Sigrun Municipality

[Sigrun - A megacity built by the world's wealthiest business giants, for the world's wealthiest business giants. Created to be a hub of the GBC, the Global Business Coalition, and built on Federation territory as their laws fit their needs. The city is shaped in a perfect circle, and the streets were aligned to the north, south, east, and west perfectly. The buildings were painted with a bright white and ocean blue, giving the city a clean, gleaming look, and easy on the eyes. The city has a port as well, as it stands right next to a great river leading to the sea.
The very middle of the city was the plaza, with a replica of the city's advanced fusion reactor along with statues of valkyries around it. The city's main landmark, was the GBC headquarters on the north end of the city. It was a large glass dome that can be seen from a far, even if the person is still miles away from Sigrun. Statues of valkyries stood at the side of the city's main road, Valhalla Road, leading to the GBC dome. The city is governed by the businessmen who built it, acting like a city council.
Police are patrolling every corner, and every street to ensure security. Flows of traffic are smooth and orderly. This is caused by the city's strict, conservative laws. The citizens living in this city pay a hefty tax fee with everything, in exchange for a comfortable, secured life. As shining and orderly this city might seem at first glance, the municipality hides a dark side. Since most of the businessmen in the city are part of the criminal underground of the world's most notorious organized crime groups and gangs.]
[Jormungand River]
Scion's higher ups gathered around the city's large port, watching the arrival of a large luxury cruise ship, rented by the company for their planned weapons expo. Reporters and journalists gathered to see this wonderful creation of art and engineering. Mr. Park was giving a speech while his secretary stood behind him. The secretary felt his phone vibrate in his coat pocket. Naturally, he checked to see who left the message all while being subtle. The secretary's eyes widened a bit upon seeing the sender of the text message. Knowing it was urgent, he humbly excused himself to the person on his left.
Going backstage, the secretary kept walking like he knows where he has to go. Waving and saying hello to the people he meets along his walk, he was hiding something behind his smiling and kind expression. Walking in between warehouses, the secretary reached a specific warehouse - one with a graffiti of a red smiley face. Entering the dimly lit building, the secretary walked toward a metallic staircase, leading up to a small office. Arriving at the door, he knocked in a rhythmic fashion until a voice replied "Come in"
The secretary opened the door and stood close to it. "What is it you need, sir?"
"I'm just here to deliver a message. For your 'other' boss" said the man hiding in the shadows. "The bosses are having a turf war, but with the cops being everywhere, they want to keep it on the down low. Also, folks from overseas are coming over, and they need to put up a show"
"I see. So what are they planning?" the secretary asked, grabbing a hankerchief from his pants pocket, as he was starting to smell the man's cigarette smoke.
"A tournament. Each of our groups must pick someone to fight for them in a battle royale to the death" the man chuckled. "You can pick any one you want, as long as they can put up a show. Doesn't matter if they're reploid, cyborg, human... They're going to die anyway, and no one would miss them"
"Understood. I will pass the message to my boss and we'll have a fighter in no time" the secretary chuckled.
"Hahaha... Of course you will. I look forward to see your fighter get massacred" the man lets out a deep, choppy laugh.
"Do you believe in hell, sir?" asked the secretary.
The man shrugged and thought of an answer. "Yes"
"Good. Because you shall be watching the fight from there" the secretary pulls a pistol from his coat, firing a full round on the man. "I guess no one will miss you too..." he added with a dry chuckle, fixing his coat and walking out of the office like nothing happened.

(Yes, it is a joke on the Terminator series)
A large building among the other giants, Cyberdyne industries is well renown for it's Cybernetic technologies and prosthetics for humans. It is also known as the Reploid industry's largest developer of replacement parts and upgrades including those for Maverick Hunters and the common Reploid. Cyberdyne's building is marked by the statue of a robotic hand reaching up into the air outside the front of the main building. Inside the building is a large reception area before going into the many labs and offices devoted to business, down in the lower underground levels of the building is where the bulk of the science takes place. And at this moment in time, the bulk of the panic.
"What is the commotion all about?" One scientist said as he came in from up-stairs.
Another scientist poked his head from behind a screen and pointed to a large tank with a human form in it. "We lost track of her A.I Neko, we can't figure out where in the city she is! Or even where her family is!"
"Can we wake her?" Asked a business man who had come in himself.
There was a shake of the head. "No . . . she's too deep in her sleep to wake, from what we can gather her A.I Neko has been knocked out somehow, unless someone repairs it she'll stay like this for a while."
"What if we trace the signal?"
"It'll lead to a dead end, her A.I Neko is off of the normal net, therefore untraceable even by us."
"Well that's a big design flaw if i ever did see one" The business man mumbled.
A scientist let out a hoot like laugh and rolled his eyes. "Tell that to the Privacy act, we all signed the forms and this family paid to be unlisted, they're rich like that."
"We'd better design another A.I Neko then, someone get on that." The business man growled.
People went into a more paced flurry of work as the occupant of the tube slept silently in her bed of water. She seemed to be dreaming but not dreaming, mouth and nose rigged to a breathing mask and a cover over her eyes. On the rest of her head was a hood like device with wires leading outwards. It was almost peaceful to watch her sleep in her comatose state. A plate read a single name on the top of the glass tube.

