We all know that, in megaman legends 1 (Megaman 64, as some of you may know it), there's a soda can laying on the floor of the mall, and if you kick it into one of the bakeries, you get 1000 Zenny. You can repeat this as many times as you want, which makes it rather easy to get a large amount of upgrades early on in the game, that is, if you have the patience to grind it.

My question is this, where does the money come from? What is it about kicking the can into the bakery that gives Megaman 1000 Zenny?

I don't understand the practicality of it, somebody help me!

What -I- don't get is why doing it more than once in a while turns Megaman's armor black. You'd think picking up litter more often would be encouraged.

The money comes from either a deity that blesses Volnutt with bounties of Zenny from the sky or thin air, OR, it is the city or island officials or city hall or something that grant him with an appreciation fund. Cleaning up the fair world free of all loose cans!

I never turned black from can-kicking. Soda machine-kicking, on the other hand? Yes. However, if we go by Mac's idea, then it is clearly a vile trash deity of sorts. Its skin made of tin cans, and its eyes of discarded lightbulbs, with a maw full of empty, unrecycled batteries. And with every can kicked to it, an offering of tin and metal is made to this dark entity, fueling its power and granting Rock its fell energies and the gift of money that he might better equip himself and venture forth as the vanguard of his second coming. And once enough tin cans have been gathered, it shall rise anew, its seventeen mouths opening all across its body in order to sing the song that ends this world.
