UBER-Awesome episode!!!=D

Ahhhh shoot, Flame beat me to the very thing I wanted to say after reading this!!! It's all good. I must say that I agree... this is coincides VERY much with HALLOWEEN, haha!!! If I were X, watching Web Spider's attack for the first time would sure give ME the Wilys willies too! Along with grabby hands from the graves, and re-animated undead Mavericks trying to make X become like them, plus robot guts hanging from a zombie-fied Maverick!

And if you think about it, Flame Mammoth was sort of a "Frankenstein monster" of several Reploids, so there's that too! Goodness gracious! So this time, he was not only a Franken-Repoid (of his own accord earlier in the series, of course) but a zombie at the same time! AAGHH WOW!

Once again, great teamwork was executed here, as when Blast Hornet jumped in to take care of Storm Eagle just before the Tornado hit X, and when Mac freed X from Vile's containment binds to help finish OFF that purple War Machine. =D Very cool!

Alrighty, guys! With this very spook-tacular episode of Mega Man X - The Anime, we bring you the debut of our Closing Theme 3 that we're calling "When Darkness Returns," co-written by Metal Man X and myself. The main concept is done by Metal Man X with guitars, drums, and synths, with my supporting strings and tuned percussion (timpani drums).

I'm really honored and take it as a High Compliment! I've had so much fun working on Episode 12, writing and planning the entirety of Season II thus far with my Team.


I actually wanted to make an announcement that Team X is going to take a slight break from posting up Episodes in November, while I work on the upcoming X-Hunter Arc, but rest-assured, come December, X... will... finish this!

Haha, I can't wait.

In the meantime, be on the lookout for some new tunes that might possibly come your way in November.

In the Spirit of this month and Episode 12, I want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. And a very Happy Thanksgiving in November.

Hey guys!

ZeroFangirl-Mu here! I apologize for the delay in our November update, as my laptop has recently had some issues.

To hold us over for the next Mega Man X Anime update, here is another music track reveal! This track is done by yours truly, and we are calling this track "Serges' Lament". It includes a dark theme that will recur here and there throughout the series, but this particular version is for a specific scene in our upcoming Episode 13, which will go by the same title as the track.

On another note, our good friend Metal Man X has been dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane /Super Storm Sandy, as he hails from the East Coast. But don't worry, he's fine, folks! Now he's back, and ready for action! And he'll continue to work on our much awaited Episode 13, in addition to continuing on our music collaboration for the series soundtrack.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Well, this update took much longer than anticipated. I sincerely apologize for the extremely late delay everyone.

Normally terms of hiatus do not merit explanation, but I feel that those still interested in viewing the conclusion of our Mega Man X - Season II Fanscripts, more than deserve one at this point.

At first Schwarzchild was taking a hiatus to focus on her studies at school and compete in Nanowrimo as she normally likes to do when November comes around.
I took this as an opportunity to brainstorm and flesh out the X-Hunter Arc and was excited about finishing up the Season.
Then Hurricane Sandy hit and took me offline for 2 weeks. This delayed writing progress as well, but not too much.
When December finally came around, I was good and ready to update and post up our latest episode. But then the X9 Malware incident happened...

And it didn't go away until now...
For everyone it was a different situation, but for me, I could not personally post anything new. I was only able to go back and edit old posts, which doesn't do us much good.
In fear of the Malware issue never getting fixed, Team X has actually set up a Tumblr Account, to Re-Post the old episodes, and reboot the series so-to-speak.
We're currently nowhere near Season II yet, but if you would like to check it out, you may feel free to click on the link here.

But now that the forums are BACK, I am FINALLY going to post up the long-awaited new episodes.

Gate sits at his console staring at the computer monitor in awe. He is reading the news on the internet.

GATE:

I can't believe it!!

Alia is sitting at a console on the other side of the room. She looks over at him.

ALIA:

Hm?

GATE:

Did you hear about what happened at the Robot Junkyard today?

ALIA:

No, what?

GATE:

There were Mavericks... that somehow came back from the dead!

ALIA:

What?! That's horrible!

GATE:

I know, it’s frightening! Luckily, the Maverick Hunters were able to take care of it.

ALIA:
(relieved)
Thank goodness!

GATE:

Still though, I have to admit... that’s pretty genius.

ALIA:

What do you mean?

GATE:

That kind of power... to resurrect the dead... Imagine what could be done if it was used for good!

Gate looks at Alia, fascinated. She frowns.

ALIA:

That’s what recycling is for... It’s not quite the same, but at least the body lives on.

GATE:

No, don’t you see? Families could be reunited with their loved ones if this kind of technology was used properly! We could perform miracles for the entire Reploid Communtiy, if we looked into this further!!

Dr. Doppler walks into the room, annoyed.

DR. DOPPLER:

Reploid Revival is illegal! Now no more of this non-sense... Get back to work.

GATE:

Yes sir.

Gate stares at his screen blankly.

Insert Title Card: Serges' Lament.

INT. ROBOT JUNKYARD - Junk Room - DAY

We see a zoomed in image of Agile's skull. It lies offline in a pile of junk. Pan away from the skull. Two large hands grasp the skull. As we pan out further, we see Violen holding Agile's skull, a grimace on his face. Violen teleports away.

-fade to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Room - DAY

Serges looks at his halogen screen in defeat.

SERGES:
(thinking, v.o.)
How did it ever come to this...? We had everything planned... perfectly!

Begin flashback.

-FLASH-

EXT. MT. ST. HELEN - NIGHT

Insert White Text: 6 months ago – July 8th, 21XX

Violen, Serges, and Agile all teleport to the mountains. Reku, Magma Dragoon and Frenzy Foxkit from the 14th Unit gasp. They put their guard up as Violen smashes everyone down with a large ball-chain attack.

REKU:
(in pain)
Auuugh! Who the Hell are you...?

Reku sits up.

SERGES:

I’m sorry to barge in like this, Maverick Hunters, but you have something that belongs to me!

MAGMA DRAGOON:

What?!

Magma Dragoon throws a fireball at Agile, who pulls out a pink saber and deflects it away.

AGILE:

Heh... Your turn.

Agile smiles evilly and makes a large diagonal slash into the air, creating a large power wave. Magma Dragoon looks on with huge eyes, filled with fear.

MAGMA DRAGOON:
(fearful)
Whaaaat?!

His insides are slashed open, and he falls to the ground again, badly wounded.

FRENZY FOXKIT:

Noooo!!

-flash-

Serges smiles as he pulls out a large mine and attaches it to Frenzy Foxkit's chest.

FRENZY FOXKIT:
(fearful)
What the?

-flash-

The bomb explodes.

FRENZY FOXKIT:
(in pain)
Guaaaaahhh!!

Reku looks at his fallen teammates.

REKU:

Huh?! Oh no, guys!

Reku looks worried and clutches Zero's torso tightly.

SERGES:

We just want the parts to Zero’s body, Maverick Hunter... Nothing more.

Reku cringes and narrows his eyes.

REKU:

You're gonna have to kill me first...

SERGES:

Very well.

-flash-

SERGES:
(commanding)
Violen!

VIOLEN:

Right, boss!

-flash-

Violen sets up a large ball chain high into the sky at a 90 degree angle and swings it down towards them. The 14th Unit stares at it with huge eyes.

REKU:
(screaming)
Haaaaah!!

A communication from Nina suddenly reaches them.

NINA:
(gasping, filtered)
Reku! NO!!

The three teleport away. Serges looks on with a sheepish grin as he rubs his hands.

SERGES:

We have succeeded! Gather his parts immediately! We must complete the final edition to our Team.

Serges narrows his eyes with an evil grin. Violen and Agile smile.

-FLASH-

EXT. CLIFF - NIGHT

Insert White Text: Later That Night...

X teleports to a nearby cliff while the floating island crashes into the water, emitting a huge explosion of light amidst the darkness. X stares at the explosion defiantly until the light forces him to shed a tear from his right eye, and then his left eye.

Pan away from X, as we zoom into the water.

Caption: 24 Hours Later - July 9th 21XX

A Sea Canthiller is investigating the wreckage with a search light. Violen and Agile enter the submarine holding the broken pieces of Sigma’s skull.

-dissolve to-

INT. SEA CANTHILLER - NIGHT

AGILE:

I’m afraid we couldn’t find much, sire.

SERGES:

Just his Control Chip will be enough. If we have that, we can have a formidable ally to join our cause.

VIOLEN:

But do you really think he’ll side with us, boss? After we tried to take his base?

Serges narrows his eyes and smirks.

SERGES:

Hmhmhm... Once we rebuild him, I have no doubt he’ll be indebted to us.

AGILE:

And what if he is not...

SERGES:
(smiling)
Then we will play his game... We’ll pretend to give him what he wants, while truly aiding our own cause.

The two look at Serges in awe.

SERGES:

You see, this whole thing is a win:win situation. We just have to bide our time.

-dissolve to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Mother Computer Room - DAY

Caption: Now.

SERGES:
(thinking, v.o.)
I don’t understand... How did we fail? We were so careful this time. While the Maverick Hunters were recovering, we were slowly building ourselves a new army!

A quick image appears. Serges is repairing the fallen Alpha Soldiers at the Robot Junkyard’s Processing Plant. A second image appears, overlapping the first. Agile is negotiating with the Road Riders in the sands of the Omu Desert. A third image appears, overlapping this one. The Road Riders invade the set of Snapper Disk and take their star player, Disc Boy 08 hostage. A final image appears of Serges cloning multiple Disc Boys.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Within a month, we were able to accrue a Resistance Army that would Counter-Attack their forces. We just needed a General...

INT. CENTRAL COMPUTER – Main Computer Room – DAY

Caption: August 10th, 21XX

Serges, Agile, and Violen look at Sigma, who is on a work table, offline. Sigma goes online suddenly.

SIGMA:

Hmm?

He sits up and looks at his new blue and yellow body in awe.

SIGMA:

I was dead... I felt like a spirit... just drifting in the air... But now I am whole again. And this body!

He stands up and looks at himself in awe.

SIGMA:

I feel incredible!

He looks at his claws and unleashes them, making a 'SHINK' sound.

SIGMA:

That's interesting...

He smirks. Serges, Agile, and Violen peer out from the shadows of the room.

SERGES:

Hello, Sigma...

SIGMA:
(surprised)
You!

SERGES:

I knew we'd meet again...

SIGMA:

What do you want? Where am I?

SERGES:

You’re at the Central Computer in Abel City. You’ve been dead for a month. X still lives, and the Maverick Hunters continue to diminish our Reploid Rights to disobey the will of Man.

Sigma scowls.

SERGES:

We must rectify that. We must cause another Revolution immediately. And thus, we need your help.

Serges looks at his minions and nods. They all bow slowly.

SERGES:

We are hereby pledging our allegiance to you, Sigma.

SIGMA:

Oh really?!

Sigma sheathes his claws and folds his arms.

SIGMA:

And why should I trust any of you?

Serges looks up.

SERGES:

We have a common enemy in X. If we combine forces, I know that we can destroy him and the rest of those pesky Maverick Hunters.

Sigma grimaces.

SIGMA:

I will KILL X!! But that doesn't change anything between you and me.

SERGES:

We were foolish to try to overthrow your base. We should have joined forces from the very beginning.

Sigma looks at him in silence.

SIGMA:

Perhaps you should have... You are a fool to have challenged me. And you are even more of a fool to revive me! Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t destroy the three of you right now!!

SERGES:

...We have Zero. And in due time, we’ll be able to bring him back to his original state!

Sigma looks at them with wide eyes.

SIGMA:

...I'm listening.

SERGES:

Imagine what you could do with that kind of power at your fingertips. We have a Resistance Army that is ready and waiting for your command. All you need to do is give them the order and we can have the Maverick Hunters running ramped all over again as if nothing had ever changed!

Sigma begins to smile.

SIGMA:

Your plan intrigues me... Serges, was it?

SERGES:

Yes.

SIGMA:

Rise, Serges... We have an accord!

Serges rises up as well as his two minions. Sigma shakes Serges' hand, and they both smile.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Once we joined forces with Sigma, everything fell into place...

-flash-

INT. CENTRAL COMPUTER - Outskirts - DAY

Caption: August 23, 21XX.

Magna Centipede phase-teleports inside the building with six Shinobi Ninjas. Once inside, they drop down into the Core Room of the Central Computer. One triggers an alarm by accident. Then another. Then, suddenly, all sights are on the intruders. Lasers fire from Barrier Attackers everywhere. As Magna Centipede lands, he is fully analyzed by the Mother Computer. Instantly he is crushed by a Raider Killer, who lands on top of him. As he is analyzed, the Raider Killer becomes Purple, absorbing his massive power temporarily. The Raider Killer shoots a Magnet Mine directly at Magna Centipede, blowing off a part of his ribs in the process.

MAGNA CENTIPEDE:
(in pain)
Aaagh!

The Chop Register comes after Magna Centipede and stabs him in the heart.

MAGNA CENTIPEDE:
(in pain)
Wuaaaaah!

Magna Centipede’s metallic coloring becomes darker; his eyes a darker shade of purple.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Magna Centipede fell into our midst and his data hacking skills proved to be extremely useful.

INT. CENTRAL COMPUTER – Main Computer Room – DAY

Caption: August 24th, 21XX.

Magna Centipede enters commands and pulls up an image of the Desert Overland Base. The Desert Base is filled with Maverick Hunter Soldiers who are guarding the base rigidly. Magna Centipede takes the image and loops footage of the past 24 hours in a constant stream. Magna Centipede then, punches in a com-link.

MAGNA CENTIPEDE:

Hahaha... Road Riders. This is Magna Centipede. The base is aaaaall yours...

ROAD RIDER 1:
(filtered, excited)
Roger!

SERGES:
(v.o.)
With Magna Centipede’s excellent hacking skills, we were easily able to expand our bases of operations, undetected.

EXT. NORTH POLE – X-Hunter Base - Building Site – DAY

Caption: September 13th, 21XX.

Violen and Agile work on building a new base of operations with hundreds of Alpha Soldiers and Disc Boy clones.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Meanwhile, Sigma was able to recruit more members to our Army. Watching Sigma recruit his warriors one by one was astounding.

A grainy image of Sigma recruiting Bubble Crab and Wheel Gator in the Deep Sea appears, followed by a grainy image of Sigma manipulating Overdrive Ostrich in the Omu Desert.

EXT. MT. ST. HELEN - Volcano - DAY

Caption: October 10th, 21XX

Flame Stag hops out of a volcano as he hears the X-Hunters building a base on a nearby mountain.

FLAME STAG:

Hey, what do you think you're doing?!

Violen turns around.

VIOLEN:

Oh, hello there.

SERGES:

We’re the X-Hunters and we own this place now.

FLAME STAG:

Over my dead body!

AGILE:

That can be arranged... Violen! Kill him!!

VIOLEN:

Haaagh!

Violen bashes Flame Stag with his ball-chain.

FLAME STAG:

Noooo!

Flame Stag torches himself up and out of the way, but Violen grabs his leg and slams him to the ground.

VIOLEN:

Ouch! Hot hot hot!

Violen shakes his hand and then shoots out rapid fire while Flame Stag stands up.

FLAME STAG:
(in pain)

Auauauugh...

Flame Stag backs up and bleeds as he almost falls into a pit of lava. Agile teleports behind him and holds a blade to Flame Stag's neck.

AGILE:

We merely want a plot of your land, Reploid... that is all...

FLAME STAG:
(fearful)
What for?

SERGES:

To expand upon our Resistance Army!!

FLAME STAG:

Resistance Army...?

SERGES:

Oh yes... I think you’ll be pleased to know who has joined our cause.

FLAME STAG:

Hmm?

Suddenly Magna Centipede, Wheel Gator, Bubble Crab and Overdrive Ostrich teleport in. Then Sigma teleports in front of them.

FLAME STAG:

Sigma!

SIGMA:

It seems... that I may need your services after all...

INT. CRYSTAL CAVE - NIGHT

White Text: November 16th, 21XX.