[Shinra Energy Corporation]
(Is it me? or am i just playing a joke on every corporation i can? ;D )
A large energy conglomeration that works across the world supplying energy with large Fusion reactors. The company itself has a rather large building, with a Fusion generator of it's own in the basement which explains the large circular hole in the center of the building. Also the blueish rising glow at night when most of the city is asleep. While Shinra seems to act independently it is also the largest supplier of funds to Arretium outside of the U.S, supplying Arretium with spare funds. The corporation deals with mafias and gangs, including the Aquilline Mafia. On the upper level in the highest business suite two people were talking.
"Did you hear? The underground tournament is coming back into play again."
There was a snicker from what seemed to be the boss. "Yes i did hear, despite the attack on Abel City, these old men want their precious tournament. Do you have any suggestions on an entry?"
"Well Gadrach did tell us something very interesting, the attack on the Maverick Hunter HQ was started by a Reploid. They call him Stalker." The Secretary said with a curl to his lips.
The boss thought on this for a while. "Stalker eh? . . . hmmmm, find him, i think he'd be a great asset to us if he fought for us."
"And if he loses?"
There was a cackle. "If he is as good as you say . . . then he cannot lose."

Bowing to his Yakuza superiors, Jae cut to the chase. "I recieved a message that another tournament is planned by the head of this city"
"Brilliant. My pockets are drained, I could use the money" said one of the men in the room.
"You sound confident, we don't even know who our fighter would be" replied another man.
"Actually..." a man interjected, sitting on the boss' chair. "We already have chosen our fighter"
"It better be human, I have a distaste for reploids" said a high-ranking woman.
"We all know that, but your hate for reploids don't matter in our selection, woman" replied the first man.
"Bringing up my gender again, are we? Speak again and I will castrate you" the woman replied, starting an argument with the rest.
"Enough" said the man who seems to be the boss. "We have chosen a reploid, whether you like it or not"
"Your reploid better be capable of destroying our enemies" the woman said, sitting back and scoffing at what she just heard.
"Of course. We already tested her fighting skills many times over and she did not disappoint"
"Was this the reploid you found in Monaco, boss?" Jae asked politely.
"Yes. Yes she is..."

Selvie and Isleta's eyes both gazed in wonder at the sight of Sigrun from afar. The two continued on, following a long stretch of road leading to the city's main gate. Fortified with a mighty white wall, with defensive turrets and snipers on high alert. Entering the city, both Selvie and Isleta were awestruck by the even more beautiful sight, that is the inside of the city. The perfect alignment of the buildings, orderly traffic, and the clean and glimerring structures that stood high every direction they set their eyes upon.
"I love this city already! I mean, just look at the tall buildings and, hell everything! I would love to parkour around here sometime" Selvie exclaimed, shifting her head left and right as she enjoyed the view of the megacity.
"I know... But I heard taxes here are twice or even triple than in Abel City" Isleta replied as she continued driving. "I just got reminded of the party! Its going to be here at Sigrun" Isleta added, with a slight shiver.
"Aww come on, its just a gathering of smelly old people, nothing to be frightened about"
"R-Right. So where are we headed exactly?"
"Uhm... its in a condominium just next to Baldur Square. Hang on, let me look up the map for this city" Selvie pushed a few buttons on her phone. "Yeah, I'll tell you the directions to get there. First, take a right"
"Ok" Isleta maneuvered towards the right, driving the chopper in between cars.
As Selvie and Isleta drive to their destination, they passed through the main street - the famous Valhalla Road. Selvie looked on the colossal, metallic statues of valkyries on each side of the road.
"Its the valkyrie statues I heard Luce talk about once" Isleta pointed. "I didn't know they were here at Sigrun"

In one of the tallest skyscrapers of the city, a meeting is currently in session. Disguised as a company meeting, the people in the room were all part of the Chinese Triad, planning their candidate for their long awaited tournament.
"Our spies have reported and confirmed that the Japanese have their fighter" one of the men said.
"The Italians have theirs too, from what I have heard" a second man added.
"How about the Russians? Or the Americans?" a third man asked.
"We haven't heard about their respective choices, but we should focus more on ours" the second man replied to the third's questions.
"That is true. I suggest a fighter from Hong Kong. He is a quick killer, I hire him all the time to take care of some men I dislike." the first man suggested.
"I believe the one from our extensions in Thailand is more than capable" a fourth man retorted.
"Bullshit! The last time when we used a foreign fighter, we lost! Let's take one from our own country!" a fifth man cried out, slamming his hands on the table and stood up from his chair.
"We must consider all our options, not just the ones in China" the first man replied to the fifth.
An argument between the men erupted, flooding the room with curses and yelling, some even pulled out guns and threatened to shoot one another.
The boss was quiet the whole time, but when the chaos started he simply motioned his assistant closer.
"Yes, boss?" asked the assistant.
The boss handed the assistant a card, with the scorpion symbol.
The assistant gulped and asked "Sir, are you sure?"
"Do I look like I'm not?" the boss answered, his growly voice sent a cold chill down the assistant's spine.
"Right away, boss" the assistant walked out of the meeting room as the argument was still ongoing. He hurried out of the room and made sure the door was locked as he leaves. Sounds of gunshots were heard from inside the room as the assistant walked away from the door.

