A gentle breeze flow through the air, the sun beaming down its warm and gentle rays upon the grassy land. The calm sounds of nature could be heard as a small, orange furred fox lie curled up next to a crystal clear lake. This scene, as beautiful and calm as it was, was nothing more than just a dream.
The image was formed in the mind of the afore mentioned fox's mind as she stayed curled up in the white snow, a small flame burned near her to keep her warm. The thought of a peaceful summer day was supposed to keep her warm. Instead, it'd only made her miss the warmth that could only be experienced during the middle of the year.
"I hate the cold," she mumbled to herself. She then made a sigh, having her ear twitch as the sound of an approaching creature came to her. Raising her head, she awaited to see who'd appear before her. The smell of a familiar scent filled her nostrils as the steps' sound became louder and louder.
A tiny, chick-like mammal walked in front of her. Its feathers were a mix of the colors orange and red, a fusion of the colors symbolizing flames. There were blue berries perched on its back, as well as one placed in its mouth. The fox seemed to smile, standing on all fours as she began to speak to it.
"You know Mikay, it's always funny to see you come back with a heavy load like that," She'd joke. It was obvious the fox knew this "Mikay" female.
Spitting the berry out of her mouth, she'd responded to her comment, "You know Foxy, a 'thank you' would be more appreciated than a rude comment. Aren't Vulpixes like yourself supposed to be more refined than that?" The two then burst into a giggling fit as the friends joked with each other.
"You're right, thank you for getting the food. We'll need our strength for tomorrow's adventure!"
"Not to mention a good night's rest," the pyro colored animal had responded, taking one of the excess berries on her back and eating it contently.
The fox had nodded, inhaling for a moment, then blowing a small amount of flames out of her mouth to keep the fire alive. Her tail had make a quick flicker as she thought excitedly about the adventure the two would soon have.
The torchic then took a seat into the snow, making certain to sit near the fire to stay warm. She'd closed her eyes, her body relaxing as she prepared to fall asleep.
As the two were fully ready to take their well deserved rest - another being approached them. Before the vulpix had enough time to return to her peaceful position, she'd sensed the presense approaching. Her instincts told her to turn and ready herself for battle. A small, tired bulbasaur emerged from the snow covered forest.
Stumbling over, the green creature took another step closer to the two, only to fall into the snow. Hearing the sound of a body hit the floor, the pyro colored mammal opened her eyes and stood up, running up to her companion.
"Who's that?"
"Dunno, but he's hurt. Hold on." The one known as "Foxy" grabbed a berry, rushing towards the apparently injured plant-like creature. Being cautious, she'd carefully taken her steps towards it. Dropping the berry from her mouth onto the snow, she had taken a step backwards.
Making a slight grunt, the male had stood - blinking his sapphire blue eyes as he noticed the food - and graciously ate the snack.
"Th-thank you, I appreciate it," he had said graciously. Standing on his paws, he had nodded his head to her in appreciation.
"Don't mention it. You alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Lack of food will do that to you. Well, that and Grass types don't mix with the cold," he had joked, trying to lighten the obviously tense mood surrounding them. The two creatures who stood before him were of fire, he of grass. If they were to fight, he would surely lose.
The two friends gave each other a glance, then returned to the warmth of their fire.
"Well," Mikay began, "if that's all then you can leave now."
The bulbasaur's body was shaking vigoursly as the cold had such a major effect on him. Being a plant-like creature, he had not the body for such weather.
"I ... I hate to ask, but would you mind sharing your fire with me?"
Turning her head in a slow, elegant manner, the vixen had blinked her eyes for but a moment as she looked the creature up and down. It seemed as though she were taking the time to process his question in her mind.
"Look, not to be rude or anything," Mikay had said - breaking the silence, "but we don't really know you and it seems kind of weird."
"Now now, no need to be hasty. After all, if he does anything we disapprove of ..." As the female spoke, her stare on the male had seemed to grow more solemn. "We can just burn him, right?"
Making a small, nervous chuckle. "Thank you. I truly do appreciate it. Oh! The name's Myko. What are yours?" He then went to join the women, placing his rear onto the ground and enjoying the warmth of the flames.
"Mikay. You can call her Foxy," responded the Torchic. Though her words may have sounded harsh, she'd actually given him a smile as she spoke, displaying her ability for friendliness.
Myko nodded, acknowledging he'd heard her words, and closed his eyes as he began to rest his head on the ground. "Foxy" had grown weary of the sleep deprivation. She had noticed that Mikay too, had prepared herself for sleep. Thinking it best to rest as well, her eyes drifted to a close. Tomorrow's adventure was soon to begin and when she awoke, the nervousness surrounding the male's appearance. By morning, he should be gone. As this final thought crossed her mind, dreams began to occupy her mind.

Merry Christmas everyone. I've written this as a present for a couple of friends and thought I'd share it.
(I'd like to point out, when I posted it - it has spaces and tabs to make it actually look good. I'm reading it on here now ... it looks like a wall of text. I'm sorry.)