The X-Hunters walk in the Crystal Cave.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
In the next month, we planned to build a base to hoard all the Energen that was stored in the Crystal Cave. It seemed, however, that a Snail had already been hoarding the Energen all for himself.

As they walk on, they see a Snail Reploid guarding a huge chunk of Energen with an angry face.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

Be gone, intruders!! Before I kill you all!!

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Rather than kill him, we decided to take a play from Sigma’s book, and try to reform him to our cause.

SERGES:
(softly)
E-Easy does it my friend...

Serges nods to Violen.

AGILE:

We're not going to hurt you...

VIOLEN:
(frustrated)
Come onnnn!

SERGES:

Hush, Violen! This is no way to greet our friend. (to Crystal Snail) What's your name?

CRYSTAL SNAIL:
(suspicious)
Cristar... now leave me alone.

SERGES:

Listen Cristar... you should know that other people are going to want to enter this cave. It’s rich with valuable Energen.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

It's MINE!! And none of you can have it!!

VIOLEN:

Heeey, easy, buddy. We’re your friends... Relax!

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

I don’t need friends. And I don’t need you... Now please go!

SERGES:

Very well... We will leave, Cristar... ...but if you come across a group of Maverick Hunters looking for Energen, you should know that they are the enemy.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

Scoundrels!! Of course I know that. They’ve been mining for Energen ever since I can remember. Soon there won’t be any pure caves left in Abel City!

Crystal Snail scowls.

AGILE:

This is the purest of them all!! We must protect it!

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

I don't want your help.

SERGES:

Are you suuuure? I heard a nasty rumor that the one they call X is coming.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

X?!

Crystal Snail's eyes are wide with fear.

SERGES:

Yes! He’s a very powerful Maverick Hunter, and an extreme oppressor of our Reploid Freedoms. We must not let him have access to the Energen! Please let us help you defend your cave.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

...How?

SERGES:

We can build this place up with a few devices. They will serve as a defense system to help you keep away intruders.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:
(unsure)
Well...

VIOLEN:
(impatient)
Come on!! He’s a Hunter - taking down whoever he sees fit!! He’s the one who tells the miners where to go!! Get the lead out and use your head! If you stay here, he'll be coming after you next!!

Crystal Snail shakes his head.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:
(upset, gasping)
You're right!! Please help me protect the cave. But if I can defeat X, you also have to promise to leave me alone!

SERGES:

We have a deal.

Serges smiles and shakes his hand.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
For the next month we worked on building a base in the Crystal Cave, while Sigma focused his attention on New Maverick Production by corrupting a Local Abandoned Factory.

EXT. CRYSTAL CAVE - Explosion Site - DAY

Caption: December 25, 21XX.

Harrow Hound and his 12th Mining Unit huddle behind a large rock as a huge mountain explodes. Harrow Hound smirks with his team of 8 as they spot a beautiful mine shrouded in Energen Crystals.

HARROW HOUND:

Merry Christmas, boys...

SIERRA:
(annoyed, happy)
And girl!!

RHO:

Heheheh...

-dissolve to-

INT. CRYSTAL CAVE - Unfinished Room - NIGHT

A loud explosion is heard from outside of the cave. The cave trembles. Crystal Snail gasps as he looks around frantically with the X-Hunters.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

What's that?!

SERGES:

They’re coming... It’s time for us to go. You know what to do.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:

But-

AGILE:

Don’t worry. The Magna Quartz is all you’ll need...

The X-Hunters teleport away. Crystal Snail has a worried face as he hides behind a rock. As he hears the Maverick Hunters enter the cave, Crystal Snail shakes away his fear.

CRYSTAL SNAIL:
(whispering, scowling)
Intruders... I’ll show you...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Operation Room - DAY

Serges walks into the Operation Room, feeling satisfied as he looks at his v2 Zero lying on the work table, almost completely finished.

SERGES:

There you are, my child! You’re BEAUTIFUL!! I just need to make a few more adjustments...

AGILE:
(jealous)
And his Control Chip...

SERGES:

Soon Agile... We must build up our forces a little more first. Then, we’ll have a Maverick Army more unstoppable than ever before!

AGILE:

Forgive me sire, but don’t we have enough already? Between brainwashing their troops, controlling a rival gang and persuading the others to join us... Don’t you think we have enough this time?

SERGES:

Don’t be hasty, Agile. We have to make sure we dangle our carrot accordingly to keep the Hero occupied. We will exhaust him, then attack at the moment when he least expects it!! Once our Hero is down, THEN we can storm the base. I’ve waited too long to have this moment be ruined by your impatience. You must trust me on this one Agile. We will not fail this time! Is that understood?

AGILE:
(nodding, smiling)
Yes sir...

SERGES:
(v.o.)
How did it happen...? Where did we go wrong...?

INT. Abandoned Factory - Production Room - NIGHT

Caption: January 8, 21XX

A New Maverick is painted primarily Green and Black. Then, it is given dashes of Red and yellow for extra flare. When it is finished, it resembles that of a Plant-Based Maverick. As a power current strikes the chamber the Maverick officially boots up, online for the first time.

SIGMA:
(o.s.)
Rise! Rise, my child!

Suddenly the Maverick's eyes come to life and he seems giddy with joy.

WIRE SPONGE:

Ahahahahaha...

-cut to-

INT. CENTRAL COMPUTER – Main Computer Room – NIGHT

Caption: Moments Later...

Magna Centipede grins and snickers evilly as he shuts off the power at Maverick Hunter Base.

MAGNA CENTIPEDE:

Gyeeh heeh heeh hah hah haaa!

Magna Centipede cackles as he sets up the video feed and links it to every monitor in Abel City.

MAGNA CENTIPEDE:

Enjoy the show, fools!

Zoom in on the video.

SIGMA:

Hello Maverick Hunters. If you are receiving this message, then it means that I’ve failed... This time! Hahahaha!! You have won a temporary victory, X! What you destroyed was only a temporary body – My spirit remains intact. In time I will find other bodies strong enough to do my bidding and I will return. I shall see you soon, X. Very soon... Hahahaha...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Room - NIGHT

Caption: Now.

Serges scowls as we pan around his face as the background goes black.

SERGES:
(thinking, v.o.)
X... You destroyed our Machinations before they could even see the light of day!

An image of X crushing all the Maverick Chips in the factory appears, followed by an image of X destroying the Giant Mechaniloid CF-O.

SERGES:
(cont'd, thinking, v.o.)
Then you picked off our forces one by one...

An image of X destroying Wire Sponge with a Charge Shot appears, then an image of X destroying Crystal Snail with an Enhanced Charge Shot appears.

SERGES:

On Captain’s Hologen vid-screen, the 3 X-Hunters can be seen smiling with their arms folded.

SERGES:

Mega... Man... X. At last we meet... Greetings!!

x:

What do you want?!

SERGES:

Oh, no no dear boy... It is what YOU want that brings us to your attention. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Serges, this is Agile, and that one over there is Violen. It seems that you have something of ours, and we seemingly, might have something of yours...

Serges raises his eyebrows.

DR. CAIN:

Hmm?!

CAPTAIN:

What are you getting at?

SERGES:

We thought you should know that we have all of Zero’s parts.

CAPTAIN:

What?!

SERGES:

Therefore, the 3 of us would like to challenge you to a little game.

X:
(scowling)
I don't play games...

AGILE:

Please come and meet with us... alone. We have much to discuss.

X narrows his eyes as they pull up a black and white picture of the newly designed Zero. He never looked better.

VIOLEN:
(impish)
All of this can be yours, if you can defeat us! Hehehehe.

SERGES:

But if you fail... you must relinquish Zero’s Control chip to us. After all... fair is fair.

X remains silent.

AGILE:

Think about it... We look forward to meeting you, X!

The X-Hunters close communication abruptly.

-dissolve to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Room - DAY

In a black backdrop, Serges’ head makes an irate face as he gnashes his teeth together.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
I thought our challenge would serve as a distraction and throw you off, but instead the result was quite the opposite. It annoyed me to no end to watch you rip through our forces and grow more powerful with your STUPID Capsule Enhancements!!

An image of X destroying Bubble Crab with a Charge Shot appears, then an image of X receiving the Arm Enhancements at the Dino Tank appears.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Ugh... Violen. That I insolent fool!! I’d kill him if I didn’t need him!! Agile and I found two of those Capsules and kept them at our Base to try to analyze their technology, but Violen thought they were teleporters! Imbecile!! His mistake nearly caused my demise!!

INT. DINO TANK - Serges' Lair - DAY

Caption: January 10th, 21XX.

X charges up. Serges immediately flips up and fires powerful green blasts from his open Ushyanka.

X:

Bingo...

X blocks and runs through the blasts, getting harmed by them. He shoots a Double Charge Shot at Serges.

SERGES:
(in pain)
Hooo!

-Flash-

X hops onto the platform and shoots up at him with a Charge Shot.

SERGES:

Agh! (v.o.) Those Charge Shots were too powerful... Then he managed to use my own weapon against me!

Serges lands on top of X and plants a bomb on his chest. X fearlessly clutches Serges in retaliation.

SERGES:

What... What are you doing?!

Serges puts up a shield, blocking the two of them on the platform. X points his Buster at the mine on his stomach.

X:

This is the only way! You wanna do this the hard way!? FINE! We BOTH go!!

SERGES:

No, WAIT!!

X:
(shouting)

Goodbyeeeee!

X shoots a double charge shot at the mine. The whole room goes white. The white light fades back to reveal X and Serges on the ground on opposite sides of the room, holding their chest plates and panting for their life. X puts a subtank into his chest plate. Serges scowls at him.

SERGES:

You’ve merely delayed the inevitable... This is my only opportunity to escape... You win... For now... but mark my words... this isn’t over. We WILL meet again!

Serges teleports away.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
That defeat was atrocious. But we made you pay...

-Flash-

INT. DESERT OVERLAND POST - Missile Launch Site - DAY

X:
(fearful)

Haaaa!

X shoots rapid fire at the Neutron Missile as it soars up into the sky as X tries to shoot it down.

X:
(scared, screaming)
Aaaaahhh!!

X shoots faster, and eventually, the missile begins to explode. X hops off and air-dashes away as the missile explodes above him. On his descent, a vicious wave of power catches X from behind, shoving X into the ground.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Sigma’s glorious plan to destroy Maverick Hunter Base backfired, but it left you damaged and very low in energy reserves. That’s when we capitalized on your punishment!

-flash-

Violen presses a button on a launcher. A huge Neutron Missile behind him launches.

X:

What the?! Noooo! Not another one!!

VIOLEN:

Ahahahahaa! This is the end, X! You, me, and Overdrive will all fall together!!

X:

You FIEND!!

X shoves Overdrive Ostrich out of the way and air-dashes to a pillar, which Violen is standing on.

VIOLEN:
(laughing)
Hahahaha!!

Violen launches a ball-chain, which collides into X's chest.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
This was it X! The exact moment we had been waiting for. Right when you were least expecting it, Violen was going to take you down. And he did!

-Flash-

X falls down to his knees and then face-plants into the sand. Violen looks around, shocked.

Violen puts up a high Ball-chain to the sky, and crashes it down against X's back. X bleeds out from both sides.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
He killed you!! I saw it with my own eyes...

-dissolve to-

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Main Lobby – DAY

SERGES:
(v.o.)
We won!! We were finally able to execute Phase II and grab Zero’s Control Chip from your base.

Burn Bishop and Rayven panic as they spot Sigma, Serges, Violen Agile and Magna Centipede invading their base.

BURN BISHOP:
(panicking)
Bernard to ANYONE!! We've got compaaaaany!!

SERGES:

Hahahaha...

SIGMA:

With X out of the way, this is going to be easier than taking candy from a baby...

-flash-

Serges hovers in, Control Chip in hand.

SERGES:

The prize is ours!! Retreat, X-Hunters! Retreat!!

SIGMA:

No... the base is ours. We will reclaim it now!

Serges narrows his eyes at Sigma as he hovers over to Violen, who is passed out and damaged.

SERGES:

The purpose of this mission was to reclaim the Control Chip, not their puny base!

Sigma points a finger at Serges.

SIGMA:

Just who do you think is the leader of this operation!?

SERGES:

Lest you forget who Resurrected you!! The X-Hunters are falling back. You may do as you wish...

Serges teleports away with Violen.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
I cared not for the spoils of war. The victory was ours, and Zero was finally mine! At last!!

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Creation Chamber – NIGHT

Caption: Later that night...

ROAD RIDER 2:

I heard that this guy is gonna be their secret weapon!

ROAD RIDER 1:

Yeah right.

Road Rider 1 smirks.

ROAD RIDER 1:

He’s probably just gonna be another errand boy...

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Then the unexpected occurred...

Zero's circuit bonds snap.

ZERO:
(darkly)
I'll tell you one thing...

ROAD RIDER 1:
(scared)
Z-zeroooo?!

ZERO:

You bastards are NEVER going to see me used in such a ridiculous way!!

SERGES:
(v.o.)
My masterpiece woke up before my viral programming had taken it’s full effect. Despite our precarious situation, I was so amused to see him try to escape his fate...

-flash-

An alarm triggers. Zero runs into the next room and sees a swarm of Mechaniloids and soldiers around him on all sides.

ZERO:

So... it’s not gonna be that easy, huh?

He smirks.

SERGES:
(filtered)
Hehehehe, I think not, my boy!

A familiar noise emits from Zero's head gem, giving him a headache.

ZERO:

Waaagh!!

SERGES:
(filtered)
Welcome back... I see you're adjusting to my improvements well...

ZERO:

Agh... (darkly) Well... I am the best ‘cure’ you’ve got against X... to say the least... (snidely) Let me go after him for you... I’ll bring him in!

SERGES:
(filtered)
I’m afraid that won’t be necessary, Zero... you see... X is already dead!!

ZERO:
(shocked)
WHAT?!

SERGES:
(filtered)
Aaaahahahaha!!

SERGES:
(v.o.)
Then I found out the truth...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Agile teleports in.

AGILE:

Forgive me, my Lords, but I have terrible news.

SERGES:

Huh?

He turns around.

AGILE:

X is alive.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
That changed everything...

-dissolve to-

EXT. LAGUZ ISLAND – Sump – DAY

X clenches his right fist as it turns pure blue.

X:

Haaaaaaa!!

X punches Zero's gem and shatters it. The punch leaves a ray of light, which clashes against a dark aura of red and purple emitting from Zero's gem. A similar purple mist appears from the gem and turns into the shape of a skull as it slowly disappears. Zero passes out on the ground.

-flash-

X pulls Zero into a hug, and teleports away with him.

-dissolve to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - MOTHER COMPUTER ROOM - NIGHT

Caption: Now.

Violen enters the room.

VIOLEN:
(humble)
I got him back boss... He’s just a skull now, but at least it’s something... I gave it to Sigma.

SERGES:

Ugh. This is useless... I failed... Agile failed... Sigma’s Back-up Plan has failed. And Zero is now self-aware in their midst...

VIOLEN:
(frowning)
So what do we do now?

Serges looks over to Violen, defeated.

SERGES:

Prepare the Final Defenses. It won’t be long before the Maverick Hunters try to invade our base. With full access to the Central Computer, I’m sure the Maverick Hunters have figured out where we are by now...

Serges cringes with hatred.

VIOLEN:
(frowning)
Oh...

SERGES:

Stand ready, Violen. When X tries to get past our first wave, I want you to be the one that takes him down with everything you’ve got!

VIOLEN:

Yes sir!

Violen leaves the room to get to his post.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
In the meanwhile, I’m going to work on the finishing touches of my Defense Tank... And pray for a miracle...

Zero punches through the glass of his slumber pod as an alarm suddenly triggers. He runs through the shadows of the hallways as red sirens go off, illuminating his black armor.

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Dormitories - DAY

X gets out of bed.

X:

Huh?

His eyes grow wide with fear as he hears the alarms. He runs out of the room. In the hallway he sees Magma Dragoon, alert. Then Turian opens his door and runs into the hallway.