The restaurant was as loud as a nightclub; the indistinct chatter, the sounds of glass, plates and stainless steel clashing together, and the sound of Selvie pigging out what looks like e-steak on spaghetti, made Isleta sigh and rest her head on the table.
“What’s wrong?” Selvie said while having a mouthful of food.
“It’s just… too loud. I’m not used to loud noises in really cramped spaces…” Isleta said weakly.
“What?” Selvie leaned out a lot closer.
Isleta sighed and lightly puts her palm on her face. She then waved “Never mind” to Selvie with her other hand. Selvie merely shrugged and went back to devouring the poor food. “I think you should eat more… feminine” Isleta said to Selvie, a bit louder this time.
“Hmm?” Selvie stopped chewing and looked up on Isleta. “What’s wrong with my eating?”
“Well… The way you eat is kinda disgusting. I think you should eat slower and don’t leave such a big mess all over the place” Isleta lightly scratched her forehead.
“Oh… Ok” Selvie nodded, taking a napkin to wipe off the mess on the table. “So… Like this?” Selvie asked and began eating a hotdog sandwich very slowly and erotically.
Isleta couldn’t help but snicker at the sight. “No, no, no. Not that slow and… weird. Just watch other people eat and emulate that. My God…” Isleta laughed quietly as her fingers massaged her forehead.
“Excuse me, but may I share a table with you ladies?” a man’s voice said to the two. Selvie looked at the unknown man, who asked the question at Isleta. Selvie doesn’t mind having a stranger share the table, but Isleta is not used to having strangers around, so she couldn’t decide. Isleta didn’t seem to have heard the man, so Selvie had to tap her finger on the table to get her attention.
“Wha-What? What is it?” Isleta asked, startled. She then saw Selvie pointing at the man holding a tray. “Huh? Yes?”
“I was asking if I may share the table with you two? If you don’t mind, of course. But all the other seats are taken” the man said again, he was wearing a full formal suit, with a knee-length trench coat, a matching black formal vest, slacks, and dress shoes. His glossy, thin necktie looked neat like his white button-up shirt underneath. He was of above-average height and has medium-length black hair. Clearly the man was of Asian descent.
Eyes wide and cheeks starting to warm up and become red, Isleta stared at the man’s handsome face “Oh, s-sure” Isleta moved to the middle. “I’m sorry about not hearing you the first time… I-I was spacing out”
“Oh, it’s nothing. Thank you, though” he said, as he started eating a bowl of Japanese pan noodles.
Selvie carefully observed Isleta’s expression; she was looking down on the table, and taking split-second glimpses at the man that joined their table. With Isleta’s face all red, and her cheeks at the brink of giggling, Selvie smirked a little.
“So, mister, what’s your name?” Selvie asked in her usual friendly manner.
“Oh, I’m Jae Seo”
“Oooh, Korean. I love taekwondo and kimchi!” Selvie smiled.
“That’s nice”
“Anyway, my name is Selvie Storm, and this is my friend Isleta Garand. Nice to meet ya”
“You too” Jae smiled. “Are you ladies from around here? I don’t think I’ve seen either of you in this restaurant before. I go here everyday, so I usually remember faces of regular customers”
“Oh, no, we’re actually from Abel City” Selvie said. Isleta seems frozen in place.
“Abel City? There were attacks there just recently, were both of you affected in any way?”
“Nnnnno. We live a bit farther from where the attacks happened” Selvie said in a nervous tone, not wanting to brag and steal all the attention from Isleta if she talked about her experiences.
“Oh… Well, we are helping out Abel City as best we could to recover from their losses”
“Oh wow, that’s mighty kind of you… your people… or ‘we’?”
“I meant the company I work at, Scion Engineering”
“What a coincidence” Selvie laughed “My gal Isleta here got accepted to your company just recently. Right, Izze?” Selvie turned the attention to Isleta, prompting her to talk.
Isleta was slightly trembling and nodded yes. As soon as Jae’s attention was at Isleta, Selvie quietly picked up her plates to leave the two alone.
“That’s interesting. Where would you be working?” Jae asked Isleta. As Selvie leaves the table, Jae caught a glimpse of the Blacklight emblem on Selvie’s belt buckle at the corner of his eye, quickly steering his attention to Selvie again. Before Isleta could spout out any words from her mouth, Jae excused himself and walked out the back of the restaurant, passing by Selvie as she was returning to the table with dessert.
“Where is he heading?”
“I-I don’t know… Can we just head home now?” Isleta dejectedly begged.
“Alright…” Selvie sets her dessert on the table, following Isleta to the exit. She quickly turned to wave goodbye to her dessert and mutter “Bye bye, oh delicious flan” she bit let lower lip and went on ahead, leaving the premises of the restaurant and into the parking lot.
[Selvie and Isleta exits]
Alone in the backstreets behind the restaurant, Jae called his mob boss to inform her of a Blacklight reploid in the area. “Boss, I found a reploid with the old Blacklight emblem just now. What do you want me to do?”
“Another Blacklight reploid? This is getting interesting… Knowing their destructive capabilities, we cannot afford the others to have this reploid, lure the reploid into us and we’ll lock it up so no one else could take it”
“Alright. What should I do with the human this reploid was with?”
“A human?”
“Yes, sir. A woman. Quite the looker I might say”
“Ah, well, get her too. She might have some use to us”
“Actually…” Jae smirked. “…I was wondering if I could have her”
“Very well, do whatever you want with this woman, as long as the reploid is in our hands”
“Yes, boss” Jae hung up and walked back inside, only to find the two gone from the restaurant. “Damn it!” he muttered behind his clenched teeth.

