Case 1: Alia - Aside from the fact that many (including myself) knows that she is a beautiful female robot, Alia is a genius in the battlefield. She knows several functions of some reploids when she explians the background of some Mavericks. Alia also replicated one of X's armors and repaired another armor for X. She has some feelings and deep connections to X that the games somewhat hint on. Alia has knowledge on battling. So with all of this, she is definitely capable of doing what I made her do in the following video as a buster-wielding Maverick Hunter similar to X:
Case 2: Marino - She is also a hot beauty a guy like me can appreciate. Her ninja background also helps her contribute to the Maverick Hunters in Command Mission. Despite her occupation as a theif, she is honorable and has not betrayed X or his friends at any time after she joined the Maverick Hunters. Finally, what I like most is her gameplay. Although she is not the strongest or most effective overall, her looks and abilities can kill most Mavericks when used properly such as how I did in the next couple of videos, as Marino's gameplay fits my play style in Command Mission (viewers, pick your ninja poison for getting Absolute Zero or Ultimate Armor by choosing either video as they are similar):
Let's just say that what I showed is that in the video gaming world of Mega Man X AKA the gaming realm of limitless potential, looking down on advanced female robots will probably get one nowhere. The Mavericks destroyed in the above videos learned the very hard way. XD
For those interested, I also have a video of Layer and Pallette doing similar things Alia did above in my YouTube Channel if you want to check them out. And I have something special planned with Cinnamon later on.
In conclusion, that's the gist of what I wanted to say about females in the Mega Man games, although I somewhat overdid it with the examples.

I agree totally. It's interesting because it seems Inti has a more vested interest in Mega Man than Capcom. Irony much?

Interesting, i did not know that.
Even so, Inti Creates does seem to have a flair for storytelling.
Also, has anyone thought of the possibility of having a game with a customizable Hunter as the protagonist, who can be male/female and whatever you want?
I'm surprised they didn't take this route with Rockman Online.

The problem with that is that Megaman X and Zero would need to take backseats in their own story to a created character that just popped out of nowhere. In RockMan Online, it would be acceptable, Since it's the beginning of a new story, but in any other part of the series, it'd been seen as flat out Mary Sue-ing.
EDIT: Unless of course, you were being mentored by the hunters, and you did nothing really major, like kill Sigma.

Yeah that could work.
You could even die at the end so you wouldn't have to show up in later games (although maybe that'd be overkill).

That's blatant Mary Sue-ing. Just make them not show up, there are millions of hunters, only some people care about a C rank that gets transferred or in some cases killed.
The idea of characters you create is trying to give people a chance to let their imagination run wild and make a really unique character. But everyone just self inserts themselves, except prettier, stronger, and cooler. Most games like GodEater gives you a silent protagonist, and you can make them stronger through hard work, but in GodEater's case, your character still is set to a slight default personality, they have weaknesses, and actually CARE about the other characters, no matter what choices you choose.

Yes, Inti Creates does seem to create some interesting female characters.
That said, do any of you trust parent company Capcom to make these kinds of characters, or just Inti Creates?

What about MegaMan X8, for example? Or MegaMan X: Command Mission?
Those were made by normal Capcom.
Also, if X9 were to be in 3D, then Inti Creates probably wouldn't make it....

Considering their Mega Man related actions (or lack thereof) as of late, I have little to no faith in Capcom in making in depth female characters. Ever since Mr. Inafune left you can see a considerable change in the attention Mega Man gets as a whole.

But in a what-if situation, if Inti-Creates somehow owns the Mega Man franchise, what will happen to the Legends series?
And if I derailed the thread too much again, I'll give more examples of females doing something productive.

X8 is not exactly the best example. everything aside from story and gameplay was pretty messed up.
bland and uninteresting level design (except for a few stages)
no stage replay value since everything is obtainable in the shop
badly hidden rare metals and capsules
the redesigns
i could go on, but that would derail the thread.

5: Girl exists solely to provide fanservice for male (and some female) gamers. (Sam's girlfriends in the Transformers films fall into this category)

Your example fails on account of the fact that everything about the Transformers films is shit anyway. That's like pointing at a giant turd and saying "See that piece there? That's shit."

Although now that I think of it, Kim Bauer as of season two and onward on 24 counts. (season 1 doesn't count because she served a purpose in the main plot)
Besides, who says my example fails? If I were to point at a specific piece of a giant turd, then say that piece was crap, would my statement be any less true? Seriously, there are several things I can point out about ROTF alone to make a point about how not to make a movie. But the examples only work when I point out specific pieces. If I were to say: "You see ROTF? Don't make movies like that." That example would fail because the person I'm talking to might adopt the "Hitler ate sugar" fallacy and say that everything the movie did was terrible.
"Using CGI? Terrible. Using live action people? Terrible. A battle between good versus evil? Better off without it."
You see what I'm saying?