TURIAN:

X, what's going on?

X:

I don't know! Something's wrong!!

X receives a communication on his com-link.

DR. CAIN:
(filtered)
Oh my God! X... this is horrible!!

X:

What is it, doc?

DR. CAIN:
(filtered)
Come to the lab quick! It’s Zero.

X teleports to the lab.

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Cain Labs - DAY

X teleports in and runs to a distraught Dr. Cain.

X:

Doc, what happened?

DR. CAIN:

He escaped from his slumber pod!!

X:
(panicking)
Oh no!!

DR. CAIN:

Take a look at this...

Dr. Cain pulls up Security footage from the past 5 minutes. It displays Zero punching out of his glass pod. His armor is black. Nina makes an announcement suddenly.

NINA:
(filtered)
Emergency! Emergency! Breach in the Aerial Docking Bay!

X:

We have to stop him right now!!

X dashes over to his Host Capsule and powers up into his v2 Battle Armor.

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Medic Bay - DAY

Captain holds his wounds as he sits up in bed.

CAPTAIN:

Good God, what’s happening to my base...?

From his gauntlet he typed in command codes to set the Medic Bay monitor to display an image of the Docking Bay. From the monitor, Zero could be seen hopping into a Maverick Hunter Aircraft and taking off.

CAPTAIN:

No!!!

He com-links into Control.

CAPTAIN:

Control! Do NOT let him escape! Send in the 7th Unit!!

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Control Room - DAY

Blue Noir sits at Captain's control chair. He nods.

BLUE NOIR:

I'm on it.

From the Halogen screen, he sees X teleport to the dock in full battle armor.

BLUE NOIR:

Huh?

He watches curiously.

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Dock - DAY

X runs over to an air-craft as he watches Zero take off.

X:

Noooo, Zero!! What are you doing?!

X hops up into the cockpit and ignites the engines. Suddenly he hears a sound and turns around to see Red Noir running towards him.

RED NOIR:

X, get out of my ship!! You don't know what you're doing!

X:

Sorry... no can do Red Noir... That’s my best friend out there and I won’t let him DIE again!

X ignites the engine and begins to lift off.

RED NOIR:

X!! Eeeex!!

X:
(filtered)
Don’t worry about me! I’ve passed enough Flight Simulators to manage the basics.

Red Noir watches X take off.

RED NOIR:

No!! I could have helped you...

He turns around and looks at the empty hangar.

RED NOIR:

Those were our last two ships... damn it...

EXT. BLACK SKY - NIGHT

X chases after Zero and catches up with him. Zero weaves away from X skillfully. X punches in a com-link to Zero's jet.

X:

Zero! This is X. Do you hear me? You don’t have to do this!!

Zero looks annoyed and punches a hole through his transmitter.

X:

Zero, do you read me?! I don't want to-

X pauses as static fills the cockpit. He scowls.

X:

Shoot! You stubborn piece of work!!

He boosts ahead and tries to fly by Zero's side. Zero glances out the window and sees X glaring at him. X points down at the ocean with his hand, trying to signal to find a place to land. Zero shakes his head and frowns.

ZERO:

I'm not talking to you... traitor.

X looks up and watches Zero speed away from him.

X:

What?! No, damn it... I have to use drastic measures.

X speeds up and fires guns at Zero's aircraft.

ZERO:

Augh!

Zero flies out of the way.

ZERO:
(irate)
Mavericks... Hunters... You're ALL backstabbers...

X pulls around and fires more shots at Zero.

ZERO:

Damn it, kid, back off!!

He flies up in a loop. Once he finishes looping around, he sees X flying at a 45 degree angle away from him.

ZERO:

This is it, X... payback.

Zero smirks and fires a missile at X's aircraft. The cockpit's radar alerts him to the missile, as he looks around in a panic. He turns his head around to see the missile heading towards him.

X:

Huuuh? No!!

The missile crashes against X's aircraft, causing him to descend at a rapid pace.

ZERO:

Hahaha... See ya later, 'Legend'...

Zero looks down with a smirk before setting off a turbo booster, continuing on to his destination. X descends to the Arctic Ocean rapidly. From inside the cockpit, a light flashes on a button next to him.

X:

Ah maaan!!

X hits the flashing eject button.

-pan to-

EXT. ARCTIC OCEAN - NIGHT

X ejects from the ship as it dives nose first into the sea, setting off more explosions on the craft.

DR. CAIN:
(filtered)
X! No!!

NINA:
(filtered)
No, X... I can't believe this...!

X quickly descends into the freezing cold waters of the arctic as he communicates back.

X:
(coughing)
Caauh... I'm alrighhh... I'm okay...

DR. CAIN:
(o.s., filtered)
Oh thank God! You're alright!

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Control Room - DAY

Nina gasps.

NINA:

X! You're okay!

BLUE NOIR:

X is okay, people!

ALL:

Yeeeah!!

X:
(filtered)
Where was Zero headed? Were you able to triangulate his position??

NINA:

Huh?

DR. CAIN:
(o.s., filtered)
I'm not sure

Nina looks at her console and quickly taps out a few calculations.

NINA:

It seems like Zero was headed for the X-Hunter Base.

EXT. ARCTIC OCEAN - NIGHT

X scowls, determined.

X:

Send me there, now!

BLUE NOIR:
(filtered)
We’ll send you and a whole team. That’s enemy territory. You don’t know what’s waiting for you over there, X.

X:

Sigma’s there... and Serges and Violen are with him.

DR. CAIN:
(o.s., filtered)
Be careful, X! This is it...

X:

I know.

NINA:
(o.s., filtered)
Patching in coordinates now. Transfer in 3... 2... 1.

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Frontline Battleground - NIGHT

X appears in a snowy field. An army of Disk Boys await him. X quickly braces himself.

X:

Come onnn!!

X grits his teeth as he fires a double charge shot through the front line.

DISK BOY 1:

Charge!!

A horde of Disc Boys run after X. They throw their sharp discs at him and pile on top of him.

X:

I don't have time for this!!

X switches to Speed Burner and flame dashes through them.

DISK BOY 1:

Ooough!!

The Disk Boys all fall off of X, defeated. X dashes and runs away as his armor flashes to black and yellow. He leaves magnet mine traps for more disk boys who chase him. Ten mines blow up in their faces before the Disk Boys stop in their tracks. X flashes dark blue and yellow, firing a few Sonic Slicers across the army, then green as he fires several Spin Wheels at the soldiers. The slicers and wheels ricochet off the ground, cutting through many of the soldiers as they bleed and fall to the ground. The remaining soldiers stand in fear. A team of Maverick Hunters teleport in front of X. X gasps, and smiles as he looks around him to see Blast Hornet, Web Spider, Mac, and Grizzly Slash stand by his side. The rest of the 9th Unit joins them: Sniper Snake, Recon Raccoon, Cross-Hare, Grizzly Slash, Poison Toad, Venom Varanus, Synge and Scourge. Then, Ice Wolfe and his 13th Unit Wolfpack, and Magma Dragoon’s 14th Special Unit teleport in. Finally, Gravity Beetle teleports in with the rest of the 17th Elite Unit.

X:

Yes! You all made it!

POLLUX:

Wouldn't miss it for the world!

GRAVITY BEETLE:

X, we’ll take care of these clowns. You should get inside as fast as you can. Now that Zero’s defected from us, there’s no telling what will happen.

X:

I'm on it! ...Thanks, guys.

MAGMA DRAGOON:

Save it for when we’ve won!

Magma Dragoon fires a fireball through a wave of Disk Boys. X grins with determined eyes as he darts towards a rocky mountain, where the base is. Laser turrets follow him and begin to fire at him.

X:

Ah! They’ve spotted me!

X dash-hops out of the way as the lasers barely miss him. They keep firing at him, until X shoots a Magnet mine directly at the turret. A Partilaster drone flies high above X, firing lasers at him as well. Zoom in to the Partilaster's Camera eye.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Sigma looks at the broken turret.

SIGMA:

There ya go... Don’t disappoint me, X.

Sigma watches X through the lens of the Barrier Attacker Camera as it flies around him. It sees X’s face tighten with a glare as he destroys the camera with a charge shot. As the camera goes static, Sigma tightens his fists.

SIGMA:

Mmph... I can’t WAIT to destroy you!

-cut to-

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Entrance - NIGHT

X passes under a mechanical overpass as he begins to enter a corridor. The corridor is guarded by a few Disc Boy Soldiers and a Cannon Driver. X easily outmaneuvers them as he knocks them down with level 1 and 2 charge shots. The cannon driver fires at X, but misses. X sets up his new silk shot and fires a large pile of junk out of his buster. The debris tears a hole through the Cannon Driver and easily defeats it. After the Cannon Driver explodes, X runs through the explosion to the corridor entrance.

X:

Here we go...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Room - NIGHT

Serges offers a relieved smile as he watches Zero fly towards the base from his Halogen Screen.

SERGES:
(gasping)
It's him!

Serges watches Zero land on a runway located on the other side of the base. He smiles.

SERGES:

This is a most surprising development indeed!! Welcome home, Zero.

-cut to-

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Runway - NIGHT

Zero hops out of the Aircraft and walks towards the base. Suddenly a bomb explodes in front of him.

ZERO:

Hm?

He jumps back.

BLAST HORNET:

Where do you think you’re goin’...?

Blast Hornet aims his buster at Zero.

ZERO:

You’ve come to challenge me, huh?

Zero narrows his eyes and pulls out the saber hilt from his back.

ZERO:

Let's get started, then.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Entrance - NIGHT

X takes a deep breath and runs through the corridor. He can see two huge windows displaying the dark mountains outside. As he nears a stairway, two Batton Bones screech at him.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Sigma’s Lair - NIGHT

SIGMA:

X has made it inside. Set the traps.

SERGES:
(o.s., filtered)
Affirmative.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Entrance - NIGHT

As X shoots down the Batton Bones, the stairs before him become jagged and spiky. A floor at the bottom level opens up to display spikes.

X:

Oh man...

X dash-jumps towards the stairs. X dashes over to a nearby wall and slides down towards a Scriver, taking him out with a level 2 shot. X then turns and dashes down towards the jagged stairwell. He carefully sets himself down 3 blocks of stairs. Then he notices a hover platform waiting for him.

X:
(muttering)
I should’ve known that they would try to play games with me...

X hops onto the hover platform. The hover-platform guides X ahead of the spikes as a Scriver hops after him, trying to push him off.

X:

Ah!

X catches the Scriver by the nose and bashes it against the spiky floor below him. Another one comes after him, which X shoots down with a level 2 shot. X nears a wall and kick-jumps upwards. Once he reaches the next hallway, he runs through the corridor and destroys two nearby Scrivers. He sees a ladder above him and climbs up to the next floor, which leads him directly into a wall trap, which a Mechaniloid pulls at from high up. X kick-jumps up as fast as he can while charging up.

X:

Haa!!

He fires a Super Sonic Slicer, which soars upwards and destroys the Mechaniloid from below. He reaches the top and pants.

X:

Damn...

-pan to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Second Floor - NIGHT

X runs through and sees a Barrier Attacker waiting for him. It immediately puts up a shield. X fires a Sonic Slicer to cut through the shield, then another one, which rips right through the drone. He sees another Barrier Attacker scanning the area. He fires a Magnet Mine at a nearby wall. As the Barrier Attacker passes over it, X sets off the mine, which blows away the drone. X climbs up a ladder into yet another wall-trap. He quickly hurries to the top and destroys the Mechaniloid pulling at the walls.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Third Floor - NIGHT

X runs ahead. On a platform above him, X sees an Aclanda waiting for him. He fires a Spin Wheel that rolls right into it, tearing it to shreds. He climbs a ladder, where another Aclanda awaits him. He shreds through it with another Spin Wheel, then he sets off his radar and scans for traps.

RADAR:

Wall trap ahead.

X smirks.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Looks like they’re running out of ideas...

He smirks.

-cut to-

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Runway - NIGHT

Zero dashes after Blast Hornet and punches him across the chest and face, until he flees upwards in the sky, just out of Zero's reach.

ZERO:

Hah!!

Zero pulls out his Z-Saber and jumps after Blast Hornet, as he is about to chop him down in a barbaric strike. Suddenly, he is shot down by purple rapid fire.

ZERO:

Auugh!

Zero falls down.

MAC:

Take that you traitor...

Mac arrives with Web Spider and Grizzly Slash. The rest of the 9th Unit slowly arrives to the scene.

MAC:

We took care of your little frontline... /and you're next!

Mac points a finger at him.

Zero grits his teeth, readying his Sabre.

ZERO:

Bring it on!!!

-Cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Fourth Floor - NIGHT

X:

HAH!

X fires a super Sonic Slicer at the Mechaniloid above him, as he hops out of the wall trap. X runs onward to see corridors leading below him and ahead of him, and a Mecha Arm blocking the way ahead. X narrows his eyes and runs into an air-dash. The Mecha Arm catches him and throws him back. X narrows his eyes as he charges up.

X:

...Speed Burner!!

X flame dashes across the Mecha Arm at high speed. It tries to catch him, but fails. Suddenly, a Road Crasher drives into X and is scorched by his flame dash.

X:

Ahhhh!!

As his flames dissipate, X sees another Mecha Arm waiting for him ahead. He charges up again and flame dashes through it. His flame dash destroys another Road Crasher that was waiting for him. Above him, a Partilaster waits. X fires a Magnet Mine directly up at it. As he kick-jumps up the wall, he fires more mines at the remaining Partilasters until he finds himself at another wall trap.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Fifth Floor - NIGHT

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Man! I’ve had enough of this!

X thinks to himself as he kick jumps up through the trap and fires a charge shot through the Mechaniloid. As X gets up through the wall trap, he sees an Aclanda guarding a Gateway. X switches to Spin Wheel and tears right through the machine as he calmly walks towards the gate.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Who's first...?

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Runway - NIGHT

Zero blasts down Mac and Web Spider easily with a large yellow charge shot.

ZERO:
(grinning)
Who's next...

Magma Dragoon narrows his eyes.

MAGMA DRAGOON:

Come on boys!!

14th UNIT:

Haaaaaah!

The 14th Unit charges after Zero as they all ready their weapons. Turian charges his ice cannon, Tethlon readies his rock buster, Blizz and Blaze's hands glow with ice and fire power and Frenzy Foxkit charges up his Electric Whip.

ZERO:
(dark, laughing)
Hehehe..

Zero fearlessly dashes into their collective attack, as he huddles off to the side and fires a large charge shot directly into the ground, affecting both Blizz and Blaze. With an opening, Zero then dashes into Frenzy Foxkit, and grabs him by the hand.

FRENZY FOXKIT:

Ahh!!

ZERO:

Hah!

Zero kicks him down in the stomach hard. He is blasted in the back by Turian's ice cannon.

ZERO:

Augh..

TURIAN:

Now!!

Turian's gang all fire at Zero with everything they got.

TURIAN:

That should do it...

As the smoke clears, Zero appears, unphased.

ZERO:

Hehehe. Hahahahaa!!!

Zero charges up, his gem glowing bright red.

ZERO:

It's gonna take a lot more than that to stop me!!

Zero points out his buster as they all look at him in fear.

-Cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Violen's post - NIGHT

As X walks through the second gate, he sees Violen standing firm.

X:

Violen!

VIOLEN:

There he is... The ‘Living Legend’ himself... What a joke.

X scowls at Violen as he puts his guard up.

VIOLEN:

How could a little pipsqueak like you make it this far?? Hmph! Must’ve been dumb luck!

X:

Luck has nothing to do with it Maverick. I’m going to make you-

VIOLEN:
(interrupting)
SHUT UP! This time I’m gonna make sure you STAY DEAD!!

Violen raises his arms and powers up as he hops high up in the room and sets down his ball-chain. X narrows his eyes, analyzes his moves and dashes underneath him.

X:

Rrgh... Double Shot!!

X fires a double charge shot at Violen.