The earlier panic had settled down and business as usual carried on, limbs being manufactured and developed along with new tests on equipment being run ushered on. Two certain rooms in particular seemed especially busy. Both of which were running experiments in unison, a room labeled "Experimental Reploid Design" and another room labeled "Remote Reploid Control Unit". Inside a skeletal designed Reploid based on the human anatomy was standing in the center of the room with several wires attached to supply power. At the back of the head jutting out was an antenna receiving information and sending miscellaneous data. Designed to be the test bed of a newer and slimmer generation of reploids, something that researchers also wanted to test was a remote control assembly. Inside a small booth one of the lab assistants sat with a crown like device on his head and dark goggles over his eyes.
The head scientist called out to start the experiment and the room went silent as the assistant sat there and tried to communicate with the machine. After several hours of waiting the machine sprung to life, the head tilting on it's X axis and it's arms raising to look at it's fingers. Many of the researchers cheered the machine on as it moved with life like capability. Now all that was needed was a field test. And the head of Cyberdyne knew exactly how to test their new Reploid. Right in the death tournament that the other businesses have started.

"Leave us" the boss said to his assistant, who complied and left the area as if he was in a hurry.
"You called?" the lady spoke in a smooth sounding voice.
"Yes. We need your help" the boss turned around to look at the lady, known in the underground world as 'Scorpio'. "I'm sure you know of the tournaments that we all have every year, no?"
"You're forgetting who you are speaking to, Chang" Scorpio simply smiled and took a seat in one of the chairs.
"Ah, well... We cannot seem to agree on a fighter for this goddamn game. We cannot lose like last time. I cannot afford to have my pockets drained from a simple fight that only serves to entertain old bastards from all over the world. Tsk... What I'm saying is, you think you can find us a solution for this"
"Depends... How much are we talking about here?"
Chang couldn't help but slightly cringe when Scorpio started talking money. "50 mil"
"50? How about 60 at the very least?"
"55"
"Hmph..." Scorpio scoffed at Chang's desperation and stood up. "Very well" she said followed by a light chuckle.
"Any ideas on who you have in mind?" Chang asked before Scorpio could get to the door.
"'Who' is not exactly the right word to use when refering to it" Scorpio said as she leaves the meeting room, the sound of her high-heels echoed in the high-ceiling of the room.
[OOC: I changed Scorpio from brown-hair to red-hair, just so you all know. I personally think it fits better for her]

[Jormungand River Docks - Warehouse 13]
After their arrival from Canada, Delta Squad was reassigned to stay in Sigrun on guard duty. Much to their frustrations, they stayed for days doing nothing but guarding an entire warehouse by the docks where they hid Nemesis and bound him in powerful ship chains to make sure the beast won't escape. Deltas 2 to 7 were the ones that stayed, while 1 was the only one that went back to report. But it had been a week and there was still no sign of him. But they focused on the job like they were trained to do. When Nemesis arrived at Sigrun, the Chinese Triad boss was there to buy him as a fighter, but there were some "changes" in the price that he wasn't aware of. Scorpio didn't like with the price they "agreed" on, and pushed the price higher without the boss knowing. Frustrated and regretting his deal with the devil, the Triad boss, Chang, asked for an extension to pay for his fighter. The deadline to pay for Nemesis is soon.
[From Kobe, Japan]
One of Kagawa's most trusted secretaries have drove down to the docks to make a deal with Delta Squad. They brought Coralyn with them after throwing a fit at the mansion. While Kagawa's secretaries tried his darndest to persuade Delta 2, the current one in command, to give them Nemesis, Coralyn looked around to sight-see. At first she just tilted her head and looked at the rows of warehouses in amusement, but then, she saw a stray mechaniloid dog looking at her from behind an alley. With the attention span of a squirrel on Red Bull, she quickly paced as much as she could with her heavy armor, towards the metallic mutt.
"Hey, come back!" Coralyn yelped as she followed the dog. It had a cute design similar to a Chow Chow puppy with it's size and shape. With the dog being faster than her, it started to enrage the childish Coralyn a little bit. She started clenching her teeth as she tried to grab it from afar. "I said come back here, or I'll tear you to pieces!" she snarled at the dog as it entered a large air-duct behind the warehouse. "Ohh... I'll get chuu" Coralyn shook her fist as she squeezed herself into the air duct. "Aha! I got chu!" she said with a large grin as she started to crawl inside the dusty air duct. The blades on her skirt scrapped the metal of the air duct behind her, tearing through the sheet metal with ease. But then the duct started to narrow. Coralyn found herself stuck and unable to move forward despite how hard she crawled through the vent. "Hmm..." she pouted her lips and thought for a second. And as if a light bulb lit up on her head, she dug both her hands into the metallic sides of the duct to get a better grip, and tried to launch herself forward. Grunting as her efforts made no result, she tried for a couple more times with the puppy in mind. "HnnnnggggGordonFreeman!" she started yelling out random things. "HnnnnnggggBanzai!" "HnnnnnnnnnnngggggFFFFFFFFFUUUUU!!!" and she finally got so pissed off that she just bursts out of the duct with her strength, as if a small explosion just happened.
"Now where fu-- Whoa" Coralyn looked around for the puppy only to see that she is inside the warehouse full of crates. It was dark and scary, sending a cold chill down her Reploid spine. Being so easily scared, Coralyn gulped but continued on. "F-For the puppy!" she said to herself to muster up some guts. She tip-toed and followed what little light there was inside the warehouse. The crates that were inside created a labyrinth-like environment. "♪ S-Somewhere out th-there. Beneath the pale moonlight. Someone's thinking of m-me and loving me tonight ♪ " she started singing to make it less scary until she makes it into a place with more light. She saw the puppy guiding her to it, and she started to move a lot faster. The puppy suddenly stopped and was looking at something. It's back was facing Coralyn and it was wagging it's tail. Thinking of glomping the puppy while it has it's back turned, Coralyn had a grin on her face as she sneaked up to the dog. But at the very moment she extended her arms and was about to jump, she was distracted by something large in front of them. Her jaw dropped as she gazed at Nemesis, who was bound in multiple chains used to hold down ships and anchors. "Whoa..." she gasped as she continued to look at this giant beast and finally added: "...Bondage gear..."

