Due to the 3DS failing to meet sales expectations, Nintendo will be cutting the price down from $250 to $170 on August 12th. Similar cuts will also take place in other regions such as Japan and Europe. If you don't have a 3DS already, you might want to take advantage of this. My only real incentive to purchase a 3DS was recently shattered, but for that price, I'll probably be picking up one myself just in case things turn around for us in the near future. Besides, Nintendo always has some great games to play x)

It's a longshot, but hopefully boosting sales of the handheld will help persuade a certain publisher to reconsider their recent actions. I'll be ready, just in case!

That's a bummer for me cause I already bought one and I enjoy it. Especially now that I can watch Netflix on it. Although I can certainly understand people not wanting to shell out $250 for a handheld. Personally, I think with everything you can do with a 3DS it's worth the $250 if your willing to shell out that much. The AR games are especially nice to play. I look forward to more games utilizing AR functionality. Also taking 3D pictures and watching 3D previews of movies is nice. The bottom line is if you travel frequently the 3DS is worth your buck.

Tell me about it.. My PS3 recently died after 5 years of dedication. Just to replace that alone is the same price of a 3DS.

When I see that topic, I was like meh. Because I don't feel to buy 3DS because of what "happen". But I hope it is good chance to get that if capcom starting get back to work on Legend 3!

I know how you feel. I admit, my enthusiasm is pretty dampened by that whole incident, but I'm hoping the increased 3DS sales will help persuade Capcom to get their heads out of their asses and release something other than Street Fighter. Without MML3, my only real reason for getting a 3DS was down the drain, but at least if the project is picked up again, I'll have a 3DS already x)

How about, stay away from the 3DS and relaunch the project on PS3 and 360? There's no need for this game to be a 3DS exclusive. I know this isn't the Legends 3 topic but it irks me that people have accepted the fact that Legends 3 will be on the 3DS and 3DS only. (Thats IF it gets relaunched either)

That would work fine with me, considering I don't even play handhelds, but sometimes you just have to work with the hand that you're dealt. I would love if they brought MML3 to consoles like PS3 instead, but if they don't, there's not much anyone can do about it. At this point, I'll just be happy if it gets released at all.

Does any one know which games they will be giving away for free particularly the GBA titles, if you buy a 3DS before August 12? I'm trying to convince my girlfriend to buy one before then and she wants to know what games will be free if she buys one before August 12. I only know of Super Mario Advance 4.

Inevitably I'm getting one.

The only things making me hesitant are
-likelihood of 3DS "Lite"
-wanting for other colors

It's problematic trying to keep both of them in mind though, because Nintendo's not likely to be thinking about a 3DS Lite if they're still so worried about the success of the 3DS, and the same idea likely applies to willingness to produce it in other colors (or one could argue the converse, I suppose.) Also, if I remember correctly the Wii was shown in more preview colors than what came to exist, such as a light green one. Even though a purple and an orange 3DS have been shown they might not see the light of day for consumers, though it is good that the Flare Red 3DS is at least in Japan.

A lot of 3DS bashing on here, all for a game in the third worst Mega Man franchise.The only reason Legends 3 getting canned upset me was because of the implications for Mega Man at large, I don't give a rats ass about Legends as honestly, the first 2 games sucked. I mean, I would have bought it to support Mega Man, but I am pretty sure it had no chance of ever being in my top 10 Mega Man games let alone top 10 anything......cause it's Legends.

Anyway, now that I have got that out of my system, definetly glad I picked the 3DS up before the price drop. Yoshi's Island and Metroid Fusion for free? I'll take that any day of the week.

Not to mention you have Star Fox 64 in a month (which I am not getting cause I have it on the Wii VC but some of you might want it), Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus cominc before Christmas and Luigi's Mansion 2 next year, why wouldn't you buy it?

Other notable games on the horizon:

Tetris 3DS (October)
Kingdon Hearts 3DS (apparently they are showing more footage at Tokyo Game Show)
Animal Crossing
Paper Mario 3DS

And of course you have to figure there is Pokemon coming sometime down the road.