VIOLEN:

Hmph! You're pathetic!

Violen immediately flies down towards X and bashes him across the chest. As Violen swings around, he lunges his Ball Chain to X.

X:

Whoaaaa!

X barely dodges and starts to trip.

VIOLEN:
(growling)
I'm gonna make you pay for what you did to my friends!

Violen haphazardly flings the Ball Chain around the whole room. The Ball Chain bounces back, damaging the ceiling, walls and floor as X tries his best to dash away. But then Violen catches him from behind and X slides forward, holding his back tenderly.

X:
(in pain)
Aaaah...

VIOLEN:

Hahaha... what's the matter, punk?

Violen kicks him and then sits on his chest.

X:
(in pain)
uuunnh...

Violen chokes X with both hands.

VIOLEN:

This is it tin can! I’m gonna crush you with my bare hands. And once your circuit bonds snap, I’m gonna bash your body to tiny pieces! What do you think about that...?

X's face becomes red.

X:
(coughs)
Kuuh...

He shoves his buster in Violen's face and fires a Bubble Splash.

VIOLEN:
(in pain)
Aaaaoooooowww!!

X coughs and holds his neck as he stands up.

X:

I think you're insane!

He stings him in the eyes with Bubble Splash.

VIOLEN:
(in pain)
Ohhh goooood!!

Violen falls to his knees, holding his face.

X:

Heh, don't like that much, do you...?

X smirks.

VIOLEN:

You bastard!!

A blinded Violen puts his palms out and fires rapid fire to the wall, missing X entirely.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Looks like I've finally got the upper hand...

X sneaks around and fires a Bubble Splash at his face.

VIOLEN:

Gaaah, you COWARD!!

Violen's circuits sizzle as he tries to shake it off.

X:

I'm no coward! The only reason why you're mad is because I found your weakness!!

VIOLEN:

FOOL!! I am not weak!!

Violen opens his eyes and fires a ball chain into X's gut.

X:

Ouuuughhhh!!

Violen slams the ball chain into the wall, taking X with it. X begins to bleed from his stomach.

X:
(in pain)
Gughh... nooo...

VIOLEN:

Doesn’t feel so good, does it, X? To be pinned against the wall with no other choice but to bleed out... This one’s for my pal Wheel Gator...

X's eyes widen in anger as he charges up.

X:

Wheel Gator was NOT your friend!!

X fires a heavy Strike Chain at Violen’s face, which leaves a big red mark on his cheek.

VIOLEN:
(in pain)
Awgh...

Violen stumbles away, releasing the ball chain in the process.

X:

Agh...

X holds on to his wound.

X:

What...? That.. Strike Chain... should’ve gone through you!

VIOLEN:

Hahahaha!! It's just like I told ya, kid... the only weakling in this room is you!

X charges up, sets off a Bubble Shield, and puts his fists up.

X:

We'll see about that.

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Runway - NIGHT

Zero fires a large yellow and blue charge shot at Blast Hornet, which exposes his chest plate completely.

BLAST HORNET:

Gaaaaah!!

Blast Hornet falls into Web Spider.

WEB SPIDER:

Gotcha.

BLAST HORNET:

He's... too strong...

The rest of the Hunters stare at Zero in fear, save for Mac.

MAC:

Don’t worry... We’ll get this bastard.

Suddenly the 13th Unit Wolfpack arrives at the scene.

ICE WOLFE:

Allow me...

Ice Wolfe walks ahead of the Hunters and braces himself in a battle position.

ICE WOLFE:
(growling)
Grrrrr! After listening to all of your guidance when training, it is a shame that this is the path you have chosen. Grrrrrr-OOOWWWWWW!

Ice Wolfe howls as he lunges out at Zero. Zero pulls out his saber and cuts him at his side.

ICE WOLFE:
(in pain)
Hoooowwww!

He slides on the ground, bleeding out from his ribs. White Wolfe and her brother, NIGHT WOLF, look on in horror as the rest of the team growls.

WHITE WOLFE:

Wolfpack! Hex Formation!

NIGHT WOLF:

Now we're talkin'...

He shadow dashes behind Zero. Grey Wolf stands next to Night Wolf.

WHITE WOLFE:

Kids, you stay by me...

Three pups, Snowball, Snowflake, and Frostbite all file into a triangle formation near her. The six circle around Zero until they form a perfect hexagon.

WHITE WOLFE:

Now! Hex freeze!!

They all blow cold air on Zero. The screen fades to white.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Violen's Post - NIGHT

Violen and X exchange blow for blow with their fists as they begin to feel tired.

VIOLEN:

Yaaah!!

Violen clenches his fist and runs to X.

X:

Hyaaaah!!

X runs over to him and punches Violen's fist. Sparks fly as their fists collide. Violen becomes more damaged with each attack, as a side effect of the bubble shield.

VIOLEN:

Whaaaat!? How could you be overloading my circuits?!

X:

Shut up and fight, Violen!!

X begins to overpower him as he punches Violen in a combo of attacks. He punches Violen across the chest with a right straight punch, cripples him with a left punch to the gut and then knocks him out with a hard right hook to the face.

VIOLEN:
(in pain)
Aaaaaghhhh!!

He falls down.

VIOLEN:

You punk! You think you’re so much better than me!

Violen struggles to sit up.

VIOLEN:

My power is only starting to-

X kicks him in the face and shoots him down with direct bubble splashes.

X:
(shouting)
Diiieee!!

VIOLEN:
(shouting)
Guaaaaaa!!

His circuits short out from the inside and he begins to explode.

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE – Runway - NIGHT

SNOWBALL:

Hey Mommy, lookit!

SNOWFLAKE:

I think we got him!

White Wolfe nuzzles the pups.

GREY WOLF:

Don't celebrate yet.

The ice cracks. Zero breaks out with a Giga attack, sending the ice and a wave of plasma towards everyone. The wolves all fall down.

ZERO:
(evilly)
Hahahahaaa!!

A loud explosion is heard from a nearby building. Zero turns around in fear.

ZERO:

Huh?

Gravity Beetle and the 17th Elite Unit arrive to the scene.

GRAVITY BEETLE:

It's X... I know it is! He's winning!!

MAGMA DRAGOON:

Which means we still have a chance!!

GRAVITY BEETLE:

Let’s let him have it, guys! This fight isn’t over yet!!

ALL:

YEAH!!

The Maverick Hunters stand up and guard themselves. The wolves howl as they ready themselves. Pan up to the top of the X-Hunter Base.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Room - NIGHT

Serges scowls.

SERGES:

Nooo!! Damn you, X! DAMN YOU!

He punches in a code, setting off a trap.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Violen's Post - NIGHT

A siren goes off, and the ceiling above X slowly closes in on him.

SERGES:
(o.s., upset, filtered)
Congratulations on making it this far Maverick Hunter, but I’m afraid you’ve reached a dead end.

The voice comes from a loudspeaker in the corner of the room. X panics as he looks around.

X:

Shoot, there's nowhere to go!!

X tries shooting at the walls and floors, but to no avail. When he turns around, he notices there’s a window behind him.

X:

Wait!!

X dives after the window, but a shield blocks him from escaping.

X:
(panicking)
Noooo!!

SERGES:
(amused, filtered)
Is something wrong, X?

X looks up at the ceiling and sees it inch closer towards him.

X:

No... It can't end like this...

Freeze frame grainy effect on the scene.

We're back!

I really enjoyed Episode 13, in that it gave us a behind-the-scenes of how the X-Hunters approached Crystal Snail, and some of Serges' flashbacks had new material not yet revealed earlier. So that was great to see. Also, interestingly, Dr. Doppler speaks against Reploid Revival to Dr. Gate and Alia and cuts their conversation about it short. Perhaps a sort-of "forshadowing" there, for what we see him do in Season 3...?

And Episode 14 was action-PACKED! Loved that one as well. I enjoyed the dynamics the aircraft battle and the Wolfpack with other Hunters fighting Zero, and X's fight with Violen was LOTS of fun to read.

I’ve been watching all of your battles... I must say they’ve been quite entertaining. But at long last, it is time for our show to come to an end.

EXT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE - Outside Cliff - DAY

Zero talks to X as the sun rises.

ZERO:

Last night Centipede reported that he was attacked by three very strong Reploids who had invaded the base. We also know that these three have been spying on your every movement this whole time...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Violen's Post - NIGHT

X's mouth is agape.

X:

You... You've been setting this up from the start, haven't you?!

SERGES:
(filtered)
Oh yes, X! I’ve been watching you grow and continue to ‘evolve’ for close to three years now!! And now you’ll finally meet your demise! And the irony is that, I didn’t even need to do anything but press a little button! After all the elaborate schemes... all these years... Hahahahahaha!!!

X scowls as he sees the ceiling cover half of the window. He cringes as his armor glows white.

X:
(shouting)
Nooo!! I won't let you win like this!!!

He opens his eyes, which are glowing neon green, and his head gem glows red. X runs to the window and dives after it.

X:
(shouting)
Giga Cruuuuush!!

The room fades to white.

Insert title card: Curtain Call.

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

GRAVITY BEETLE:

Shooters! Up front now!

Mac, Sniper Snake, Recon Raccoon, Cross-Hare, Magma Dragoon, Turian, Allecto, Pollux and Castor all take the front-line with Gravity Beetle.

GRAVITY BEETLE:

Fire!!!

Zero takes cover as they all fire at him, creating a massive crater in the ground and explosions on the battlefield. Zero dashes around the explosions, and fires multiple heavy yellow charge shots to the front line.

CROSS-HARE:

/Agh!

RECON RACCOON:

/Oogh!

SNIPER SNAKE:

/Ohh...

At the dash all three Hunters fall down, hurt.

MAC:

Aaaah!!

As the smoke clears, Zero grabs Mac by the collar as he charges his buster to its fullest at point-blank range.

ZERO:

Die, scum...

A large white explosion occurs in a building behind them. A trail of white light is seen in the background as Zero turns again.

ZERO:

Now what?!

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Huuunh!

He punches down Zero.

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Stay on him, guys! We can do this! Now's our chance!

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Main Tower - NIGHT

The white light fades away, and reveals nothing but barren, rocky, icy terrain. X looks up.

X:
(panting)
That was close...

X's eyes fade to normal as he looks at the window he jumped out of, noticing that it was on the 5th floor.

X:

Damn, I was almost at the top... Looks like I have to find another way back up there, but how...? (opens comlink) Nina, this is X. Come in.

NINA:
(filtered)
I copy, X.

X:

I need to find another way back in the building. The main route has been closed off.

NINA:
(filtered)
Hm... Okay, let me see...

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE - Control Room - NIGHT

Nina scans for alternate routes.

NINA:

Okay... Turn around.

She opens up a video link on her console and sees X turn around. Then she looks back to her map.

NINA:

Alright, you need to head north up the hill and re-enter the building from the East Corridor.

X:
(filtered)
East Corridor?

X walks up the hill.

NINA:

Yes. The entrance is a pipeline located by the water. It looks like you’re gonna have to get your feet wet once you get inside.

X:
(filtered)
Will this lead me back to where I need to be?

NINA:

Hold on...

Nina checks the map.

NINA:

According to the map, this route should take you to the same level before you fell off course.

Alright... Thanks, Nina!

X smiles.

X runs on.

X runs up the hill and turns the corner by the rocky terrain. He runs on and notices the cold waters ahead and hears faint battle sounds.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
That's them!!

He pauses and turns on his com-link.

X:

Hold on, guys! I'm coming!

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

GRAVITY BEETLE:

No, X!!

Gravity Beetle cuts off X as he holds onto his ear piece.

GRAVITY BEETLE:

You have a mission to finish! Priority 1 for you is to take down Sigma & the X-Hunters!! Let us worry about Zero.

X:
(filtered)

GRAVITY BEETLE:
(interrupting)
Forget it!! I'm breaking contact!!

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Ground Central - NIGHT

X stares at the ground as he hears static in his com-link.

X:

He's right... I have to finish what I started.

X runs on inside a tunnel.

X:

Hold on, guys! I'm going as fast as I can!

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

Scourge attacks Zero with a whip while Synge sets off his flame thrower at point blank range. Zero guards his face as he dashes away. Web Spider hops in and traps Zero in a Lightning Web from behind, while Gravity Beetle pulls Zero up with a Gravity Well.

ZERO:

Aagh!!

GRAVITY BEETLE:

Gotcha now, tough guy! You want to tell us what this is all about?

Zero gives Gravity Beetle a dirty look.

ZERO:

You of all people should know exactly what this is about! I was created to... to... (pause) Destroy EVERYTHING!!

GRAVITY BEETLE:

You stupid Maverick!

ZERO:

I'm not a Maverick!! This is my mission!

MAC:

He's lost it...

GRAVITY BEETLE:

Dr. Cain says he’s been fighting a virus. Looks like we lost him... Take him out immediately.

ZERO:

No!!

Zero frees himself from the Lightning Web and lunges at Gravity Beetle, throwing his saber at him.

ZERO:

YOU die!!

GRAVITY BEETLE:
(in pain)
Aahhh...!

Gravity Beetle passes out.

ALLECTO:

No!!

CASTOR:

Come on, guys! We better take him back to the base now!!

MAC:

Everyone listen up! If you’ve taken too much damage I need you to fall back immediately!

The 13th Unit Wolfpack howls and teleports away. Sniper Snake, Recon Raccoon and Cross-Hare teleport away with Blast Hornet. The 17th Unit teleports back to base with Gravity Beetle. Grizzly Slash looks around, annoyed.

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Screw that! This is gonna be a fight to the death!

He sets off a drill from his buster. Zero looks at Mac, Grizzly Slash, Web Spider, Magma Dragoon, and the remaining members of the 9th and 14th Units.

ZERO:
(coldly)
You fools... if you stand in my way, I will kill you.

MAC:

You're so full of it! After all these years, why are you turning on us now?!

ZERO:

THIS is who I am!! It wasn’t until now that I realized that this is my mission!

MAC:

No, I refuse to believe it... Just like X refused to believe it... You’ve been reprogrammed by the X-Hunters!! And if we can’t save you, mark my words, we will avenge you!!

Mac points up his buster. Grizzly Slash, Web Spider, and Magma Dragoon stand by Mac as the rest of the 9th and 14th Units stand behind them.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – East Corridor Tunnel - NIGHT

X runs through the tunnel as it twists downward into cold water.

X:

Finally, back inside! Now to find Serges.

X hops into the water and swims down. He shoots a swarm of Fisherns which came after X, and then swims further ahead, following the pipe. He swims up the pipe, taking down Partilasters that were waiting for him. He hops out of the pipe.

X:

Ah, that's much better!

X shoots a Sonic Slicer at a Partilaster that was crawling down to him. He kick-jumps up the pipe the Partilaster was on. He sees two Garukta bots waiting for him in another tunnel above. He fires a Spin Wheel directly through the robots, and walks through the tunnel. He sees more Partilasters below.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
More of them...

He fires another Spin Wheel which bounces down the walls and carves into three droids. He hops down the pipe and gets hit by another Parilaster.

X:

Ah!!

He fires back with a level 2 shot, then hops into the water.

X:

Man, this is a funky entrance.

X nears the low end of the tunnel and sees spikes rise up.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Damn them, they set up more traps for me...

X sees a probe floating in his way. He narrows his eyes and waits for it to float away so he could air-dash across the spikes to a narrow opening. He then sees another set of spikes ahead, which he dash-hops over. A probe makes its way towards him.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
The only way across is to trust that thing...

X dash-hops over to the probe and holds onto it. The probe takes X to the other side, where he slips down and air-dashes away. He sees another probe floating down to him.

X:

Let's do this.

X hops up to the probe and sees walls of spikes to his left and right. Above him, a flamethrower goes off.

X:

Whoa!

X walks off the probe and grabs its left side. He sees another flamethrower go off on his left side.

X:

Ahh!!

X climbs up to the other side of the probe and clings to it. Once he passes the flames, he hops up to the probe and sees a platform above.

