The lineup was spot on to what it was supposed to be actually, and I was not disappointed. Deadman Wonderland was pretty good, same for Casshern Sins. I can't wait until next week to watch all of it again! I hope everyone else was able to catch it as well. What are your thoughts?

When I was writing last night, I had to facepalm myself because I forgot that Toonami was finally back! I hurried and turned the TV on and was trying to see what was on. I was late, but still. I then saw some guy in white with a little girl and I was like "Why does he seem familiar..."

Then I hear the giant robot dude say "I know you...you're Casshern!"

My reaction: "HOLY SHIIIIIII--! It's F**KIN' CASSHERN!!"

Watched some more stuff after that. I didn't finish writing last night, but oh well. Seeing the awesomeness that is Casshern was freakin' worth it.

At first, I had mixed feelings about Toonami coming back. I've already seen Casshern Sins on DVD (in English, I've yet to see it in Japanese), but it's definitely a show more than worth airing on TV, especially since there isn't much other new good anime on TV these days. Casshern Sins was WAY overdue for a television premier. So I'm glad about them airing that. I might even re-watch it to support the Toonami block.

So far I got pretty much hooked on Deadman Wonderland... the story grabbed me from the first 5 minutes in the first episode! I'll be following that one for sure. It's a bit interesting how Toonami included Bleach within the block, continuing to air at midnight. I'm glad they didn't change that, since I watch that too, but they could've at least taken out Ghost in the Shell or Cowboy Bebop and replace them with two other classic anime, or at least rotate them somehow. Maybe even to wait a month for Kekkaishi and Durarara to finish first before premiering the block.


Oh well... can't have everything. And I'm more happy than disappointed with this whole thing anyways, so it's all good. I welcome the change regardless. :3

im still hoping toonami will return as a weekday block on CN.Here is what i would make the schedule:

For those wondering, I own Casshern and trust me, keep watching it. Around episode 7 or 8 you will be introduced to a new character named Dio, and he alone makes the show worth every minuet spent in watching it. Just, trust me on this. Dio is awesome.

So is anyone else gonna miss hearing "Ah'll be yo' Dead Maaaay-yaaaan...!" in the opening theme to Deadman Wonderland on Toonami?

I know it wasn't the full version, but I always looked forward to hearing it for the past couple of months. And this anime was somethin' ELSE!

I'll miss Deadman Wonderland for sure, especially the theme song haha It was definitely crazy. I understand there is a manga too, which continues on past the show so I hope eventually there will be a season 2 of Deadman. According to the good old wackipedia, the manga is on hold right now because the author is on hiatus for pregnancy, so the anime could be quite a ways off but the wait would be worth it!

As well, Casshern has been amazing too. It's really a different breed of anime I think. I've never seen something convey so many emotions in such an insightful way each time. Several episodes so far could be called filler if in another series, because there's not necessarily any main story progression, but for Casshern, I want to see all those events unfold. They're all so intriguing to me, and paint more of the world's picture. The characters are intriguing too and keep you wanting to learn more. Really awesome. Plus Casshern is just a badass haha Friender too.
