Keep in mind that Zero is his baby, and was the original design for Megaman X before Capcom intervened and said that it was too different. Also keep in mind that Inafune wanted to end the X series at X5 to make the Zero series. I just find it funny how people are just now noticing that Zero's more popular than X, when IMO it's been blatantly obvious since X4. While we still don't know exactly why Megaman was left out, it being an anti-Inafune move is out of the question.

Hmmm, the part about Inafune's original design is true... if that is the case then why are we worried about a sequel then? Let's just say that the X character himself is nothing but a useless cause now. The point of Zero being popular was already established. X... owes his existence to company executives meddling. So much for people wanting X9. What a joke. Just another good character (and probably series) wasted then huh? Don't get the wrong idea... I enjoy Zero as a character too, but I still want to consider X is still a valuable character to me, in spite of Inafune or the popularity.

As for STxT, the game does look promising, in spite of Capcom's foolishness. There isn't really anything for me to say really. The character selection is pretty kick - ass (with a few exceptions). I also did want to see Street Fighter and Tekken character brawling out once upon a time...

I believe I read somewhere that Niitsuma thought that Zero was a better choice in Mega Man's place because he felt Zero had more variation...even though Mega Man was in MvC2. But I'm probably wrong.

And I mean that in the most sexually painful way possible.

I don't see why people are raging at BBA Megaman, like he said before it was a wrong time for a joke, it's like saying a dead baby joke at a funeral :sigmahuh:

Anyway off the subject a character I REALLY want to see from Tekken is Dragonuv, and from Street Fighter R.Mika hoping for them :sigmasmile:

If their not in the game, I'll settle with my team as Cody and Lili.

Really dude... I'm the only one who gives praise to all ur X4 runthroughs, and that's how you talk to me??

I'm not some noob who just now gets it! "Oh God! Zero's more popular than X!! What's gonna happen to the franchise??" ::rolls eyes::

The bigger point about whether it was an Anti-Inafune move or not is complete speculation on my part. I don't know, and I'm not gonna pretend to know. Like I said earlier. I really didn't care whether X was in the game or not. And I do agree with Jason that Zero is the better choice, because his moveset from all the games really left it open for him to have more of a variety in a fighting engine. I always thought about that, during the "X should be DLC!!!" rage. I thought, "How would it really translate? And how would it be any different than Classic Megaman?" If anything, I was surprised that Megaman wasn't a hidden character or DLC considering he was in the first two...

But again, it doesn't matter.

That's not even the current topic at hand. In STxT, BBAM Man is in and it looks like he has the same moveset as Classic MM more-less. And ya know what? Even though he looks like an idiot... I'm happy!
He'll be very fun to play with once I figure out his combos and styles and once I get over his stupid animation. Not to mention that voice... :fpmet:

As far as the other hidden characters are concerned, Cole looks like he's gonna be amazing. Infamous kicks ass. I'll look forward to using him against anyone in the Street Fighter/Tekken roster. And I still couldn't give two shits about PacMan. :awesome:

On topic, if anyone did buy this game... what characters do you guys intend on using? What really attracts the fighting community might be the character selection (with some obvious exceptions). If anything, Hwoarang, Sagat, Ibuki, Kazuya, Jin, Ogre, Bison, Heihachi, Julia, Cammy, Chun Li, Raven, King, Yoshimitsu, Lili, Xiaoyu, Marduk, Bob, Rolento, and Yoshimitsu all pique my interest...
It would seem as if this is going to be a great fighting game. The lack of any real comeback mechanics helps too. Pandora may count as one but there are far too many risks to take when using it! Unlike SFIV, I do not think you are rewarded for getting you ass handed to you but I could be wrong...
I'm alittle bit torn on the gems system though. I don't know what to think about it. What does everybody else think about the gems system??

Yeah, Niitsuma did say that, and he had a point. Ever since X4 I always felt that Zero would transition really well into a fighting game, and that transition would be a lot smoother than it is for someone like say...X. Yes it's true that Classic Megaman was implemented in MvC1/2, but let's be honest, they didn't exactly do the best job converting him into fighting game material. While he was a fully functional character, the weapon switching mechanic was terribad. Having to call Eddie, wait for the weapon to pop out, and then physically pick it up is one of the most impractical things you can do to a a character. Phoenix Wright has an easier time collecting evidence that Classic Megaman did switching weapons. It's a miracle that he was still a solid mid-tier character. Capcom didn't really get that mechanic down pat until Volnutt made his appearance in TvC.

Anywho, as far the game itself goes, it looks good for the most part. The only characters really wanted in were Ken, Steve Fox, and Kuma, and I got all those wishes fulfilled. The Gem system does bother me, though. When a major game mechanic becomes both tedious to unlock and time-consuming to equip, it becomes a problem. To add on to that, certain gems are DLC exclusive, which encourages a 'pay-to-play' mentality. From my understanding, they've already been banned at tournaments, and I can't say I blame them.

The thing is.. the argument that X wouldn't fit into a fighting game is bogus, seeing as Card Sagas Wars disproved that so hard I'm surprised Niitsuma's not sitting in a corner crying that he didn't think of it first:

It is. Which really just proves once more that a small group of two or three people working for free, out of the sheer passion for the craft and characters alone, still do a better job than today's developers despite them having multi-million budgets and entire development teams.

As for him getting his ass handed to him in round one.. It's KOS-MOS. That fight is literally 'infinite potential vs infinite potential'.

I'm liking this roster more and more. While I already have the characters I want in the game, there's a few of them I'd be happy to mess around with on the side, and Jin and Ogre fall into that category. Really just the thought of playing with Tekken characters in a SF-styled game is enough to keep me interested. Plus, content-wise, this game beats the pants off of UMvC3.