-pan to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – East Corridor – 2nd Floor - NIGHT

X walks ahead and sees a huge line of spikes ahead of him.

X:

Oh man, I can't jump that...

Two Batton Bones screech at him. X pulls up his buster, but hesitates.

X:

Wait... I've got an idea.

He switches to Crystal Hunter and freezes the bat in crystal.

X:

Yes!!

He hops up on it and then sees another one fly at him.

X:

Crystal Hunter!

X shoots a blast at it, freezing it in crystal.

X:

That's it...

X hops across to the other side. His radar goes off.

RADAR:

Cannon Driver below, at close range.

X wall-slides down and sets up his Silk Shot. The Cannon Driver shoots at X, but X jumps over the shots and fires a Silk Shot from above, destroying it. He lands behind the Cannon Driver and sees a door ahead.

X:

This is it...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – East Corridor – Gateway - NIGHT

Pan to X's back as he walks up to the second gate.

SERGES:
(filtered)
Welcome to your demise, X!

X:

Serges!!

X walks through the gate and sees a wide open room, with spikes on the floor and a small narrow platform to stand on. A large Defense Tank waits across the platform. X hops on the platform and runs across it.

X:

This ends now!!

SERGES:
(filtered)
My sentiments exactly...

The Defense Tank moves forward. X guards himself and glares at the tank. Serges grimaces.

SERGES:
(thinking, v.o.)

X loses his balance and struggles to stay on his tiny platform as he is wildly flung around the room.

SERGES:

Hahahahaha! Goodbye, X!!

Serges takes a shot at X from a low laser turret on his defense tank.

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

ZERO:
(angry)
I've had ENOUGH of this!!

He runs through the wave of 9th Unit Soldiers and guts Poison Toad, Venom Varanus, Synge, and Scourge open with his Z-Saber.

POISON TOAD:

Nngh!

He kneels down and holds his bleeding stomach.

VENOM VARANUS:
(in pain)
Agh!

He falls to the ground.

SCOURGE:

Not... gonna make it...!

SYNGE:

Fall back!!! Sorry guys... we tried...

They all teleport back to the Medic Bay.

ZERO:

Anyone else?

He smirks.

MAC:
(angry)
You bastard!!

Magma Dragoon pats Mac on his shoulder and steps in front of him.

MAGMA DRAGOON:

Save your strength Mac... We’ll take care of this! Special Unit! Let’s teach him a lesson about loyalty.

Magma Dragoon cricks his neck from side to side. Frenzy Foxkit smirks as he cracks his whip. Turian puts his guard mask up and sets his blue visor down as Tethlon, Blizzard and Blaze guard themselves next to him.

TURIAN:

Ready when you are, boss!!

ZERO:

Bring it on.

Zero narrows his eyes and his fist begins to glow again.

MAGMA DRAGOON:

Attack!!

Turian and his gang attack Zero from four sides. Zero dodges their attacks and sets off a Giga Attack, knocking them away from him.

FRENZY FOXKIT:

Haaa!!

He jumps in after Zero and flings his whip at him. Zero takes out his saber, and the whip wraps around the beam.

ZERO:

What the...?

FRENZY FOXKIT:

Charge!!

The whip charges an electrical current through Zero.

ZERO:
(in pain)
Yaaaaah!

MAGMA DRAGOON:

That's it, Kit! We got 'im!

Magma Dragoon walks towards them confidently.

ZERO:
(darkly)
I don't think so.

Zero grabs Foxkit's whip and pulls him to the ground.

FRENZY FOXKIT:
(surprised)
Huugh...?

ZERO:

Haaaaaaah!!

Zero lifts Frenzy Foxkit up from the electrical whip and flings him onto Magma Dragoon.

MAGMA DRAGOON:

Oof!

Pan to Mac, Web Spider, and Grizzly Slash.

MAC:
(thinking, v.o.)
This is hopeless...

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Serges’ Lair – NIGHT

X is knocked off his platform by a laser and he falls down towards the spikes.

X:

Aaah!!

X quickly air-dashes upwards towards a platform behind him, just barely catching the floating disc. X quickly climbs onto it as Serges firs at X with all 4 turrets. The top turret fires a bouncing ball of plasma. The 2nd highest turret fires a blue laser disc around the room. His 3rd turret fires an upward plasma shot at X as he air-dashes away towards closer platforms. The platforms scatter around the room at high speeds, as the blue laser disc catches X in the chest and then the back.

X:
(in pain)
Aggh!!

X points his buster at the tank desperately. The bottom turret fires a thick laser at X right in the chest.

X:

Agh...

X fires back with a Silk Shot, destroying the bottom turret.

SERGES:

Ahh! No!!

Serges shifts the tank ahead, trying to crush X with the spikes.

X:

Ahh...

X kick-jumps up the turrets and is hit with a plasma shot and a blue disk.

X:

Ohhh...

SERGES:

Hahahaha, you fool! (thinking, v.o.) You are far more reckless than your predecessor...

X pants, looks up, and charges his buster.

X:
(panting)
Why am I a fool now...?

X grunts as a huge heap of junk fills his buster, waiting to be disposed. He points the buster towards the mid-section of the tank. The blast destroys the third, bottom turret and half of the 2nd disc turret.

SERGES:

Noooooo!!

Serges drives into X, crushing one of the platforms in the process. X narrows his eyes as he ducks. A blue disk misses X as he fires a Silk Shot at the 2nd highest turret.

SERGES:

Damn you, X!!!

Serges advances through the platform and blows it apart while X is still on it. X falls off and air-dashes to a nearby platform. Only two platforms remain as Serges fires at him with everything he can from his top turret. Bouncing plasma shots are fired at X rapidly as X tries to find an opening, hanging on to the haphazard platform carefully. X uses his radar, which points to the turret easily through the explosions that surround them.

X:

Gotcha!

X fires a Silk Shot at the top turret, destroying it.

SERGES:

Rrr, I hate you, Mega Man X!!

X smirks and switches to normal power.

X:

You only hate me because you're losing!!

X fires rapid fire into each of the damaged turrets. The turrets all explode, blowing the entire faceplate of the Defense tank off. Serges is now exposed in a tiny pod connected to the tank.

SERGES:

No!! This can't be!!

X scowls at him and hops to the pod.

X:

Serges!! You're mine!!

X grits his teeth as Serges stares at him with fear.

-cut to-

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

Zero punches Magma Dragoon down to the ground. Everyone on the runway is battle-ravaged and tired as they all look at each other. The 14th Unit passes out to the ground.

MAGMA DRAGOON:
(reluctant)
F-fall back... live to fight another day...

ZERO:

Hmph.

Zero walks towards Mac, Web Spider, and Grizzly Slash.

ZERO:

Had enough yet, Maverick Hunters?

The three watch Magma Dragoon teleport away with his 14th Unit.

WEB SPIDER:

What do we do now?

Grizzly Slash narrows his eyes.

GRIZZLY SLASH:

We fight!

ZERO:

Heh heh... Hahahaha!! Haven't had enough yet, have you...?

Zero takes out his saber.

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Damn you, Zeroooo!!

Grizzly Slash runs after Zero with his drill buster out.

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Hunh!!

He lunges toward Zero and misses.

ZERO:

Yaaah!!

Zero jumps up and gashes Grizzly Slash in the right eye, making him bleed out and lose an ocular piece.

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Huwaaaaaah!!

He holds onto his face and collapses in pain.

MAC:

Nooo, Gurizo!!

Web Spider narrows his eyes and dropkicks Zero.

WEB SPIDER:

How dare you?!

GRIZZLY SLASH:

Aghhhghhh... Web... Spider...

MAC:

Get out of here!!

GRIZZLY SLASH:

I'm not going anywhere!!

Grizzly Slash readies himself as he gets shot down by a charge shot. Web Spider looks up at Zero, then over to Grizzly Slash.

WEB SPIDER:

You don't have a choice...

He teleports Grizzly Slash away, then quickly spider-crawls towards Zero.

WEB SPIDER:

You!!

ZERO:

I’m gonna squash you like the bug that you are...

The two run after each other. Web Spider high jumps and dodges Zero's buster blasts as they speak.

WEB SPIDER:

Ya know something? I’m really glad I joined the 0th Unit after you died! I’d despise having to take orders from someone like you!!

ZERO:

Hahaha... Like I’d ever let an ugly bug like you be on my team...

Zero fires quick charge shots at Web Spider. Web Spider dodges the attacks as he advances towards Zero. He then high jumps and shoots out 5 spider babies.

ZERO:

Huh?

WEB SPIDER:

Feast, my children!

The babies fall towards Zero, who takes a step back as two latch onto his wrists.

ZERO:

What the?

WEB SPIDER:

Mm, yes... I’ll enjoy watching them drain you of your life force.

He forms a huge web behind Zero and knocks him into the web. He then crawls up on it and stares at Zero.

WEB SPIDER:
(quietly)
I'm going to eat you alive.

ZERO:

Noo...

WEB SPIDER:

Hahahahahaaaa!!

The rest of the spiders latch onto Zero's feet and torso.

ZERO:

You won't...!

Zero shoves his saber into Web Spider's stomach.

WEB SPIDER:

Huaaaaaaagh!!

He sparks from the chest, immensely hurt as he falls to the ground. The Lightning Web diminishes and the Spider Babies are destroyed immediately.

MAC:

Webs! Fall back now!!

WEB SPIDER:

Aaarrrgh...

Web Spider holds his wound as he teleports away. Zero looks down and glares at Mac.

ZERO:

I guess it's just you and me now...

Zero narrows his eyes and smirks.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Serges’ Lair – NIGHT

X kick-jumps off of Serges’ pod and shoots him with a direct Charge Shot.

SERGES:

Ough...

He is bleeding from the mouth.

X:

It's over, Serges!! Give up!

X charges up again.

SERGES:

It's not over yet, Maverick Hunter!

Serges shoots a green plasma ball at X. The ball splits into 4 separate shots upon contact.

X:

Ohh...

X stumbles onto a platform.

SERGES:

I’ve waited too long for this moment, X. Tonight, at last, the Legend dies!!

X:

If you’ve been waiting for so long, why didn't you just attack me from the beginning?

X dodges an attack.

SERGES:

Oh, but I have...

X:

Huh?

SERGES:

Tell me, X... where do you think the Mechaniloids came from in the first place, hmm??

X had wide eyes, as his mind flashed back to the attack on the Great Bear Forest last year.

-flash-

An image of Alpha and Beta Unit lying dead on the Forest Battlefield appears, as X turns away from the Computer screen at Hunter Base.

X:
(v.o.)
You!! You were the mastermind the whole time!!

An image of Vile tearing through a wave of Road Attackers, punching out Sludge Pig's remains and getting punched out by Sigma appears.

X:
(v.o.)
After all those battles... All those attacks..

X:

And all of our breakdowns...

At the Great Bear Forest, Sigma loses control of himself and fires off a purple blast of rage at the sky as the members of the Super Elite Unit look at him with trepidation.

X:
(v.o.)
You're the reason why Sigma became a Maverick!!

X points a finger at Serges.

SERGES:

In a word... yes.

Serges smirks.

X:

And you’re the reason why Zero’s not himself any more!!

-cut to-

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

A shadowed silhouette of Zero walks up to a silhouette of Mac who is on his knees, reaching out to him. Zero mercilessly kicks Mac in the head and walks away.

SERGES:
(v.o.)
On the contrary... Zero is acting exactly like himself. He is my Ultimate Weapon.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Serges’ Lair – Night

SERGES:
(continuing)
And soon, he will realize his true potential!!

X grits his teeth.

X:

No! I REFUSE to hear anymore of this!!

X powers up and glows dark blue and gold.

X:

This is OVER, Serges!! You HEAR ME?! It all ends NOW!!

X fires a super Sonic Slicer into Serges, which carves his body into pieces. He laughs as his body begins to short out.

SERGES:

Huhuhu... It's useless, X... You're doomed...

Serges smiles evilly.

X:

Haaaaah!!

He hurls himself over to Serges' pod and fires a Sonic Slicer into his chest.

SERGES:

Aaagh... my only regret... is being defeated... by the robotic memento of Light...

Serges explodes as his eyes open wide. Everything fades to white as an image of Zero, pure black, with demon wings on his back is shown.

SERGES:

(v.o.)

Avenge me, my son... You know who you are now...

Serges explodes and is reduced to ash.

-cut to-

EXT. X-HUNTER BASE - Runway Battle - NIGHT

Zero walks away with a dirty grin on his face when suddenly his head gem glows.

ZERO:
(in pain)
Aaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

He falls to the ground, writhing in pain.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Serges’ Lair – NIGHT

X looks at the aftermath of the explosion, when suddenly the platform he’s standing on powers down. He gasps and airdashes over to Serges' pod. X collapses on the pod, catching his breath, when the intercom goes off suddenly.

SIGMA:
(filtered)
Hahahahahaha!! It's been a while, Mega Man X...

X:

What?! Sigma!!

He sits up, startled.

SIGMA:
(filtered)
Somehow, the X-Hunter operation seems to have failed... but don’t relax just yet...

Suddenly the controls from the Defense Tank, automate on a track and reel X back, closer to a door at the edge of the room.

X:

Huh?! What the?!

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
Right this way, X... I've arranged for some new toys for you to play with.

X:

Sigma!!

A ROCKIN'-GREAT EPISODE!!! =D

Throughout the series up to this point, Serges would say things that gave us hints he was some sort of robotic incarnation of Dr. Wily, by calling Zero his masterpiece, the "hell on Earth he's risen" (Episode 10), his Ultimate Weapon, and finally, his "son". (Sigma once even calls Zero the "demon child" of Serges, also in Episode 10.)

This time, it is even more apparent when Serges references yet another aspect of Dr. Wily; that he has dealt with the legendary blue robot Mega Man in the past, time and time before.

What I really liked about him revealing this now, is, that because it's come down to Serges final showdown with Light's creation, "a last chance" so to speak, he's gotten much more desperate in his efforts to destroy the Maverick Hunter himself once and for all, and is more determined than ever before to be rid of him, upon reminiscing his past battles with Mega Man... all of which he has failed. Not even in his robotic incarnation could Dr. Wily kill Dr. Light's greatest creation, and X demonstrates that here.

I also really enjoyed the valiant fights against Zero that the other Hunters have continued from the previous installment. Awesome to see a crucial part of Grizzly Slash's character revealed in this episode, as well as a side of Web Spider we've never seen before! This was a fun read, as always.

The track on the automated defense tank takes X to the edge of the room, where a platform with a door is waiting for him. X puts in a sub-tank and recharges before he kick-jumps up a wall to the platform.

X:

Damn you, Sigma...

X runs over to the corridor door, recharged and irritated. As the door closes, the screen goes black.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Sigma's Lair - DAY

Sigma grins as he looks at his halogen screen.

SIGMA:

Hehehehehe... Serges... Good riddance! Hahahahaaaa!!

EXT. SIGMA FORTRESS – Main Gate – DAY

Caption: July 6th, 21XX.

SIGMA:
(v.o., narrating)
When we first met, you tried to overthrow my Fortress, using clones of MY Army!!

As the sun sets, Serges, Violen, and Agile stand in front of an army of cloned Mavericks. In a straight horizontal line, the former Maverick Leaders stand behind them - Chill Penguin, Sting Chameleon, Launch Octopus, Storm Eagle, Flame Mammoth, Spark Mandrill, Boomer Kuwanger and Armored Armadillo. A massive array of Hoganmer clones stand behind them. Sigma stares at the clones of his army in disbelief. A smaller army of organized Mechaniloids stand behind him.

SIGMA:

My men! But how could this be...?

All of their eyes glow red suddenly, and Sigma's eyes widen.

SIGMA:

Clones!!

-flash-

Serges smiles.

SERGES:

I am the great Serges, and I am hereby taking over this base! ATTACK!!

-flash-

SIGMA:
(v.o., narrating)
You were such a fool! These were my men! Which means... I knew exactly what made them tick...

