 3 of them) Now Im not very knowledgeable in U.C era,but what can say is that one day I'll will watch for beginning to end and I know I'll enjoy them ( I really want to watch Unicorn, but I know I'll be pretty lost in the story .-.)

As Gundam put aside (and this may be just a little bit off topic) Another Mecha series that relates to Gundams to certain point are the Super Robot Wars Series (especially thier OG series). Im so addicted to thier games right now I love their designs and characters (Zengar Zombolt is full of win). The story is meh to a point but, the Over the top action makes it totally worth while.. (Real Men Ride Each Other for your information)

But yeah that's my stuff...hate me/like me whatever, don't call me a "true" mecha fan but I dont give two shits,I know what I like and there is nothing you can do about it.

I agree that the SEED designs are beyond awesome. I never liked Strike Freedom, but Freedom himself I thought looked Bitchtastic. And the Destiny was cool as it was what I think they should have done with the Strike. But then, they made a Heine Westenfluss custom version of it. I got the 144 scale one, because it came first and had all the cool do-dads to it like a CD and Art Book. Never did get the later released MG though. I figured I would just get the Destiny Extreme Burst in due time and paint it. My 'to build' pile is just a bit heavy right now.

Oh, for those that care, I am working on my next model. I got a 1/100 Resin kit of the Masuro


thats the plan. Going to get some overflag decals blown up to 1/100 size and put some Union logo's on it as well as some small details. Its going to look sweet.

Do you air brush or hand paint? But yeah your color scheme is nice. Better than the common Wing units I see. I think it could use some panel lining, as well as some more colors or decals on the arms. But you did say it needed touch ups.

@Vile Hey that reminds me. You stated once in my Thread "Would you like to see Mega Man X characters as Gundam Models?" that you are making an X Custom model and a Vile Gyan Custom model. How are those two going? :D

But back to the topic. I guess I could respect Vile for not liking AGE. Some of my friends IRL don't like it somewhat.

Actually, AGE 1 is a homage to the RX-78-2 with it's plain and classic look. Some say the AGE 1 is the "Modern RX 78 2".
AGE 2 is a homage to the Zeta Gundam. Although it looks more like the 00 Raiser or Arios...
AGE 3 is a homage to the ZZ Gundam. I personally don't like this design at ALL.

Yeah, some designs were a bit off like the Titus and Spallow and the UE/Vagan suits. Some of them were really cartoony, but the designs have grown on me.

I don't like SEED OR SEED DESTINY. Poor character development, poor story and HUGE FLOODING of old scenes. The MS Designs were the only good thing about these series. And I'm glad Flay died. She was nothing but a piece of s#it.

Those two are on the back burner for now. The gyan I got was going to become Vile, but then I had another hit of inspiration and worked on it.

This is the so far. I should kept with the Vile idea because as fate would have it a few months into working on this unit and someone on a modeling site I go to was selling thee above unit's B-club discontinued resin kit. Needless to say I bought it. Though, I still plan to do the X one out of Gundam G04 (RX-78-4) and I'll just get another Gyan. Though I might do the Gyan in a 144 scale because I can get the cannon pack from a gelgoog much much easier that way. I'm not even sure if I still want to do Vile. I love him to death, but, to me he would be in the gundam, not a gundam himself.

I grew up with G gundam and Gundam Wing and I loved both of those series but my all time fav is Zeta Gundam. I love the UC mobile suits overall and Zeta Gundam has too many favorites in design and weaponry, man from the Waverider Crash which is single handedly my favorite attack in the franchise, plus I love the Zeta's design, to The O which was like the precursor to hidden weapons in gundam to the Qubeley which has those funnels (and a kicking color scheme), I love funnels, I could go on and on. It definitely has my favorite character in the franchise who is Kamille Bidan and was just really good even though it is arguably the darkest in the series (at least I think so, poor Four and Rosamia).
Also how is Turn A, is it a good series? I really am interested in this series and its one of the few that I haven't seen yet.

VileVIrus, me and you are going to be the best for friends. Zeta is also on my top lists of series that I liked. But for suit designs, I have to say the Titans had some, well, stupid looking suits. Such as the Balyant, I think is how its spelled, or the Bound Doc. However, out of the series I loved the Mark II(preferred Titan color scheme), GM Quail, Zeta, Palace Athene, The obvious Hyaku Shiki, Gaplant, and the first unit Scricco used.... Mesilia?

I agree Vile, we will be very good friends. I totally forgot about the Messala (that suit has an awesome MA form) and the Gaplant. Don't need to mention Hyaku Shiki for obvious reasons. I will say for the Titans suits the Psyco gundam(s) is an honorable mention. My UC Favorites hands down are the Nu (all variations), Sazabi (and Nightingale), ZZ and Zeta, GPO2A, Quin Mantha (favorite Mobile Armor), Hygogg (just like its strange yet unique design) and the Gouf (this is no Zaku my friend. it is one of my favorite grunt Mobile Suits and was i think the first MS to use a heat rod which transfered to the Gouf Ignited in Seed Destiny, that and I liked the concept of wrapping the foes and then slashing them or shooting them down)

How about the Huckebein Mechas from Super Robot Wars? As far as I know, that most of the Huckebeins were designed by the famed Hajime Katoki, who designed various Gundam mecha. The mass produced Huckebein Mk.II was designed however by Hitoshi Kamemaru.

I completely forgot about the Huckebein models, my personal favorite is RTX-008 Huckebein however I will openly say that I prefer the Grungust Mechs way more than the Huckebeins (no offense to anyone but outside of gundam, eureka seven and overman king gainer i'm a super robot fan)
