Share your opinions, raves, rants, or whatever you want about these characters.
I'll just say this for now.
Massimo is the manliness, Marino is hot, and Cinnamon is cute.

Do you know how many loliconners want at Cinnamon (I should be shot for that)
I wanna see Marino fight Dynamo for god'ssake!
I wanna see Massimo single-handedly take down an entire 8-maverick boss rush!!
...
No, they aren't underappreciated. Just most people can't find Megaman X: Command Mission as a title now-a-days. As its probably just as difficult to find a copy of X7 and X8.
EDIT: and talk about appreciations, poor Spider got

Jet Guillotine was awesome. However, I wonder who actually got to use it considering that the one who drops the item runs away a lot.
Now that you mentioned the Flame Mammoth look-alike, I made a fitting end for Silver Horn.

I wish for that too, but we'll have to live with 5 bosses (6 if one counts Depth Dragoon). As far as single-handedly for Massimo goes, I don't know if Massimo has the abilities, but this will have to do for now:

As far as Massimo goes in Chapter 3, you're correct on the fact that he isn't that strong during this time. However, I eventually did take the precaution of doing the following for Massimo before having him fight Silver Horn. Anyone can use this for future reference when they decide to start a new playthrough and progress in chapter 3. This may take several tries, so be sure to save before starting this.
1. Level Massimo up to level 10 or higher (I think about 11 or 12 would be safe too)
2. Equip the Power Charge subweapon on Massimo
3. Leave Tianna Camp using the save device
4. Sending him and the other hunters to the Lagrano Ruins using the Teleportation system in the Shopping Arcade
5. Have the hunters find a fight with a bat enemy (or another weak enemy you encounter)
6. Wait until Massimo's WE fully goes up (defending works well here)
7. Activate Massimo's Glint Armor hyper mode
8. Use a Power Charge with Massimo. It should say "Charge X1" and cancel the rest of the turn (don't attack during this turn)
9. When Massimo's next turn comes, use a power charge and it should say "Charge MAX". In this turn, use his action trigger
10. During the action trigger, fill both bars and hope that you dish 3,000 or more damage when you destroy the weak enemy
11. When you win the battle, you will level up Massimo's action trigger to include a new button that gives a chance of making the Action Trigger a critical hit. This new ability makes a huge difference in Massimo's favor.
As an alternative, you can use the "Boost Power" item on Massimo if you stole one from an enemy or destroyed an opponent who dropped it so you won't have to use the Glint Armor hyper mode. Don't not use Boost Power (or any of the boost items) on ANYONE in hyper mode because it will miss them. Don't use Boost Items on any character you plan to activate the hyper mode with either because if you use a boost item and then you activate the hyper mode, the boosts the character gained before activating hyper mode are negated and will get the boosts associated with the hyper mode instead.
When you level up Massimo's action trigger as stated above, it allows Massimo to destroy Silver Horn with quite a bit of damage as shown in the video below (I overdid it a little with Massimo's Action Trigger as I wanted to end the battle with a final strike. Luckily I did win against Silver Horn using Massimo-led final strike later on as shown in my previous post.) Don't forget to equip Massimo with a Water Guard or two for defense.
And I agree that Marino and Cinnamon FTW. If you master Marino's action trigger, you might turn the tide in your favor. If you equip and use Cinnamon properly, you can change her from a typical pretty girl robot to an absolute beast.

Massimo: He had his uses, but I didn't really use him much past Chapter 6. I really liked his character, however, and I wish he could have appeared in X8.
Cinnamon: Pure epic. I gave her the Kitty Gloves and some defense Force Metal, and she kicked all kinds of behind! The only thing I disliked about her was that her voice was too whiny.

X8 takes place way before Command Mission. Massimo is a Giga City legend/hero. And Giga city was not created until the Force Metal meteor landed on earth.

Massimo: I honestly don't use this guy as much as I should. Massimo's quite good, but I just don't ''get'' slow and powerful characters. I'm not good with them in any sort of RPG, don't know how to build them, don't really care... so Massimo took a back-seat for quite a while. His Counterattack capabilities are neat, and his AT can do some dang good damage when completed. I like him, but again, he's just not my type. :P
Marino: Marino is my damage dealer. And thief of course. I think I gave her all the build hypers I had acquired at the time. Marino's Hyper Mode gives her that beastly speed upgrade, so even if she doesn't really deal as much damage as others initially, she'll get a buttload of rounds in which she can attack, heal the party, set up buffs, all (usually) without any retaliation from the enemy until her Hyper Mode runs out. That's just useful. I did try spending a lot of time farming for Build items to buff her attack and speed.
Cinnamon: Cinnamon is my favorite character to use in Command Mission. She's got a built-in heal, natural resistance to all elements, high Erosion resistance, four Force Metal slots, and her ''ultimate'' weapon rocks. In my main file I buffed her with all the Build items (except Hypers) I could get, and she's just a beast. No party can go wrong with Cinnamon. Gave mine one of those sub-weapons that generates both a C and S shield, or was that a Force Metal? Either way, with that and her elemental resistances, it took a lot to kill her. A buffed up Cinnamon makes any playthrough a breeze.