Sigma's eyes glow purple. The Maverick Clones immediately malfunction as their inner circuitry struggles, making a "TZZ" sound.

SERGES:

What?!

Serges turns around.

SERGES:

My clones! What did you do to them?!

SIGMA:
(o.s.)
Hahahaha!!

As Sigma laughs, we zoom in on the clones' red, lifeless eyes. Their eyes turn purple, and they stop attacking Sigma's Mechaniloids.

-flash-

All of the clones turn to Serges, Agile & Violen and stare at them menacingly.

SIGMA:
(v.o., narrating)
You were a complete fool... and a complete coward!!

AGILE:
(fearful)
Lord Serges, we've made a grave mistake...

VIOLEN:

Oh god, boss! What do we do now?!

Serges stares at the ground, and then looks back up with fearful eyes.

SERGES:
(screaming)
Retreeeeeeaaaat!

INT. CENTRAL COMPUTER – Main Computer Room – DAY

Caption: August 10th, 21XX

SIGMA:
(v.o., narrating)
Then you stooped to your absolute lowest, and begged for me to join your little Resistance Army... Since you clearly couldn’t lead an army of your own, your only option was to build me a new body...

Sigma lays on a work table as he suddenly comes online.

SIGMA:

Hmm?

He sits up and looks at his new blue and yellow body in awe.

Serges, Agile and Violen peer out from the shadows of the room.

SERGES:

Hello, Sigma...

SIGMA:
(surprised)
You!

SERGES:

I knew we'd meet again...

-flash-

All three bow slowly.

SERGES:

We are hereby pledging our allegiance to you, Sigma.

SIGMA:

Oh really?!

Sigma sheathes his claws and folds his arms.

SIGMA:

And why should I trust any of you?

Serges looks up.

SERGES:

We have a common enemy in X. If we combine forces, I know that we can destroy him and the rest of those pesky Maverick Hunters.

Sigma grimaces.

SIGMA:

I will KILL X!! But that doesn't change anything between you and me.

SERGES:

We were foolish to try to overthrow your base. We should have joined forces from the very beginning.

Sigma looks at him in silence. Freeze on the scene.

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
The very beginning...

I began creating Mechaniloids of my own to rid the world of Humans. Then I realized that I wasn’t so different from the Mysterious Counter Hunter that got away... Ironic that it turned out to be you... And more fitting, like a fool, you tried to overthrow me instead of combining forces in the first place... Now that all was lost, you were trying to appeal to me... But it was too late. You had already lost my respect.

The scene unfreezes.

SIGMA:

...You are a fool to have challenged me. And you are even more of a fool to revive me! Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t destroy the three of you right now!!

SERGES:

...We have Zero. And in due time, we will be able to bring him back to his original state!

Sigma looks at them with wide eyes.

SIGMA:

...I'm listening.

SERGES:

Imagine what you could do with that kind of power at your fingertips. We have a Resistance Army that is ready and waiting for your command. All you need to do is give them the order and we can have the Maverick Hunters running ramped all over again as if nothing had ever changed!

Sigma begins to smile.

SIGMA:

Your plan intrigues me... Serges, was it?

SERGES:

Yes.

SIGMA:

Rise, Serges... We have an accord!

Serges rises up as well as his two minions. Sigma shakes Serges' hand, and they both smile.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Sigma watches X run through the corridors from his Halogen screen as he smiles.

SIGMA:
(amused)
His plan was intriguing enough... If I could just get Zero to face you in the same state he was in when I fought him... I thought we could really break your spirit this time. But we all know how that worked out, don’t we X?!

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - 2nd Floor Corridors - NIGHT

X runs through a green hallway as he hops down to a large room below. A Disc Boy waits for him, which X easily blows away with a charge shot. Two Batton Bones fly down to him. X shoots them, but a second Disc Boy throws a disk at X, hitting him.

X:

Ah!

X fires rapid fire, destroying the soldier. As X advances, a Pararoid hops down to him from an overhang as another Disc Boy throws his disc at him. X avoids them and jumps over the Paraloid to the overhang. Once inside, 4 more Pararoids hop after X, who charges up and takes them down with 2 Level 2 shots. Once he destroys the Pararoids he notices two pitfalls and a large wall ahead. X hops up the platforms and kick-jumps up the wall carefully.

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
Hehehe... After all the hard work I put into recruiting generals for the Resistance Army... You never ceased to amaze me...

EXT. DEEP SEA BASE - DAY

Caption: September 13th, 21XX.

Plasmanta Ray shoots Wheel Gator directly out of the Base, after Spear Marlin opens up the hatch. Vortex Orca stands, heaving at the doorway, held up by his team.

VORTEX ORCA:

Stay away from us, Wheel Gator... This is my team now. If we spot you trying to attack any one of us again, you will be hunted down as a Maverick. Mark my words.

Defeated, Wheel Gator picks himself up from the surface, pulls the Spear out from his chest and breaks it upon his knee. He then points at Vortex Orca with fervor.

WHEEL GATOR:

And you mark my words... You’re gonna wish... you never touched me... ALL OF YOU!!

Wheel Gator swims away from the base feeling completely livid. After a while, he catches up with Bubble Crab.

WHEEL GATOR:

You!!!

Wheel Gator tackles Bubble Crab to the ground.

BUBBLE CRAB:

Agh! Get OFF me!!

Bubble Crab sets off his Shoulder Plasma, which scorches Wheel Gator.

WHEEL GATOR:

Auuugh... It's time we finally settled this!

Bubble Crab puts up his fists and surrounds himself in a Bubble Shield.

BUBBLE CRAB:

You IDIOT! You ruined everything!! Things were going just fine once we won the war, but nooo! You couldn’t handle being under new management.

WHEEL GATOR:

I was the rightful leader!! Orca should’ve been taking orders from ME!!

BUBBLE CRAB:

You were NEVER a Leader.

WHEEL GATOR:
(growling)
I ALWAYS took Command!! Once Launch Octopus joined the Mavericks, Adler just took a vacation! It was just you and me on the battlefield, and we both know I was a lot more capable than you!!!

BUBBLE CRAB:

I always hated listening to you...

WHEEL GATOR:

I never liked you either...

Wheel Gator's eyes glow yellow. Suddenly, Sigma teleports in.

SIGMA:

Boys, boys! Relax!

WHEEL GATOR & BUBBLE CRAB:

S-sigma?!

SIGMA:

Hello.

BUBBLE CRAB:

You're aliiive! Oh my... g-g-g-

WHEEL GATOR:

Stand back, Crablos! I got this!

Wheel Gator swims in front of Bubble Crab and pulls out a Spin Wheel that spins fast in his hand.

SIGMA:

Hold on, wait!/ ...I have no quarrel with you...

At the dash, Sigma /puts up a firm hand, signaling for them to cease-fire. Then he folds his arms in front of him in a relaxed position.

WHEEL GATOR:

Huh?

BUBBLE CRAB:

You don't?

SIGMA:
(grinning)
Of course not! You’re no longer Maverick Hunters... That puts us on equal footing...

Sigma smiles. Bubble Crab has huge eyes of disbelief.

BUBBLE CRAB:

No it doesn't! We're nothing like you...

WHEEL GATOR:
(growling)
Yeah!

SIGMA:

Oh no?? You want riches, do you not?

BUBBLE CRAB:

H-how do you know that?

Sigma turns to Wheel Gator.

SIGMA:

And you seek revenge...

Wheel Gator grunts and looks away.

SIGMA:

What if I told you that we could have access to all of the grandest Rubies in all the sea?

Bubble Crab’s eyes widened.

BUBBLE CRAB:
(gasping)
You mean the Blood Rubies!? I thought those were only a myth.

SIGMA:

Oh no... they’re very real my friend.

BUBBLE CRAB:

I'm NOT your friend!!

WHEEL GATOR:

Who cares about a bunch of stupid Rubies...? I just wanna hurt something... Starting with you!

Wheel Gator spin dives into Sigma as he fires a Spin Wheel. Sigma quickly charges his arms as they glow purple. He sets up a huge Electric Wall as Wheel Gator gets caught up in it. Wheel Gator is massively shocked before he falls the ground, smoking.

BUBBLE CRAB:

Sigma!! You bastard...

Sigma looks down at Wheel Gator and narrows his eyes with an evil smile.

SIGMA:

I have a better idea... Why don’t you join me and take vengeance on your precious 6th Unit? Then I won’t have to kill you...

BUBBLE CRAB:
(irate)
WHAT!? No way!! I can’t forget what you did to us!! All those months ago... you tore us all apart!!

Wheel Gator shakes his head, hurt and confused.

WHEEL GATOR:
(hurt, confused)
Ahh... I... I'd... What's in it for me?

Bubble Crab looks at Wheel Gator, shocked.

BUBBLE CRAB:

What...? Alligates, you can't!!

WHEEL GATOR:
(hurt, upset)
I don't caaaare anymore...

SIGMA:

Hahahaha! That’s the spirit!! I will grant you a new team to lead, Alligates. You and Crablos could have your base back. And in the base, you’d be able to store all the Blood Rubies you want.

Bubble Crab’s eyes brighten. Then he slightly frowns.

BUBBLE CRAB:

I don’t want a new team! I don’t trust you... You’re just trying to bribe me with Blood Rubies!!

SIGMA:

Crablos, don’t you see?? A new Revolution is coming. The Maverick Hunters have tossed you aside. You are both yesterday’s news. It won’t be long until they begin to seek you out. The time to counter-attack is now!!

Bubble Crab frowns.

WHEEL GATOR:

Think about it Crabs... We’re not Hunters any more... They’re gonna come back for us and hunt us down anyway. We might as well have Sigma on our side...

Bubble Crab’s eyes are transfixed at the surface of the sea, as they finally glimmer. He eventually lets out a slightly evil smirk.

BUBBLE CRAB:

Did you say... I could have all of the Blood Rubies in the World??

SIGMA:
(smiling)

X kicks the control pad and it changes direction, this time floating upwards.

Caption: September 30th

Sigma teleports in to see a passed out Overdrive Ostrich.

SIGMA:

Rise, Ostrigo... You're better than this.

Overdrive Ostrich wakes up with a grunt.

OVERDRIVE OSTRICH:

Hmmm?

He looks over at Sigma.

OVERDRIVE OSTRICH:
(startled)

He stands up. Sigma tries to grab Overdrive Ostrich's arm.

SIGMA:

OVERDRIVE OSTRICH:

He runs away at sonic speeds.

SIGMA:

Sigma teleport dives into Overdrive Ostrich and catches him. The two land on the floor.

OVERDRIVE OSTRICH:

OVERDRIVE OSTRICH:

Sigma punches Overdrive Ostrich in the jaw.

Overdrive Ostrich looks up from the ground, hurt.

Overdrive Ostrich scowls at Sigma with a look of hatred. Sigma returns a soft glare with a smile as he extends his hand.

Join me!! Why don’t you become my comrade, and join forces with the Resistance Army.

Overdrive Ostrich looks up at him in disbelief and hops back, 3 feet.

OVERDRIVE OSTRICH:

You're a MAVERICK!! I'd NEVER join you!

SIGMA:

Not even if it was Sutomu's dying wish?

Sigma smirks. Overdrive Ostrich stands tall with a firm look on his face.

X hovers up to a ladder and climbs it. He dashes around an overhang, where a Tyrannos is waiting for him above. X shoots it down with a charge shot, as he dash-jumps up to the overhang. X climbs up a small ladder, and makes it to another Vertical Hallway.

SIGMA:

I had become confident in our emerging Resitance Army!!

EXT. MT. ST. HELEN – Volcano – DAY

Caption: October 10, 21XX.

Agile holds a blade to Flame Stag's neck. Flame Stag struggles and is startled by the sound of multiple teleports.

FLAME STAG:

Hmm?

Suddenly Magna Centipede, Wheel Gator, Bubble Crab and Overdrive Ostrich teleport in. Then Sigma teleports in front of them.

FLAME STAG:

Sigma!!

SIGMA:

It seems... that I may need your services after all...

Flame Stag looks at Sigma with fear.

I had gained, Magna Centipede, Wheel Gator, Bubble Crab, Overdrive Ostrich ...and Flame Stag!! The Counter Hunters even managed to snag a pet snail of their own!

X spots another floating platform, and rides it up the vertical passageway. He narrowly maneuvers around a Tyrannos and a Batton Bone as he ascends higher.

Caption: January 8, 21XX.

X walks up to the assembly line and scoops up a bunch of chips in his hand. The Sigma logo is printed on each chip. X narrows his eyes.

X lifts up the chips with both hands and crushes them with extreme prejudice.

X:
(yelling)
Aaaaaaagh!!!

X charges up in a fury and shoots the computer multiple times.

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
You destroyed nearly all of the Mavericks I had planned for you... I was just lucky enough to get the Morph Moth Experiment out safely... and give you a good scare in the process...

SIGMA:

X shakes his head, angered in disbelief.

X:

Damn you, Sigma!! Why don't you come out and fight me like a man?!

SIGMA:

Aww, don't worry, X. I won't make you wait too long. It's just that I have more important things on my mind right now... Like the obliteration of mankind!!

X hears some glass breaking from the corner of the room.

X:

Huh?!

X looks behind Sigma's hologram and sees Overdrive Ostrich pull out a canister from a Glass Chamber in the shadows.

Zoom in on Overdrive Ostrich, who bears a Sigma logo on his forehead. He gives X an evil smirk as he runs out of the factory while carrying a canister, labeled "Project M".

FLAME STAG:

Up here, X!

X looks up towards the ceiling and sees him hanging from some chains on the ceiling.

X:

Huh?

FLAME STAG:

CATCH!!

Flame Stag chucks a fireball at the oil behind X, which spreads through the whole room.

X:

Augh!

X tries to run out as the rest of the room catches on fire, but he trips and falls down on the floor, coughing. Struggling to get up, X looks at him with blurry eyes.

X:
(coughing)
F...Flame Stag?!

Flame Stag smirks.

FLAME STAG:

Hmph!!

INT. WEATHER CONTROL CENTER - Control Room - NIGHT

X blasts through Wire Sponge's body. A loud "KABOOM" sound echoes through the room.

WIRE SPONGE:

You even took care of a newborn Plant that night... Hehehe... That must’ve been hard on your soul.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – 5th Floor – NIGHT

As X, twists and turns up the passage way, he fires rapid fire at a Tyrannos on his left.

X:
(v.o.)
Yes, this is it! Almost there...

X reaches up to three platforms from his kick-pad as it gets stuck in between a crevice.

X:
(surprised)
Ah!

A Tyrannos fires at X rapidly. X dodges out of the way and shoots it down. Then he looks up.

X:

Hmm...

A Batton Bone flies down to X. He switches to Crystal Hunter and freezes it. As the Batton Bone freezes into a crystalline casing, he uses the crystal as a stepping stool to reach a higher platform above him. X then looks up to see a higher platform waiting for him as two more Batton Bones fly down to him. X narrows his eyes and freezes them in crystal. The two Batton Bones stack up upon each other, encased in crystal. X carefully climbs the crystals and dash-hops over to the high platform.

X:
(relieved)
Finally, back on the 5th floor!

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
After all of my planning... all of our plotting...

An image of the Dino Tank destroying Abel City appears. An image of the Neutron Missile flying towards Maverick Hunter Base appears. An image of Sigma, Magna Centipede, Flame Stag and the X-Hunters facing the Maverick Hunters in the lobby appears.

X proceeds onwards as two Batton Bones screech and chase him towards a wall of spikes.

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
You still managed to survive our relentless attacks! I was actually somewhat pleased to hear that you had not died!! It meant that I would still have a chance to exact my revenge...

X turns around and freezes them in crystal as well. He notices a ladder directly above him and below him.

X:

Hm?

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
But Serges... you fool...

INT. MAVERICK HUNTER BASE – Lobby – DAY

Both the Maverick Hunters and the Resistance Soldiers are down, as Serges hovers in, Control Chip in hand.