All too suddenly that changed entirely. The non-corrupted parts of the mutated self aware A.I. program detected movement close by and the monster re-booted. A flash of glowing crimson decorated spots at the chest, pelvis, knees, and hands as the running lights flickered once then stayed on. Just after, the menacing visor on the head beamed to life. Throughout the display, a faint noise akin to a booting up computer could be heard. It was very apparent that the Colossus of the Frozen North was re-animated once again!
But the metal creature didn't stir. It's world was still blurry and full of static; it took a few good seconds for the environment to come into focus behind the lens. A system-wide check was performed internally, and it revealed that all systems were repaired after the scuffle at the forest, but the power reserves were well into the red and now Nemesis was operating on emergency power. It needed to feed now if it wanted to remain functioning.
At that observation, the camera vision of the monster began to sweep the interior of the warehouse, taking in the environment and figuring out where it was, and analyzing potential food sources. The first thing of great interest that came into view was the tiny morsel of the mecha-puppy and then the oddly dressed female Reploid behind that. It was incredible luck they came by when they did. Both of these would provide an ample snack in this pinch.
The giant tried to move, and immediately there was another problem. The massive chains holding down the behemoth jingled and scraped the floor at the attempt of the motion, but ultimately they did their job and held Nemesis taut. With it's current power levels, these great weights were far too much to negotiate for the beast. It tried as best it could, its metallic muscles straining noisily, but it was to no avail. How frustrating this was! A meal right in front of it, and no means to feast.
Giving up it's physical struggle, Nemesis couldn't afford to waste much more of it's energy. It shook it's head from side to side and let out a low, screeching, guttural whine from it's vocal emitters. Lumped over, bound by chains and crying like an abused child, what was once the great Canadian terror was now reduced to a helpless mass of metal. The way the hulk gestured made it seem as if it were... sad.
Nemesis' head swiveled around slowly and locked it's optics onto a nearby crate. What was inside of it could mean the difference between life and death for the giant. If only there was a way to check what was inside...

"Hey, come here!" Coralyn hissed louder at the puppy. But the puppy faced her and barked twice. Raising her eyebrow, Coralyn understood what the puppy said as she could understand canine language for reasons unknown to her. "Uhm..." Coralyn lowered her hands and slowly began to feel at ease around Nemesis. "So... he's all out of energy?" she asked. The puppy whined and started to lead Coralyn to a large wooden crate Nemesis had his eyes on. The puppy scratched the crate's surface with it's small paws, with electric sparks bursting from them. It barked and asked Coralyn to help open the crate. Curious about the abilities she never knew she had, and a dog that wants to help a frightening beast that is low on energy, Coralyn tilted her head and wondered for a second. But thinking isn't her forte, so she did a motion with her hands similar to cracking one's knuckles and pulling one's sleeves back. "Okay, doggie. As long as you're going home with me!" she giggled and smiled gently at the dog, right before she headbutted the crate so hard that it shattered. It made a loud sound and a cloud of dust that it made the puppy cover it's eyes and whined. "Ta-da!" Coralyn smiled proudly as she demolished an old wooden crate that houses high-grade batteries. It is probably why the electric puppy was able to detect it.
"Huh?" Coralyn looked down on the puppy who just barked something at her. "Oh no..." Coralyn bit her nail when she was alerted that the Yggdrasil operators outside would have heard that noise...

Nemesis swung it's head to analyze the exchange between Coralyn and the small mecha-mut. The giant couldn't compose a thought as to why they did what they did, but it was obvious enough that they did help him. That alone was enough to put them off the menu list and onto a new declaration: allies. This was unfamiliar to the beast. Ever since it was activated and went berserk so many years ago, it has been in hiding, either underground or at natural areas in an attempt to escape retirement at the hands of the Aquilo Project operatives. This was the first time in it's existence that someone has gone out of their way to assist him (on their own free will), and it left a positive impression. His mandate to survive just got a new perimeter - protect allies.
Coralyn and the pup just got a new guardian angel. Or, perhaps a guardian devil, if that suits you better.
The giant let out a mechanical mewing noise as a thank you to the two, then turned to the batteries again. A few of them spilled out of the the crate within easy reach. This too was another lucky break. Massive anchor chains clamored as the behemoth stirred again, moving it's right arm out as much it could within it's constraints. Three of the huge talons of that hand was able to hook onto a few of the batteries. The devices were pulled closer to where the menacing mover mechaniloid could work it's dark magic.
Moving the batteries to where it's body would obscure them, Nemesis drew back to it's previous hunched position where Coralyn found it and turned off all it's running lights, including the lighting to it's visor (but sight was still functioning). Being completely still, the only hint that this creature was indeed alive was the ominous creeping of it's synthetic 'skin'. Slender black tendrils oozed from tiny pores on the giant's body and slithered down the back of the right arm to the hidden batteries, where they hastily began the power siphoning process. Turning off all it's red lighting and remaining still made the power drain that much more efficient, and also attracted less attention from anyone who would blunder into the warehouse. It was hoping that hiding the fact it was actually conscious and getting stronger wouldn't cause any visitors to react in an unwanted way.