I agree about Marino, especially when she has Cutting Edge equipped.
Do you have a Wii BTW? I used the Wii to play my Gamecube games, with Command Mission being one of them.

For Marino, here are my suggestions:
Chapter 4: Use her normally like you would any other. Try practicing her "I'll Take That" action trigger here by matching up all 3 treasure chests. This AT is useful against the Pararoid in which you can steal an Eagle Eye, destroy the Pararoid without having to miss it often, and save a Mega (Element) for future use. If you decide to use her against the boss, equip Hawkeye on her and use her Hyper Mode wisely.
Chapter 5-7: Use Beam Chakram with Power Charge and Hawkeye. The Power Charge will give her attacks more strength and the Hawkeye will prevent her from missing her attacks. Of course she should have some defensive force metals equipped. You could also equip here with a "Generator" sub weapon if you feel that she needs more WE. The "Mettaurcure" enemy drops a "Generator" sub weapon if you need one.
Chapter 8 and on: I recommend Beam Chakram S or a weapon that you are used to the most. Any equipment that you find useful will be up to you. At level 30 and on, try to master her "Mirage Dive" action trigger by matching all three Marino symbols together for a strong attack that hits all enemys. It is best to practice her ultimate action trigger attack at the Gimialla Mine area that requires the Gimialla Key. When you get to that area and encounter enemies, you should practice the "Mirage Dive" attempts against the Silver and Gold Mettaurs. If you master the move, you can gain all of the gold from destroying these Mettaurs without gold deductions from victory. You might also get the timing down of the reel at various speeds while you're at it.
For Massimo during chapter 7 and on, equip him with the Interceptor with the Generator and Power Charge subweapons. He will be more useful with the weapons when you have the "Criticals" and "Multistage" parts of the Action Trigger. From there, hit the enemies as usual and use the Action Trigger if you feel the need to damage the enemy as soon as possible. Equipping him with proper force metals is key too of course.

Actually, there are three characters who have 4 force metal slots. The three characters are X, Axl, and Spider. However, Axl and Spider have low force metal erosion resistance compared to X, Massimo, and Cinnamon.
Now that I think about it, you do have a valid point of only 2 characters having 4 force metal slots as the game progresses.
And put it this way, if Cinnamon and Massimo had one more force metal slot and everything else stayed the same, they would probably be broken characters, although they still would not be as broken as Marino in Quicksilver.

Massimo's also pretty good if you train him.. but he ranks lowest in terms of usefulness of characters in Command Mission for me. Good at dealing damage, but I see Zero being better, and that's pretty much all he does. I wouldn't personally label him as useless though.. he's decent when you get him some levels.
Personally, Axl is currently my least-used character. Really, he only has three really good AT transformations in Wild Jango, Rafflesian, and Ninetails (IMO). I only use him for Stealth-Mode Baiting.

It seems like I might have to go in defensive mode for Marino here.
Well, according to most of my Command Mission videos in my YouTube channel, I seem to be doing a fine job of destroying enemies using Marino as part of my main team. My main team usually composes of X, Marino, and a random third person (usually Zero, Cinnamon, or Massimo.)

I agree with Massimo being the least effective character overall because his speed is not really up to par, As a result of the low speed, it lowers the possibilities of him playing the helper role often. Then again, I put the support task mostly with X, Marino, or Cinnamon. However, I use him often enough to destroy enemies with ease with his offensive capabilities. In fact, I use Massimo's offensive abilities against Ninetails more than I use Zero's attacks, although not as much as I abuse using Marino with certain equipment against Ninetails.
I also have Axl as my least used character in Command Mission and also for the reasons of Stealth baiting. His playstyle and character is only fair at best in Command Mission. However, all of his AT transformations are effective except Mad Nautilus. The Mad Nautilus transformation would have been great if Axl was allowed to use Mad Ecstasy in the Action Trigger to deal damage at enemies randomly.
