No. I really dont think so. All i can think of is a Zero like Scenario where he is used to create something or to cause something, much like Zero was used to create the Nightmare, or a "nice job breaking it hero" moment, where he inadvertently causes something bad to happen.

"Grow a pair?" He had to take on and figth all of his former colleague and friends, as well as fight his Mentor and see him die. Not to mention confronting the one responsible for orchestrating that disaster. Then he had to fight off the army of Reploids who posess the finalized version of his own ability, and who claim they can "go maverick at will". They are- much like Omega is Zero's nightmare, they are the representation of what can ad DID go wrong with an ability like his.

not to mention he is the one who has to screw X's head back on when Lumine's words faze him, shooting a "Shut up" shot at Lumine.

Well lets think about it. Axl has already been wiped out in X8. It's too late to not have anything serious happen to him. I doubt that scene will have nothing to do with the next story. Some people may think that it will be senseless to have something tragic happen to him but to be fine in Command Mission, but I think it needs to happen. The event has already happened. Also, Command Mission takes place 100 years later. Who knows how things will turn out. If nothing is explained with him, then that scene in X8 will be pointless. That can't happen.

Because the Awakened Zero scenario was TOTALLY relevant to X6's story and beyond.

The ONLY way an "evil Axl" or whatever deal can happen, si as an alternate "bad end" scenario like Awakened Zero.

Also, it does not have to be anything BAD that happens to him either. He could be a part of something, but not in a bad way. Much like Zero's DNA was used to make the Nightmare, Axl could be used in a similar way towards something else.

However, I have always harbored the hypothesis that whatever Lumine did to Axl, COULD possibly be connected to his mysteriously evolved Copy ability in Command mission, where he previously could only copy Reploids his size, we see him copying freaking Mad Nautilus.

he was merely knocked unconscious. Remember Sigma's punch to Zero's head when they first fought? that knocked Zero out as well, and he was fine after he was repaired.

Axl definitely wasn't wiped out Bleduc, but I see you're point that the shard scene should have something to do with X9.

Again, as Bolt has already stated, the shard scene doesn't necessarily have to make him an evil controlled maverick, or what-have-you. And now that you mention it, I really do feel that Lumine's attack has something to do with Axl's enhanced ability.

It's just my idea, but I have a feeling that that shard thing was some sort of desperate last resort attack for Lumine to preserve himself in another host. I don't think he'll take over Axl though, nor do I think Axl will be destroyed... Almost kind of like in Dragon Ball GT (God I can't believe I'm referencing this), where Bebe used different hosts to gain his strength before leaving bodies and becoming a force all to his own.

I definitely think that whatever that is in the shard is another form of Lumine that will try and return. That's all... This is not to mention that we're almost completely off-topic as my original question was "Should Axl get his own series?", not "What will happen to Axl in X9?". I'm sure there's enough threads like that in the X9 forum...

Yeah, we are getting off topic. Sorry about that. Just one last thing. When I said that Axl was wiped out, I didn't mean that he died. I just meant he was knocked out. And I do have another thought, but I can save it for another topic.

Anyway, getting back on THIS topic, I'm for Axl getting his own series.

There is no reason for Axl NOT to get his own series, IMO! I myself have been curious about his past with Red and the vigilante group Red Alert.

Even if it can't be a series, but at least a single GAME, where we see Axl training, doing rookie missions, and then perhaps graduate to accompanying his Commander/Mentor Red in more serious missions, that would be sweet! Remember in the beginning of MMX7 when Axl does go along with Red on a mission? By then, Red already has his trust put into his underling, who was once tossed out as a supposedly defective prototype, but now has the skills necessary to retire Mavericks by Red's standards. The game would take place from the moment Axl was found, to the time he decides to leave Red Alert when things get bad (where MMX7 picks things up from there).

And the game(s) would be called "Rockman Axl: Red Alert" or "Rockman Axl: Vigilante Assignment." Okay, maaaaybe I over-thought this, maybe not, but I would just really LOVE for an Axl game to be added to the library of MMX series games from Capcom... a library that needs to grow. I would buy it, I would play it, and I would play it again. More people do like him than is believed.

I said it before, and I will say it again.

I hope Axl is revealed to be the last great creation of Dr. Cossack. Think about it,...then all three of the great scientists would be involved with the X series. Light created X, Wily created Zero, and Cossack created Axl. And the only reason Coassack was able to create a more advanced version of a Reploid (one with copy abilities) is because Cossack was younger than Wily and Light, and had more time to work on creating his "masterpiece" (Axl) as Cossack developed technology even further after Wily and Light passed away. Axl could be found in an old labratory, where Dr. Cossack sealed him away.

Some people say Gate could have created Axl, but I somehow doubt that.

The more I see this, the more I think that I'm the only one here who thinks Command Mission is 100% NOT canon. It's still a good game regardless.

As for Cossack, it would be interesting if he did creates Axl at some point of his life, the thing is that, now that it was established that he's a prototype of manufactored-next-gen-reploids, and having Cossack come out of nowhere and say "NO, AXL IS LIKE X, BUT NEXTGEN" it would be weird, and even if the whole next-gen reploid thing was actually HIS idea, mentioning that this late would still be coming out of nowhere.


And if CM somehow becomes canon, then Axl prabably hid himself while he tried to repair himself ( ) and BOOM! Axl is in CM safe and sound

Well... though its already been said thats its impossible for axl to be an irregular/maverick, i think it would be fun to have him in his own game vs the hunters.

Other than that i don't really wanna see another series called megaman axl, since the story revolves mainly around our upgraded blue bomber! I was ok with the zero series, but axl has only been in the series for 2 games! Zero's been in it since x1, and debate-ably before, he kind of deserves his own. Give it a few more more games then maybe, at least that's how i feel

As cool as it would be to have Dr. Cossack be the original creator of Axl, unfortunately it doesn't make sense to have him come out so late in the series... It's a trifecta I'd totally be down with, but it seems his origins will always remain a mystery to us.

I wish that fan game by AdventAxl had been created. It seemed to have a lot of promise. 'Cause Capcom's definitely not making any more MMX games. Although, the chances of a new MMX fighting themed game sound very high now that they're doing this new combination thing w/ Namco & Bandai. Depending on how well it does, we may just get to see our dual-pistol wielding friend again after all. Just not in his own series.

I don't see why not. I wouldn't mind if there was more to Axl's story, and possibly the general information on the new generation reploids as well. As far as I remember, there were a few plot holes for basically everyone besides X (if not counting the transition from the classic series to the X series).

Yes, Doctor. Cossack could have developed the first prototype copy chip, and implanted it into Axl. I'm not sure what I think about this. You make a decent point getting into the history of X and Zero, plus the fact that Axl is a prototype new gen, but I'm interested to hear something. Out of all people, why do you say Cossack?