The loud crashing noise from the inside reached the ears of the Delta squad outside of the warehouse. Delta 2 looked back at the warehouse while talking with Kagawa's secretary. "Squad, noise just came from inside the warehouse. Do a sweep and check if the hostage is secure. Over"
<Roger that, I'll send in 6 and 7. Delta 4 out>
--
[Inside...]
Panicking, Coralyn looked for a place to hide or a door to run out to. She faced Nemesis and looked at him straight in the eyes, or visor. She blinked her eyes twice and an old feeling returned to her. The puppy snapped her out of her reverie with a low bark, alerting her that the Yggdrasil operators are close by. She looked at the puppy and turned to Nemesis again, she could relate to him being imprisoned and powerless, alone and sitting in the dark. "Stay there, big guy" she said to him with sad eyes as she ran behind a crate with the puppy.
<Starting a sweep of the warehouse. Over> Delta 7 said through the comm, quietly entering the front personnel door of the warehouse. He had his weapon aimed in front of him.
<Going in from the other side> Delta 6 followed up, entering though another door behind the warehouse. Delta 6 quickly caught sight of the damaged air vent. <The air vent is ripped to shreds. We might have an intruder. Keep your eyes peeled>
<Copy that>
Using the maze of crates as cover, the two operators used stealth to check the area until they reached the middle. In there, they saw Nemesis - awake and energized yet still chained to the walls.
<The hell? Intruder is a positive. Shoot on sight>
<Proceed with caution. I'll take the suit here in custody> Delta 2 referred to the secretary, thinking he might be a distraction used by Kagawa to free Nemesis.
Once 6 and 7 reached the middle, 6 signaled 7 to back a few steps back and provide watch while 6 doses Nemesis with the nanovirus again. 7 replied with a nod, like usual. <Well, well. Woken by a nightmare?> Delta 6 slowly walked toward Nemesis with a smug tone in his voice. "Your buyer ain't here yet so I'm afraid it's sleepy time for you again" 6 stopped to take his time in loading his rifle with the nanovirus ammunition, while waiting for the "intruder" to appear.
--
Watching from the sidelines, Coralyn looked through small creases between the crates. She saw Delta 6 standing and loading his weapon. The operator's armor design triggered a memory in her mind. But the ammunition being loaded in to the weapon was also something that she had seen before. Coralyn's eyes widened a bit as she clutched the puppy tight in her arms. "What are we gonna do, puppy?" she asked while stealing a glance at Nemesis. Who seemed unable to do anything about what's about to happen. Clenching her fist, she looked at the puppy on her side with a determined expression.
--
Loading the final round into the weapon, Delta 6 lazily aimed at Nemesis' neck and slides his index finger to the trigger. <Say good night> he chuckled behind his mask.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!" a loud roar from the side distracted Delta 6. He turned to his right only to see a large crate falling towards him. Coralyn then ran her way close to Nemesis, panting, and in a protective stance. She seemed determined not to allow any harm to the beast.
<Shi--> Delta 6 managed to jump out of the way and pull out his pistol. <Intruder spotted! It's a reploid dressed in some clown outfit>
<Tango is in my sights> Delta 7 responded, locking in Coralyn in his HUD and squeezed the trigger of the submachine gun he is currently using. The SMG, with it's smaller and weaker rounds did no significant damage when it came in contact with Coralyn's tough armor. <Tango has armor. I'm gonna need a rifle round>
<Copy that. Deltas 4 and 5 are en route to your position>
<Switching to night vision> Delta 6 shook his head as his visor switched vision modes. As soon as he looked up, Coralyn's spiked ball and chain struck him from the left side, where he held his weapon, disarming him in the process. It sent the operative flying and smashing himself against more crates. Delta 7 fired from behind Nemesis, but his bullets did nothing to stop Coralyn in her Maverick state. Feeling some pain from the bullets, Coralyn slowly turned her head towards 7, and smashed Delta 6's rifle with her other flail.
<6 is down. Whatever this thing is, it has weapons that can pommel things easily>
<This is 4. 5 and I are inside the warehouse>
<Good. I'll distract this thing while you attack it from behind. I'll assist 6 while you two are at it>
<Roger. Target in sight>
<Open fire!>
<Hold!> Delta 2 intervened through the comms before 4 and 5 could squeeze the trigger. <Hold your fire!>
<We got the target in sight, Delta 2. What's the matter?>
<The reploid is the property of Takashi Kagawa. And he is right outside, along with Chang the Triad boss>

