Now, being a generally pessimistic person I'd like to bring up a few poitns first.
- I am still not sold this actually exists. For one thing, the copyright on the image says 2007. Second, of all the series, Classic, X, and Zero are the least likely to get an MMO. I am of the firm belief that until official word comes from Capcom, this is just a rumor at best
- If this thing is 3D, is it going to be any good? The Legends series, though having a great cult following, wasn't exactly a great game in my opinion. The Battle Network/Star Force games range from mediocre, to bad and I think most of you know my loathing of X7 as well. Like Sonic, Castlevania and Contra, Mega Man is a series that is best done in 2D until proven otherwise
- On top of being 3D, this is apparently an MMO, another phrase that doesn't exaclty pop into my head with I think Mega Man
- As of right now this looks to be for Asian markets and Japan only, so all of us are out of luck unless they decide to bring it over here.
- No idea who NeoWiz is, which scares the crap outta me
- Will I even be able to play as X in this?
NOW.....after saying all that, I want to let you guys know certainly hope this is real. Mostly cause X looks like such a badass in that pic (usually its Zero hogging all the badass shots haha). It's been 5 and a half years since X8, the last new game staring X (no MHX doesn't count as it's a remake) and even if this is just a game that features all the Mega Men......its better then dealing with just Exe, Lan, Geo, Omega Xis and everyone else from those games and only getting a little bit of classic series action as a side note.

In addition about that MMO idea. It's awesome but what Inafune-san had stated, 3D isn't the way to go for X...but staying optimistic here!!

A theory I have is that maybe that planet hanging in the sky is actually Elysium in it's final stages hanging close to earth due to the orbital elevator.
Another theory I have is that the game probably takes place during the 100 year interm from when Zero went into hypersleep and you play as a custom hunter to fight alongside X with all the many more mavericks arising which you would technically be a soldier in the Maverick Wars.

Or even mroe likely, the planet int eh backround is meant to symbolize the online aspect of it haha.

My theory of the planet is that it is Earth at night or something. I wouldn't be surprised if it actually liked like that in their time. Either that or MMX Forever's theory of it symbolizing connectivity.

I wouldn't doubt it since it seems some online games might take their sweet time with that - Dragon Ball Online comes to mind (most Korean pages dealing with the unveiling of Mega Man Online even referrenced it), and another famous japanese franchise (Saint Seiya / "Knights of the Zodiac") has an online game on the works by Sega as far as 2006 now, and in 2006 they did produce a logo for it - the image just didn't let it be seen whether it already had a copyright mark too or not.
I did some checking, most korean sites just report all we know and some with other data like how many units the Mega Man series has sold, etc. This seems heavily focused on the Neowiz side of things, so for those wondering 'why it isn't on Japan' that would be my guess. I also would find it rather weird they'd supply a lot of news sites with artwork for something that wouldn't be reflected in the game whatsoever, though that's just me. One of the articles in the sites talked about how that could possibly be something scheduled for Megaman's 25th in 2012.
For what it is worth, a slightly bigger image of the teaser poster - most I've seen around are 580×838 pixels, this one is 750×1084. Makes a very nice wallpaper, though it's cut on the sides. But a good one no less.
I'll be watching to see what comes out of this one.

Edit: Just looked up some more things. From what little extra information I could gather (I can't read Korean. T.T), Pmang is probably used for online gaming with multiplayer capabilities. Maybe it's likely this new development will indeed be an X-series MMO? I dunno. I only hope for the best. =)
Edit 2: I also assume this means that if they do indeed make an MMO game, and it goes through an open beta like Dragon Ball Online, most of us will be unable to play it without a Korean citizenship or a friend who would lend his/her KSSN
Edit 3 (Startin' to stack these edits): Looking over Capcom's shareholder report thingy, I'm now like... 75% confident that Mega Man Online will be an X-series MMO. 'Course, I suppose with Capcom you never know. Mega Man Online will be developed with help from Neowiz... Neowiz's Pmang logo is in a new X image. Hmm...

1. Least likely, that the MMX MMO would move along the story of the X games and rewrite them the way MHX did. I really don't see it happening, and I really don't know why I'm suggesting it, but it crossed my mind. The only reason I see them doing this, is because if they can't pump out more MHX games (due to the bad sales?) then an MMO would be able to accomplish the same thing, and probably generate more income than selling separate MHX games. Again, don't see it happening, just throwin' it out there.
2. Somewhat likely, but not really. An Elf-Wars type deal. Since MMORPGs tend to 'evolve' over time, an Elf Wars game of an MMO variety could just keep going and going, adding in more material. Most MMOs don't end (At least, I can't think of any) and doing such would let Capcom keep at least a portion of the Elf-Wars ''open'', in case they wanted to do something with it later.
3. Likely, in my opinion. What Mac said, the Maverick Wars era.
4. Probably pretty likely. Capcom will throw something new together and just release it.
Honestly, I don't know what to think though. That's my two metals.
Edit: Option 1 is definitely out. As far as I know, all MMOs hosted on Pmang are free to play, as in no monthly charges. This scares me quite a bit. Everything will go downhill if ''Mega Man Online'' is free-to-play. Then again, Pmang makes all their money off Cash Shops, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Still, If it's going to be an MMO I'd rather they charge a monthly fee. Paying it sucks, but it's incentive for a company to keep making new stuff and make it work. At least, more incentive than a cash shop.

Before there was the confirmation of the nature of the game some korean sites alluded that the game could be like this one, it seems they were right on the money.
And on the uppermost right corner of the artworks, that's more than likely the korean logo for "Mega Man Online", small as it may be.

EDIT: Also note that Axl is no where to be seen. Perhaps pre X7? Lastly, I think this is what Kenji meant when he said that X9 would not be the next X game.

On a side note, something tells me that even though it's not X9, I think this is Inafune-san's way of shutting us up who longs for a sequel...Finally does anyone notice that X and Zero's face looks a little....well too cute? Just wanna point that out I mean the art overall looks badass but the face well, what do you guys think?
