Am I The Only One Who Likes X7? Lately I've noticed that I am one of the only people who likes X7.

Untrue. Many of the stage bosses are ex-Hunters. Each of them faced X and Zero as equals.

I'm okay with X7. It is the weakest point of the X series, but I would give it a 6/10 if I were to score it. It is an underwhelming game (especially considering what it could've been and in comparison to any of the other X games), but it is still playable. I find it ridiculous that I've heard people saying they prefer Sonic 06 over X7 because I've played both and I can play X7 without any exploiting glitches. Sonic 06, on the other hand, I can't even beat the game without being a cheap asshole because of how glitched the game is.

However, if there is anything that kills X7 for me, then it would be that the game feels somewhat monotonous compared to the rest of the series. This is no example more evident than Crimson Palace. Most notably with the re-fights. I have no problem with re-fights (I enjoyed them in any other MMX game), but in X7, they did not need to have as much of a health increase as they did. Too much of a long, monotonous slog. A large chunk of the game feels a bit bland and uninspired compared to most X games. It's a shame that the stage where the most inspired points (the Red fight and the Sigma bosses, which I enjoyed...as usual) are in the most monotonous stage in the entire X series. The load times were also long, but I have seen much, much longer (*cough*Sonic 06*cough*).

X7, also did a few things right. The introduction of switching characters on the fly is a nice touch that should've been implemented much sooner (despite X8 taking this concept to greater effect). And admittedly, some of the bosses were well designed (both Sigma fights, Red, Vanishing Gungaroo, Splash Warfly, and Snipe Anteater). Graphics were pretty good, too. And the music (apart from a couple of generic tunes) is as good as we have come to expect from this series.

In short, X7 is a very flawed experience that could've been WAAAAY better than it was, but as is, I'm glad I played it.

X4, on the other hand, is a great game and my 3rd favorite game in the series. The only reason that X8 and X5 are superior games is because I've played of X4 so many times that it has become the easiest game in the X series. It literally presents no challenge to me (not even with Final Sigma) and I can beat the game within 2 hours (or less) as Zero if I was inspired to do so. Despite it's lack of difficulty (for me), I still have fun playing it.

Also, I found this stream funny even though I am mixed on X7 and these guys outright hate this game. However, you better have time because this is a nearly 4 hour stream (half of it in Crimson Palace).

I have to say....The 2D and 3D mode like this does interests me. I'd tried to ignore one of worse X7 voice actors.

But still, you're not alone that still likes X7. I made a decision to get to play this again some day.

I've always thought X7's load times were pretty standard.

Same here. I don't remember it taking any longer than the other PS2 games at the time.

By the way, one thing that stood out for me in X7 is how you upgrade the characters. It reminded me of upgrading the buster in Megaman Legends. It really felt like progressing was more rewarding.
