I'd bet if it DID happen, Axl would tease the shizz-nizz outta Zero.

So is it true that all Reploids are capable of falling in love with other Reploids? I wonder if it's possible for X.

Anyway, couple of helpful things to know around here. Asking for people to help you rank up is probably not the best way to go about ranking up. People will rank you up if they like what you have to say. Secondly, theoretical discussions are welcome here, but tread carefully when discussing bringing back long dead characters other than Vile, Sigma, or Gate. Vile and Sigma are okay because there's a precedent for it happening, and Gate's fine because he was only mostly dead at the end of X6, with X asking Alia if she could revive him. Anyone else tends to be subjected to "DNA resurrection is illegal/what's the point of bringing them back?" arguments.
That said, I would think Zero would either be overjoyed or he'd be suspicious that she wasn't the real deal (most likely the latter). As for Axl, I don't know. He probably wouldn't react too much seeing as how he's never really shown interest in anyone. The one time he thought Marino was checking him out, he was like, "oh, I can't have that, I'm on a mission right now!"

Well, Reploids have nearly the same emotional capacities as humans do, so I don't see why they couldn't, or ever fall in love with a human. (Cue old reploid from MMZ series. He even got remodeled to look old when his human hunny got old, and stayed that way in her memory. So cute. <3)

Yeah, that would have been really symbolic, but also really sad. I would prefer they didn't do that... it just seems disrespectful to her memory to have her image become integrated into someone's attack...

"Ware wa Zero! Irregular hunter Zero! Ware koso wa Iris no tsurugi nari!"
Yeah... yeah. I and my Super Robot Wars addiction with Sanger Zonvolt.^^;
Now seriously. Since DNA resurrection (Does it work like in movie "The fifth element"?) is illegal, there are two ways how Iris can return.
The first involves obviously the illegal DNA resurrection. Iris is made as a bait by the Big Bad to get Zero.
The bait is either brainwashed or from the start willing to bring down Zero. He might try to save or to retire her depending what happens.
The second way involves to reconstruct Iris from what is left from her. Her remains and her faulty control chip are salvaged by debrie collectors in space and brought back to earth to the scientists of the now disbanded Repliforce.
They use what is possible to reconstruct her from memories, up to the original programming from Iris, which was incompatible in the first place with Colonel's data.
The result may either be a amnestic Iris or an Iris with a different and new personality.
It depends on the story writer entirely how it will work out.
After years, I personaly long now for a Zero, who starts to open himself to others up and enjoys life itself. Some character development with a more positive view to the world is certainly benefictual to his character.
If a resurrected Iris is able to move Zero into this direction, I would approve the return of her whole heartly.
Give the hero a happy end. He deserves it, after so much pain and bloodshed.

Sorry for slicing hairs, but the question was on how Zero and Axl would react. So, that's probably got something to do with it.

I think Iris would be overjoyed, but also traumatized at the same time. I mean, Zero killed her brother, and then her (albeit unintentionally). I think Zero and Iris would have a lot of issues to work out before they could move on with their lives.