==============================================
The blitz of action in the warehouse revealed to Nemesis what it has suspected: Coralyn, and this small dog mechaniloid, are indeed allies. They put themselves well into harms way to battle the Delta Squad, the little armored demons that captured the giant, just in order to protect the monster. It didn't make a lot of sense to Nemesis, but that hardly mattered right then and there. The motives behind these saviors' actions would be figured out later.
Right now, the high-performance batteries were working wonders to restore strength to the metal monstrosity. It felt the energy surge though it's body like steroids to a junkie. The chains holding him secure wouldn't be that much of a problem anymore, but it still would require effort and time to grab hold and tear them out of the walls to flail them like whips, the likes of which may not be sufficient enough to make up for the potential of putting his new allies in more danger. For now, the giant still rested, not moving. It would continue to observe the situation, and burst into action should the Squad threaten to harm Coralyn again.
When Delta 6 brought out the nanovirus ammo and threatened to return Nemesis to it's slumber, the beast would have laughed to itself if it had a sense of humor. Unless the strain of the nanovirus was completely different then the last batch it was pumped full of at the Torpid Forest, it would have no effect on the monster. It's own virus has conjured up a anti-body to the previous strain of nanovirus since it went into it's enforced downtime, much in the same way a cold virus mutates every year to overcome it's flaws (but this virus can recover much faster then a organic compound can). Nemesis' nanobot-infused virus is super-adaptive and self-aware, able to recover from just about anything that doesn't destroy the host outright.
Of course, the beast didn't have the chance to gloat, since Coralyn came to it's assistance. But now she, too, looked to be in trouble, with the Delta Squad surrounding them. It's going be touch and go until they were free of here.

The Delta operatives inside the warehouse had their weapons aimed at Coralyn while keeping a watchful eye on Nemesis. They steadied themselves until the warehouse gates opened, the bright light from outside seeped through it, causing Coralyn to wince at the brightness. Silhouttes of men in black suits walked right in, there seemed to be two groups - Kagawa's and Chang's. They talked as the walked towards Nemesis and Coralyn's position, with Delta 2 beside them and their black-suited bodyguards with assault rifles.
"Are you that desperate for vengeance, old friend? So much that you plan on taking my only chance of redeeming my company? Remember that I helped your company get in the GBC in the first place!" Chang scorned Kagawa, who had a calm expression on his face. He looked at Nemesis without any signs of fear, but instead he looked at him as a tool of hope for his own goals.
"Call me an ingrate, but that was the past. I asked you before and I will ask you again, will you join me in taking them down?" Kagawa turned to face his old friend with a serious stare.
"If not because of the GBC I would have been a poor man years ago. They helped me get out of the hole I was stuck in, I will not turn my back on them"
"Tch... You're in a rut right now. Are they helping you? No"
"..." Chang's right eye twitched at Kagawa's words "I will get back my fortune with this machine!" Chang pointed at Nemesis. "I will win that damn tournament, and you cannot stop me. Not even your little doll of a Reploid" Chang then pointed at Coralyn, who looked confused and back on her normal mental state. Kagawa just gave Coralyn a short glance, not caring or barely even noticing that she was there.
"If that is what you want... I wish you good luck. Let's leave" Kagawa signalled his men to leave. Coralyn, still confused, looked at Nemesis with solemn eyes and took a few steps towards Kagawa. "Uhm, wait for me!" Coralyn said, with the puppy following her. She looked back at Nemesis and gave him a short wave of goodbye.
[Coralyn exits]
<That was awkward...> Delta 4 commented on the sudden quiet.
<Yeah> Delta 5 responded with a shrug. Delta 5 looked at Chang ordering his men around to prepare the move of Nemesis to the arena.
"You..." Chang talked to Nemesis. "If you fight for me and make me win this tournament. I shall tell you where to find a power source that will quench your hunger, and of course I will set you free. Nod if you agree" he said it in a friendly manner but with an obvious smugness to it. Chang showed a hologram of what looks like a giant prototype reactor.

As much as these batteries were doing their job to power him now, a reactor core would sustain him for weeks. It couldn't be decided if this little fleshbag was being honest with his claims, but if he was, it would spell out opportunity. With that much power, Nemesis would be free to sought out new avenues and perhaps stop anyone from hunting him again. But if the man is wrong and doesn't uphold his bargain, it it would only bring further torment. The giant overheard what was said about this tournament; constant fighting would be a huge drain on it's power reserves. If there wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel...
Crouching over, and practically shrugging when it saw Coralyn leaving, the mechanical monster didn't see how it would get out of this without support, so he reluctantly nodded at Chang's offer. Perhaps a way out of this will present itself later.

[Cyberdyne Industries]
Engineers were hard at work at the workshops. But they stop to glance at the sharp-dressed man walking passed them, Kagawa, all alone this time, walked to the divided room in the workshop with the label "Experimental Reploid Design", and another room with "Remote Reploid Control Unit".
"Is it ready?" Takashi entered and talked with the lead scientist.
"Yes, sir. We are on the final step in the process and are starting to add armor plating and weapons to the drones"
"Finally, some good news" Kagawa puts his hands on his pocket and walked closer to examine the finished product. With a nod of approval, he then walked to a viewing window that overlooks the manufacturing plant beneath the workshops. He smiled proudly at the sight of hundreds more drones...

