So, after all that, the only thing I could think of, was: "Scott Pilgrim sounds kinda lame..."
Then I get the Comics (thanks to TwilightSword) and my opinion changes. Really fucking fast.
Then I get the game. It is awesome and a fun as hell beat 'em up. (For it to be perfect... Online play and a bigger world would be needed.)
But the Movie... I haven't seen, I heard it's faithful to the comics, and unfaithful at the same time. Now thanks to TS, I'm hooked on the series.
Now what about the rest of Mega Man X9.com?

Well you brought up the game and movie*cough* mmkay.
After you've posted the thread earlier today, I checked out the comics. A tad bit less attention-capturing than the movie, but it's really good. Dunno if I'll ever check out the game though.

To be honest, I thought I was the only one that made that connection. To me the move kinda gave me a "NMH kiddie style" vibe to it. At least, kiddie-style compared to NMH itself....

Anyway, yea, I beleive that the comics were hilarious. I've seen the short cartoon clip, read some of the manga/comic, saw the movie, and beat the crap out of the game. So I'd have to say, the movie did pretty good justice to the series, even though it wasn't 100% like the comic. But that's good right? You wouldn't wanna see the same stuff you've already seen, would you? At least it wasn't a Dragonball Evolution failure.

I'll catch the movie on Netflix and since everyone is going hog-wild over it, I'll use it to guage whether or not I want to read the comics. >_>

I honestly have not heard this vocal group you speak of. Most of the people I hear talking about it pretty much say what I just said, and are disappointed that people who actually did want to see the movie didn't bother to support it.
It is a really good movie, though. I saw it twice, and had more fun both times than I did at the Expendables or Inception. (Though both of those are excellent as well.)

I know how it feels when it seems like everyone's repeating the same stupid complaints over and over again. I mean, I'm a Sonic fan. I have an Olympic medal in dealing with stupid complaints...

I hate him with a passion, he's horribly typecast. Superbad, Year One, etc. Always some lame little nerd who wants to get laid and under certain circumstances, is.
That entire portion of plot offends me. Its like no movie can be successful unless it involves someone getting laid unless its a kid movie. I'm unsure whether I should attempt to get my IASS stuff into Hollywood, as they'd corrupt it and end up shoving something like that in there and it'd totally destroy a good portion of the main character (Why I'm a Gary-stu).
Saber and Pistol? Ultimate power.
You and your friends? The greatest Gary-stu/Mary-sues of them all.
X-Teen: One young man's lame attempt to unite all of science fiction.

I've heard two equally vocal schools of thought on Scott Pilgrim, though. Some people think he's playing the exact same role again, and some people think he's finally breaking the typecast. Being completely unfamiliar with any of his other work, I can't tell you which is true.
Relating to the need for someone to "get laid", however... (very minor movie spoiler ahead)...