SERGES:

The prize is ours!! Retreat, X-Hunters! Retreat!!

He sees Sigma and Agile standing amongst the bodies.

SIGMA:

No... the base is ours. We will reclaim it now!

Serges narrows his eyes at Sigma as he hovers over to Violen, who is passed out and damaged.

SERGES:

The purpose of this mission was to reclaim the Control Chip, not their puny base!

Sigma points a finger at Serges.

SIGMA:

Just who do you think is the leader of this operation!?

SERGES:

Lest you forget who resurrected you!! The X-Hunters are falling back. You may do as you wish...

Serges teleports away with Violen. Sigma grunts with frustration.

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
We could’ve had it ALL that day, but you let your foolish obsession get the best of you... You and the X-Hunters deserved everything that happened to you!!

Agile looks over to Sigma.

AGILE:

Forgive him, sire. His obsession with his creation is beyond illogical to me...

SIGMA:
(v.o.)

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Sigma watches X on the Halogen screen. X is shooting down a Disc Boy as he nears a deadly spike trap.

SIGMA:

So this is it, X... We’ve come to the end of our journey... Let’s see how you fair with this trap.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – 5TH Floor – NIGHT

X's Radar goes off and focuses on the spiky terrain below him.

RADAR:

Warning. Spike Trap ahead.

X:

Mhm...

X acknowledges the trap as he aims and freezes a Batton Bone ahead of him. He carefully lands on the block of crystal and air-dashes over towards a small platform in between a set of spikes. Just above him, a set of deadly spikes are pointing downward at him. Two Garukta bots immediately come after X.

X:
(surprised)
Ah! /Phew...

X quickly /shoots a Spin Wheel at the bots, which tear through them. After a moment he sighs a breath of relief and air-dashes over the small set of spikes.

X:

That wasn't so bad...

X climbs up a set of platforms only to stop short at the sound of his radar.

RADAR:

Warning. Two Spike Traps below.

X looks down and gasps.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Damn... I have to get down there. It’s too dangerous to go back the other way...

X inches up towards the spikes and looks on carefully.

X:
(whispering)
Oh man... I know what I have to do.

X takes a deep breath as his armor switches to the color red and blue. As X exhales he keeps his eyes closed. Then he opens them as his body charges up.

X:

Haaaah!

X jumps across the set of spikes and sets off an air-dash as he almost flies into a wall of spikes. As he lands below, X quickly turns around and fires up a Flame-Dash in the other direction, away from the spikes directly below him. X rams into the opposite wall and hugs it as the flames simmer down, turning his armor back to its original blue state.

SIGMA:
(v.o.)
Incredible...

X:

Phew...

X wipes his forehead as he looks down a corridor. He hops down, sliding down the wall to his left. As X slides down his Radar goes off.

RADAR:

Holographic wall below.

X:

Huh?

X falls into a secret room. He walks across the hidden corridor to find a Light Capsule waiting.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Sigma pounds his fist against his throne.

SIGMA:

Damn it, Serges!! We should’ve destroyed this when we had the chance!

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Secret Room - NIGHT

The pink Capsule is locked before X, with 5 empty slots open at the bottom.

X:

Hm? Wait... I remember!

X opens his chest plate.

X:

I have to unlock it with these...

X pulls out two subtanks and places them into two empty slots. Then he pulls out two more and puts them in their corresponding slots. Then he pulls the red heart tank from his core. He holds it in awe as his hands glow red, and then places it at the center of the capsule's base. The light inside swells and forms itself into Dr. Light.

DR. LIGHT:

Wow, X... You came all the way here to see me...

X:
(surprised, smiling)
Dr. Light!

DR. LIGHT:

I’m so proud of you and all that you’ve accomplished so far. There is a very special surprise waiting for you inside... my latest peacemaker – the Dragon Punch!

X:

Dragon Punch?

DR. LIGHT:

Enter the Capsule quickly, X! There’s no time to waste!! Step inside... and tap into your inner potential once again.

Dr. Light fades. X walks into the capsule and is surrounded in light as his hands glow white. He looks at his hands, which are now glowing red, as they begin to swell with power. He pulls in his hands as they form a plasma ball. Then it turns to red.

X:

Hm?

He sees the plasma turn into fire, which engulfs his right hand.

X:

Haaaaah!

He punches with his fist as his eyes glow green.

X:

Dragon Punch!!

He leaps up into the air with a flaming uppercut. As X lands, he stares at his hand. The fire dies down quickly and fades away.

X:
(in awe)
Whoooaaa...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

SIGMA:

So be it, X...

Sigma narrows his eyes at the screen.

SIGMA:

Your power has reached a higher plateau. Now we’ll see what you can really do...

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Spike Corridor - NIGHT

X hops down from the room to a corridor on the floor below him. A long corridor filled with spikes and Paraloids greets him. X switches to Crystal Hunter power. He sees a gateway in the distance.

X:
(smiling)
Good... I’ve had enough of your traps Sigma! It’s about time we end this once and for all!

X runs onward and shoots out an array of Crystal Hunters. He uses the frozen Paraloids as stepping stones across the corridor. He freezes oncoming Paraloids and jumps on them, across to the gate. He stands before the gate and walks through.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
This is it... It's all over, Sigma...

-pan to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Gateway Room - NIGHT

X walks onto a platform. He surveys the room and notices that the center of the room has a crevice, which leads to a spike trap even further below the two platforms.

X:

Hm... Come on out, Sigma!!

A Jet Mech teleports in.

?????:

Oh, it’s not Sigma you should be worried about X... It’s me!!

X:
(shocked)
Agile?!

AGILE:

Never have I ever been so insulted in my entire life!! When last we met you would have met your demise by my blade - had your friends not been there to save you!

He sets his Mech on the other platform and glares at X. X closes his eyes and clenches his fist. It glows with red plasma.

X:

Agile!!!

AGILE:
(surprised)
Hm...?

Agile looks at X's glowing fist.

X:

After all you Counter-Hunters have EVER done to us - The Mechaniloid wars... The Abel City Missile Crisis... Sigma’s Rebellion!! All of it started because of YOU!! Your Resistance Army, the Chaos from the Weather center... the Deep Sea Tragedy, the Dino Tank Attack, the Neutron Missile attacks!! Countless innocents have been lost all for your selfish deeds!! I’ll never forgive you for hurting my friends!! For all of the pain you have caused us, I will give back unto you, 2,000 fold!!!

X shoots up and lunges towards Agile.

X:
(enraged)
Haaaaaah!

AGILE:
(fearful)
What?!

X:
(shouting)
Draaagooon Puuuunch!!

His fist punches through Agile's Jet Mech, causing it to explode.

AGILE:

Nooooo!! This cannot beeeeee!! Masterrrr, avenge meeeee!!!!

Agile's body explodes in a raging blast.

X lands on the other platform in the room as Agile's Jet Mech blows up.

AGILE:

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Sigma gets up from his throne as he stares at his monitor intently. He smiles.

SIGMA:

Heeheeheehee... I always knew it would come down to this... Now it’s my turn!

Sigma walks up the stairs, out of his lair. Insert title Card: Reunion of Vengeance.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Agile's Lair - Night

X kick-jumps on the right wall up towards a corridor door. He blasts through the door and runs through the corridor as it spins around in a semi-circle to the other side. On the other side, X walks through a slide door and finds himself in a vertical hallway.

X:

This must be it... I must be getting close to Sigma.

X kick-jumps to the top of the room. X notices 2 teleporters in the room that look like his Capsules. One is destroyed.

X:

Huh... A teleporter. I have no choice but to use it.

X goes inside and is teleported to a room that looks like the Central Computer Facility.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Wing - NIGHT

X:

What the?

X looks over and sees a large Halogen screen surrounded by 4 chairs. X notices that the sights are focused on the Runway outside, which looks like a bloody battleground. X clenches his fists.

X:

Zero... what did you do?!

X runs over as he notices a Barrier Attacker try to take him down.

X scowls as he runs on, taking down another Barrier Attacker. A 3rd Barrier Attacker gets in X's way as another Search Light trap slowly inches towards X. He dashes back, destroys the Barrier Attacker with rapid fire, and dashes ahead, underneath the Search Light. X takes down a 4th Barrier Attacker and quickly hops to a thin wall, which blocks the view of another Search Light trap. As X dashes away, a Barrier Attacker shoves X into the spotlight from behind, setting off the alarm. Suddenly Security Turrets fall from the sides and fire at X.

X:

Oh man...

X hops out of the way and fires rapid fire at them.

X:

Well, it's not like he doesn't know I'm here.

As X runs on he sees a computer terminal build itself up, away from X, in the same exact way that the ones from the Central Computer had. 4 stack up upon each other, and then a 5th one, which X climbs up. Before X, 5 more stack up on each other as well as a purple terminal. X shoots it down and receives the Energen lying inside it as he air dashes onward. As X walks ahead, another trap almost squashes him. X gets out of the way and uses rapid fire to evade from an oncoming terminal that tries to sandwich him into another.

X:

Phew...

X runs on. He dash hops past another Terminal trap, which almost takes him down. Further ahead, 6 more Terminals cut X off.

X:

Gah!! Sigma, I've had enough of this!!

X dash-hops over the Terminals to the Mother Computer Room.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Room - NIGHT

A gateway locks up behind X.

X:

Huh?

Zero's red gem shines in the room as his eyes brighten up. His armor is black as night.

X:

Z-Zero!!

X takes a step back and guards himself. Sigma teleports behind him and places his hands on Zero's shoulders. Zero's eyes glare at X.

SIGMA:

Look who I found wandering around, X! Allow me to introduce you to my new partner!

X:
(horrified)
No!!

SIGMA:

My friend here has a small problem with you... It seems that you let him die and he’s not too happy about that!! You may have been comrades back in the old days... but that was before Serges freed his mind... Heeheeheeheehee...

X stares at them in shock.

X:

You're all insane...! What have you DONE TO HIM?!

SIGMA:

You’re going to have to ask Serges... oh wait... You already took care of him! Hahahahaha!

Zero scowls at X.

SIGMA:

Now I think it's time he repays the favor!!

Sigma teleports away as Zero powers up.

X:

No... No! Zero!!

ZERO:

Heeyaaaah!!

Zero fires a huge yellow charge shot at X, taking him down.

X:

Ohhhh...

ZERO:

RAH!!

Zero hops onto X.

X:

No!!

X kicks Zero off.

X:

We've already been through this!!

X fires a double charge shot.

ZERO:

Guuuh...

Zero falls back. Then he immediately dashes towards X with a pink saber and slices him on the side.

X:

Auuugh!

X falls down and looks at the blade quizzically.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
His saber... it's... pink...?

Zero looks down at X.

ZERO:

Heheheheheh... This is Agile’s saber... Tonight I will avenge his death after what you’ve done to him!

Zero picks up the saber with two hands and chops it down towards X. X rolls out of the way.

X:
(enraged)
I did that for you, you FOOL!! We were all trying to SAVE you!! And this is how you repay me?? THIS is what you’ve BECOME!?

X charges up as his armor glows red and blue.

X:

Haaaaaahhhh!!

X flame-dashes into Zero.

ZERO:

Guuuh...

X punches him, and Zero punches X off of him, then kicks him far away. X gets up and dashes to the right, trying to circle around him.

ZERO:

Huurrrgh!

Zero punches his fist into the ground.

X:

Agh!!

X falls to the ground. The tile floor cracks all around them as the entire room becomes damaged. Zero fires 2 buster shots at X and throws his saber at him.

X:
(in pain)
Ouuaaaagh!!

X is impaled by Agile's saber.

ZERO:

Hahahaha... who’d had thought that it would ever turn out like this, X...? After all those times I carried you on my back...

X:
(hurt)
N-no...

X closes his eyes in defeat. Zero pulls out the blade from X's stomach and picks him up. He then tosses him to the floor like a ragdoll. Sigma teleports in.

SIGMA:

Hehehe... Very good, Zero. Now finish the job...

ZERO:

As you command, Master...

Zero smiles evilly and walks to X. A charging sound is heard from outside.

????:
(o.s.)
Haaaaaaah!!

Two yellow charge shots break down the Gateway as Zero tries to guard himself. A green saber is flung at him, damaging his core. A red Zero stands in front of X as he stares at the other one with hatred. The black Zero Clone falls to his knees as his body is surrounded with electricity. He pants as his gem flashes white. The red Zero points his buster at Sigma.

ZERO:

Sigma!! You should’ve studied the blueprints closer! There is only ONE ZERO!!

Zero charges up and fires at the clone in black. The clone immediately dodges and dashes out of the doorway behind him. Sigma panics as he backs up to the gateway behind him.

SIGMA:

Wait, Zero!! I know your secret. You were destined to follow me! I am not your real enemy!

Zero closes his eyes.

ZERO:

Maybe, but I still hate you.

SIGMA:
(angry)
D-DAMN you! Fine! If you won’t follow me, then I’ll just have to watch you die again!!

Sigma dashes out of the lair. X reaches out to Zero.

X:

Zero! Is it really you...?

ZERO:

Sorry to keep you waiting, X, but the pleasantries will have to wait... I’m sorry I caused you so much trouble.

Zero frowns.

X:

After all I’ve been through, all you’ve got to say for yourself is ‘I’m sorry...’!?

ZERO:
(shouting, annoyed)
Look!! We don’t have time for this! You need to go after Sigma right now!! Mac filled me in on everything! The base’s Main Computer is still infecting innocent people and turning them into Mavericks... I’ve gotta go after that Computer and destroy that blasted thing... Then, if you want, we can settle the rest of this later!!

X frowns.

X:

Take care of yourself, Zero... I don’t have time to put you back together again!

Zero winces and frowns.

ZERO:

Get going.

Zero crouches down and punches a hole through the floor, creating a shortcut for X. He looks up at X and smiles.

ZERO:

Here it is, X. Sigma lies just ahead!

Zero dashes away into the next room as X hops down through the make-shift tunnel.

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

X falls down through the dark barren tunnel. He is released into a wide, dark lair. X pulls out a sub-tank and recharges himself. He sees Sigma running down the stairs towards his lair, irate.

SIGMA:
(seething)
You are merely a bothersome insect, X!! It is about time that I crush you beneath my heel!! With this new body, I’ll bury you in an oblivion of darkness!

He unleashes his claws.

X:

No you won't!!

X powers up and his hand glows red. Sigma dashes to X, whose arm is engulfed in flames as he tries to uppercut Sigma. Sigma slashes X across the chest, flinging him to the wall. The force from the impact ricochets X off the wall.

X:

Auuugh...

X falls to the ground and gets up.

SIGMA:

I've been waiting a long time for this, X.

Sigma grins as he charges up and surrounds himself with 5 spark orbs. Sigma fires them at X. X tries to dodge them as they follow him to a corner. X kick-jumps up the wall and air-dashes over them.

X:

Whoa!

X runs towards Sigma with a charged buster.

SIGMA:

Yaaaah!!

Sigma dashes to X and claws him. X crouches and dashes to the side, and shoots a double X-Buster shot.

SIGMA:

Nngh!

He hops to a nearby wall, kick-jumps, and teleports away in mid air.

X:

Huh?

X looks around as Sigma appears in mid-air behind X. X turns around just as Sigma sinks his claws deep in X's shoulder blades.

X:

Aaaaagh!!

X falls to the ground and bleeds from his back.

SIGMA:

Hahaha, I've got you now, X!

X struggles to push himself up as Sigma sits on his back. Electricity surrounds X as his circuits fry inside.

X:

Agh...

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Mother Computer Core Room – NIGHT

Zero stares down the Black Clone as he arrives in the room.

ZERO:

Get out of the way, you cheap imitation.

Zero pulls up his buster and charges up.

CLONE ZERO:

Who’s the imitation...? You’re the one who decided to play the hero out of nowhere! You're delusional!

The clone glares at Zero.

ZERO:

Heh... I’d rather be delusional than lead a life like YOU!

Zero dashes to the clone, buster out.

