Although I want to be 100% faithful(?) to the original plot of the series (japanese), if this game will be developed under the "Megaman X" name I think we must use the american terms,locations, and timeline.

The problem with Sigma is that he's twice as big as X, so making a sprite sheet based on his X1 form will be tough. I suggest use 3D models or other sprite sheets for references. There just isn't enough resources to cut corners.

Sadly, we don't know almost anything about spriting, so we just have a concept and we are searching somebody who make it real :/

Here is a YT vid showing how you can make a character with limited frames for animation. So instead of making Sigma run like X, you can just make him walk, and that will cut down the frame count by half.

Finally we decided to start doing the sprites of sigma ourselves. None of us know too much about spriting (from -almost- scratch), but we need to progress with something. If some of you want to work with our design and improve it, please proceed, your help will be welcome ;)

I'm sorry, but at the moment we already thought about the characters that will appear. We invented some for the Mavericks, but we don't have planned to create some "good guys". Maybe he would appear as an extra or cammeo on the background...but before of that, I don't who is your character xD. Is he a Maverick Hunter?

We have some news. We stoped the programming for a while, but we are working in music (thanks to Vaankar and a friend of him; Chuy) and spriting. Here are some examples of the sprites:






Sadly, Ermac started his classes at University and I will start near to April. After that, the project will progress very slow. I hope more people (with more time ^^') want to collaborate with this ;).

The animation is pretty jumpy. It kind of looks like he has a limp. I saw in the thread someone suggested just using a walking sprite. That might work better for Sigma because his stride is quite long. It looks a little odd.

We tried that, but was even more oddly than this. The problem is not the stride (we can make him faster than X 'cause his height), but that I (the person who made the animation) never made a sheet before. This animation is a kind of prototype, a prototype I hope somebody fixes in the future.

That's actually not that bad and it works for Sigma to be honest. Only issue is that the jumpiness needs to be fixed. Probably some shading, and the head would definitely have to move correctly. It'd definitely help and look a lot better.

For a prototype though, that's pretty good.

At first I was too lazy to do any sprites...
But then I saw your Sigma sprites and it was... unacceptable
So I will fix that, and if I have more time I will do more stuff for Sigma....

HE is not a hunter he is a bounty hunter and the X head or Zero head is very ......of a big price,later i upload a picture of him

I don't know if it could fit. I mean, X was just a lame B-class hunter and nobody knew anything about Zero existence. Maybe Sigma's head could have a big price, but I don't think that we can use him :/

In this game, Vile is a Maverick Hunter, a brutal one, but it is.

So, I don't know we could use him in the game (we already have a plot). A cameo is the only thing that I can think