=================================================
This was much better.
Dank, dark, and with open spaces, is how the lumbering giant prefers it's environment. Traversing on the relatively dry upper platforms of a deep labyrinth of underground sewer tunnels, Nemesis would have a much easier time finding solitude and escaping the cruel fangs of it's captors. There were many ways to trick the eyes and ears in these tunnels; the slick passageways would rebound light and sound akin to a bat cave, providing ample opportunity to both avoid and throw off anyone chasing him. Of course, the giant would have to be precariously careful not to let it's own presence be given away by a careless scrape of a sharp projection on a tunnel wall or a reflecting crimson glow from it's running lights. That's the very reason why it kept out of the water and turned off it's illumination. The noise of splashing liquid and the eerie glow would give too much indication to anyone who may be sharing this territory.
The trek down into this series of passages was risky enough. Timing had to be perfect in order to break free of the heavy anchor chains and escape to the nearby docks. The monster had waited for the delicate and careful task of being transported away to the arena grounds, and then took advantage of a convenient slip up in the crane hoisting him to shatter his binds and break for the sparkling river. It was only luck (and a bit of dock traffic interference) that prevented the Delta Squad from cornering Nemesis and re-snaring him. It was further chance when the behemoth took a dive and sunk to the bottom of the river, and even more when it found a drainage pipe leading from a water-treatment plant large enough that it could scurry into. It was from that drainage pipe that the tower of brute plotted it's course into the sewer network, and found itself here.
So there it was, walking through a high pass of a sewage tunnel, following some overhead power lines. While Nemesis was trying to avoid detection, it was also establishing a sense of direction by mentally configuring a digital map of the canals by keeping note of the environment features, such as path intersections, pipe valves and power junction boxes. The latter proving extremely useful in getting a quick feed of energy, once hacked into and sapped. The power lines snaking above the monster's head and the power boxes connected to them distributed power to the many buildings and city services above ground, but despite the pristine condition the gleaming city was kept in, it was doubtful a fast flicker of the lights would warrant a technician to pop underground to see what caused the brief interruptions.
A quick feed wasn't enough to slate the beast's hunger though. It well knew that these power lines must converge somewhere, hopefully to a city reactor plant. Then, the ever prodding nano-virus would have it's full in kind, and maybe, just maybe, would provide at least a temporary peace of mind.
Until that goal could be reached, the hunger drove the Jettegra prototype on, a soldier enslaved by the will of it's madness. There would be no rest, and no end to it's trials until the bells of freedom rang it's beckoning chorus....

The flash from the teleport beam didn't go unnoticed by the giant; the shimmer bounced off the slimy sewer tunnel walls and was caught in reflection around a curve in a large black tunnel a few meters behind Elzareth. Nemesis froze in it's tracks, not wanting this intruder to catch it's movement.
Who was this, and what was he after? The only plausible conclusions the monster could come to immediately is that this was a maintenance worker, or he was someone that was down here with alternate purpose. Quickly, upon further analysis, the option that this was a maintenance worker was overruled. It was unlikely that teleportation would be necessary for a worker, and even then so the location was all wrong; most likely if he was a worker he would have entered the tunnels well behind Nemesis, at one of the junction power boxes, possibly to see what the possible cause was for the cities' power fluctuations could be. No, this being was here, now, for another reason.
Perhaps he was here on behalf of the Delta Squad, or the Gang Leader who tried so hard to snare him for his own gains. Or, just as bad, he was sent by the Aquilo Project. Maybe they put two and two together and finally realized that their prototype was still functional and wanted to erase that stain from their records. This could be some high-class combat Reploid on a mission to eliminate it!
Of course, there was the chance that this was someone here with innocent intent and there was no real reason to conclude that this newcomer was a threat. But, there was the reality that he was here, and it was in all probability that he would notice Nemesis should it stir again. Cloaked by shadows and obscured by the echoing noise of the city above or no, the sound the beast made simply by walking would be detectable at this range, especially to one with sharp hearing, like a Reploid.
Instead of landing a heavy footstep, Nemesis took advantage of the slippery walkway it was on and shuffled a few feet forward to get a visual of this newcomer around the bend in the tunnel, being careful not to scrape it's foot talons on the floor. Slowly, it inched forward, and got a clean look at what's ahead. At the end of the tunnel in a wide open tunnel intersection was -as what was feared- looked like a Reploid (Elzareth). It was of apparent male model, but by looks alone it wasn't especially imposing. Certainly not comparable to the fearsome composition the Delta Squad carried.
It mattered not. This Reploid could give away the monster's position to the authorities, and from there it wouldn't be long until it was captured or hunted again. There was not much use in retreating at this point, so now the option was to stand it's ground. The Reploid, regardless of it's reasons for being there, must not be allowed to escape!
Keeping it's running lights off, Nemesis hunkered down on all fours and tensed for a charge. It waited for a loud roar of a truck thundering on the road overhead to mask the thunder of the beast's own stomp, and then made it's move.
Just as a large vehicle rumbled above, 5 tons of dark-toned metal and synthetic muscle pounced out of the black tunnel, the four-foot claws on the ends of it's hands facing ahead as if to either stab or pin the Reploid to the ground (depending the give if there's an impact). The only warning Elzareth got was the vibration in the ground as Nemesis pounded the footholds as it rounded the twist in the darkness.

Which is dangerously close according to gravity. He immediately generated a field around him and adjusted the direction of gravity; he began "falling" towards a wall, gravity high causing Elzareth to fall faster than he should. Elzareth braced himself for a large impact and hoped his insane durability withstood the hit. His eyes stayed planted in the shadows where Nemesis rushed.