CLONE ZERO:

Hahaha! You're such a fool!

The clone charges up and dashes after Zero as well. The two of them fire a Z-Buster attack.

BOTH:

Z-BUSTER!!

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

As X struggles on the ground his armor turns to light purple. X fires out a Strike Chain in desperation, which pulls X to safety. Sigma stands up.

SIGMA:

Hmph.

Sigma smiles as he charges up with a flash of yellow. He puts up a hand and forms a wall of pink electricity. As X turns around, the wall is fired at him.

X:

Ouuugh...

SIGMA:

How does it feel, X? How does it feel to know that after all of your training and all of your battles in the field... You’re still WEAK!! You will always be nothing compared to me!!

X gets up, panting with his shoulders slumped.

X:

Tell me, Sigma... How did you come back to life after I killed you?

X smirks darkly. Sigma scowls.

SIGMA:

I never died!! It was only a matter of time before my spirit could return in a physical form that was suitable enough.

X:
(smug)
That’s your way of telling me that someone found your control chip and built you a new body, isn’t it...? I’ll bet you that it was Serges, right!?

X smirks.

SIGMA:
(enraged)
Hmph!!

X:
(growling)
Am I right?!

X charges after Sigma and punches him. Sigma grabs X's fist and throws him to the other side of the room. X charges up and turns red.

X:

Haaaah!!

X fire dashes to Sigma and tackles him to the ground.

X:

ANSWER ME!!

X punches Sigma in the face.

SIGMA:

Aghhh!!

Sigma scowls and grabs X by the throat and chokes him. He holds X up in the air.

SIGMA:

I hate you with every fiber in my being, X. Serges and I shared that common trait!

He throws X to the ground.

X:

Ough!

SIGMA:

That should answer your question.

Sigma surrounds himself with power orbs and fires them at X. X gets hit by two before he rolls and dashes away to safety. X charges up and grits his teeth. He fires a double charge shot that hits Sigma in the chest and makes him fall back.

SIGMA:

Agh!

Sigma dashes after X and teleports into his face, hitting him with a strong slash across the chest. X is flung into the wall and ricochets off towards the middle of the room again.

X:

Aaaack!!

X dashes away as he remains in a crouch, panting. He coughs up a bit of blood.

SIGMA:

I bet you don’t have much energy left... Even if you do use your reserve tanks...

Sigma grins. X's red gem flashes.

X:
(coughing)
Kah... Sigma... I will defeat you.

X wipes his mouth.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE – Mother Computer Core Room – NIGHT

Zero and his clone clash sabers and glare at each other as they butt heads.

ZERO:

Why won't you just die?!

CLONE ZERO:

I am the last X-Hunter... I will never give up until I carry out Sigma’s mission!

ZERO:

Hahaha! You idiot! That was Serges’ deranged mission; not Sigma’s!

Zero spins around and tries to slash at his side. The clone parries the attack.

CLONE ZERO:

Serges was my creator, but Sigma is my Master.

The clone kicks Zero's side. Zero narrows his eyes, pulls up his buster, and fires rapid fire at his clone, who pulls up his gauntlet and deflects the attacks. Zero closes his eyes and smirks.

ZERO:

Hm... I may have been created by Serges, but I answer to NO ONE! Especially Sigma!!

Zero dashes into his clone, which grabs him by the hips.

ZERO:

HAH!

Zero punches his clone in the face. The clone headbutts Zero's fist, cracking his head-gem in the process.

CLONE ZERO:

Uaaagh!!

The clone is sizzling electricity all over.

ZERO:

There ya go!

Zero smiles and knees the clone in the gut.

CLONE ZERO:

Kaaaugh!

Zero steps to the side as the clone falls to the ground, curled up in pain.

ZERO:

Hyaaaaah!!

Zero slices the clone's head off with his gauntlet. The clone bleeds out as it sparks from the neck up.

ZERO:

That one's for me...

He pulls out his Z-saber and impales the clone in the chest.

ZERO:

And this is for X.

The clone begins to explode around the Saber wound and all over its body.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

Sigma teleport-dashes all around X.

X:
(thinking, v.o.)
Come on, X... think!

X takes a deep breath, switches to Sonic Slicer power, and aims his buster at the wall, firing a few slicers to ricochet around. Sigma teleports above X, but a Sonic Slicer catches him in the neck.

SIGMA:

Whaaagh!!

Sigma falls down and holds his neck. Two more fly into his shoulder blade and back. Sigma starts to bleed from both sides.

SIGMA:

Urgh...

Sigma looks at X, disgusted. He fires 5 bolts of electricity at X, who dashes out of the way, kick-jumps off the wall, and air-dashes to Sigma and charges up.

X:

Haaah!

X fires a Charge Shot at Sigma's chest, knocking him down. X dashes away and fires more Sonic Slicers at him.

SIGMA:

Urhh!

Sigma teleports away. The slicers ricochet back and bounce off the ceiling as he teleports in from further away. Two slicers carve his chest.

SIGMA:

Arrrgh, damn you, X!

Sigma falls to his knees.

X:

It's over, Sigma!!

X points his buster at Sigma and charges up. He fires a Charge shot.

SIGMA:

Never!!

Sigma dashes into X and claws him to the ground, sticking a claw into his chest plate.

X:
(struggling)
Ahhh!

SIGMA:

I'm gonna cut you to the core...

Sigma digs his claws in deeper.

X:

G-Giga Crush...

His armor glows white as the room glows with white light.

SIGMA:

What the-?! NOOO!!

Sigma's body disintegrates. X pants as the white light fades away, and he sees the room covered in rubble. He sees the floor above him.

X:

Took long enough for the reserve power to kick in...

X smiles and puts in his last full Sub-Tank. He takes a deep breath.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Core Room - NIGHT

Zero stands before the Mother Computer as he gets a com-link from X.

X:
(filtered)
Zero, it's me! I finished it!

ZERO:
(gasps)
Great work, X! I knew you could do it. I'm shutting down the Mother Computer right now...

He types in various commands. A small green grid of Sigma's head appears.

ZERO:

Wha?

SIGMA:

Not so fast, Zero... the fun has only begun!

Sigma's cyber head grows on screen and comes to life offscreen as his head appears before Zero.

SIGMA:

Hahahahahaaaa!!

The head looms over Zero.

ZERO:

Sigma!!

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Sigma's Lair - NIGHT

X holds his hand to his ear piece.

X:
(desperate)
Zero! What's going on?!

ZERO:
(filtered)
X!! It’s Sigma!! He came back in some sorta cyber form!! You gotta get in here quick!!

X:

Oh man!

X runs to a spiral staircase and dashes up.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Core Room - NIGHT

SIGMA:
(maniacally)
Weeeeell, if it isn't Zero!!

ZERO:
(annoyed)
What the hell are you, another backup program?

SIGMA:

Oh no... This is my true form...

Zero's eyes widen.

ZERO:

What?!

SIGMA:

Hahahaha... You should’ve joined me when you had the chance!

ZERO:

I'd never join the likes of you!

SIGMA:

That’s what they all said... before I POSSESSED THEM!!

Sigma glares at Zero and hovers to him.

ZERO:

Ah!

Zero dashes away.

SIGMA:

Take this, Zero!

Sigma opens his mouth and fires a beam at Zero's back.

ZERO:

Kaaugh!

Zero falls to the ground, damaged.

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Spiral staircase - NIGHT

X runs up and hears everything over his com-link.

X:

Zero, hold on! I'm coming!

-cut to-

INT. X-HUNTER BASE - Mother Computer Core Room - NIGHT

Zero gets up on his feet and charges up. He fires a yellow charge shot at the Mother Computer, which causes Sigma's head to glitch for a moment before reverting back.

ZERO:

Hah... Looks like I can still put you in your place after all...

SIGMA:

Heeheehee... My Mainframe is linked to the entire Fortress. If you destroy me, this room and the entire base will EXPLODE!!

Zero frowns as Sigma narrows his eyes.

ZERO:

Guess that’s a risk I’m just gonna have to take!!

He fires rapid fire at Sigma. All of the shots reflect off.

SIGMA:

Hahaha! Fool, that won't work!

Sigma fires two grid-spheres at Zero. One turns into a Scriver, and the other becomes a Tyranos.

ZERO:

Hm?

Zero shoots them down.

SIGMA:

Fascinating, isn’t it? By linking directly into the mainframe, I can produce my Mechaniloids at any given time! All on my own!!

Zero looks at Sigma in disbelief. A charge shot hits Sigma's head from behind.

X:
(shouting)
You're insane, Sigma! When is enough gonna be enough?!

X points at Sigma.

SIGMA:
(ecstatic)
X, you made it!

ZERO:

Now it's a party...

Zero pulls up his hand and clenches his fist. His gem and fist glow blue as he focuses.

ZERO:

Hmmmmmm...yAH!!

Zero rams his fist into the floor and sets off a crater of plasma that hits Sigma's head.

SIGMA:

Ouuaaagh!!

The colors of his lines switch to blue.

SIGMA:

Damn you...

X:

Good work, Zero!

X charges up again.

SIGMA:

Raaaah!!

Sigma fires a beam to the ground from his mouth and inches towards X. X kick-jumps up the wall and fires a Double Charge shot at close range. Meanwhile, from the other side, Zero shoots two heavy yellow buster shots.

SIGMA:

Agh!!

His structure changes colors from light blue to dark blue.

SIGMA:

Nooooo!

X switches to light purple.

X:

I promised Wire Sponge I'd use this...

X fires a charged Strike Chain through Sigma's head.

SIGMA:
(in pain)
Urrrgh!

Sigma fires a wave of cyber eggs that transform into Mechaniloids: two Fisherns, two sets of Tyrannos and two Scrivers. Zero shoots them down, collects their Energen, and then pulls out his saber.

ZERO:

Come on, Sigma!

Zero hits Sigma with close range attacks as X whips Sigma's head. X whips up at Sigma's chin while Zero slashes his saber across Sigms's forehead. The Mother Computer behind them begins to short out and spurt out little bits of electricity as Sigma's coloring switches from dark blue to purple to light orange.

SIGMA:

Damn you two... I will not lose!!

He fires a huge wave of Mechaniloids at them, but X and Zero tear through them easily, restoring their Energen as they do so.

ZERO:

Heheheh, Sigma, you desperate fool...

SIGMA:

What?!

Zero throws his saber at him and stabs Sigma in the eye.

SIGMA:
(in pain)
Aaaaaaugh!!

His head spins as his grid pattern becomes dark red.

ZERO:

You don’t realize that we’ve already won.

SIGMA:

You haven't won ANYTHING!

Sigma begins to teleport all around the room.

ZERO:

Hmm?

Zero and X look around.

SIGMA:
(o.s.)
If I can't repossess you...

Sigma forms around X.

SIGMA:
(cont'd)
I'll possess X!

X:

Whaaa?! Aaaah!!

X struggles.

ZERO:

No, X!!

Zero fires a lot of charge shots, but they all reflect off of Sigma.

SIGMA:

Hahahahahaaa!! Yes! This is PERFECT!!

X:

Noooo!! I won't let you do this...!

X's red gem glows and his eyes glow green.

X:

Sigmaaaaa!!

SIGMA:
(shouting)
It's no use, X! You're mine now!!

X:
(shouting)
No! I won't let the darkness take me!!

X clenches his fist tightly as it glows with red plasma.

X:

Draaaagoooon PUNCH!!

His fist lights up and his arm is engulfed in red flame. He soars up into an uppercut as he breaks out of Sigma's head and destroys the barrier around him.

X:

Haaaaaahhh!!

SIGMA:

Noooooo!!

Sigma's head shakes and it shrinks inside the Mother Computer as the entire mainframe begins to explode.

SIGMA:

X, I’ve lost to you again... but any degree of new power that you achieve can be matched... Each defeat only makes me stronger, and will ultimately serve to bring you closer to your doom! If you think any of your victories have ever been worth anything – they’re not!

Zero narrows his eyes and smirks.

ZERO:

Shut up and die already.

More explosions come out of the Mother Computer.

SIGMA:
(struggling)
Why, Zero...? You were... last... of.. The Docttttor's... creationzz... Guaaaaaah!!

The Mother Computer explodes, surrounding the entire room with it.

ZERO:
(urgent)
We have to get out of here!

X:

Yeah!

The two teleport out.

-cut to-

EXT. NORTH POLE - Barren Cliff - DAY

The sun slowly rises as X and Zero teleport to a nearby cliff a safe distance away from the exploding X-Hunter Base. They both take a deep breath and stare at the explosions.

DR. CAIN:
(v.o.)
Joined by his friend Zero, X gazes out over the sea. Sigma has once again been destroyed, but X wonders if the fighting will truly end. Was Dr. Light’s dream of a world in which reploids and humans lived together in peace merely a dream?

X:
(v.o.)
The price of peace is often high...

DR. CAIN:
(v.o.)
Who or what must be sacrificed for the dream to become a reality? And when the time comes... will X be able to do it?? The future holds the answers... or does it...?

X looks at Zero, and they share a solemn look as the sun shines down on them.

Great work on Episode 16!!! =D

I really enjoyed how Sigma reveals more of his his true feelings about the Counter Hunters and his army of former Maverick Hunters, and all while X is taking down baddies and making his way to the final battle!

Cool back-story on how Bubble Crab and Wheel Gator, and Overdrive Ostrich were convinced to fight against the Maverick Hunters and join Sigma's side. Though they resisted at first, Sigma uses his manipulative ways to promise them their greatest desires as a reward, while he took advantage of the respect Ostrigo had for Storm Eagle as well. I liked that they didn't just agree right then and there to side with Sigma, as in "Yeah, the Maverick Hunters are being big bad meanies to us, so let's join you!" They actually struggled with their decision, as other former Hunters did before joining Sigma.

Also, Flame-Dash for the win! That brought back some good memories. Plus, an awesome debut of X's Dragon Punch!


And Episode 17 was LOADS of fun!! Almost too much fun to read, haha! The flow of how everything played out in this episode is perfect. EXCELLENT WORK!!!!!!!! =D I loved everything about it, especially Zero's lines. ^^ And Sigma getting his ass handed to him by our two heroes!

I enjoyed that bit of drama where we think above all else that X would be the happiest he's been in a long time at seeing Zero again, but then he is rather more angry than relieved and joyful at seeing him. It's because X has been so physically and emotionally strained after countless battles against more former comrades, and on top of that, dealing with a Maverick-Zero more than once in the process, that Zero's "Hi! Sorry. Later!" quote is the last thing he needed from someone's he's been fighting to get back all this time. But X being mad at Zero only means he cares about him. It makes me think about those good films where a character we think is dead comes back surviving, and before the emotional reunion-hug, they get slapped by their significant other who shouts " Damn you! Where have you been?! Don't scare us like that ever again! " XD

There's an Epilogue Episode that may or may not be on the way.

I want to continue to expound on the drama between X & Zero some more, before they bring it all back in, before Season III comes around. And I feel that by ending it here at Episode 17, that it ends too abruptly and without much resolve.

But anyway, I'm glad you loved reading Episode 16 & 17.
16 is a parallel to Serges' thoughts on everything from ep. 13. In lieu of a boss-rush, Sigma's memories were gonna have to do, which I thought was a fun choice - to get inside the head of the villain one last time, before the big battle ahead.

And 17 was a frickin' blast to write! I surprised myself and had so much fun in that final battle with the Sigma Head.


This whole Season has been so much fun to write from start to finish. My only regret is that it took too long to post up.

Padding? Can't be too hard to pad it up a little. Recapping events and such is usually a cheap way to do it. Such as, in the beginning, have a recap of the events or something. Or have Dr. Cain typing his journal on the events. Thats a good few minutes of padding right there. Maybe have him toss in his opinions and thoughts and such.

In fact, following Cain a while doesn't seem like a bad idea, given his presence in the events tends to be kind of limited given he's at base all the time, in a lab or in a conference and such.

I dunno. would be nice to see anyway. if anything it can be part of the last episode, just making the last episode slightly longer.
