And by the time he contacted the resistance in Zero 1-3, Im pretty sure he doesnt have the materials to make a fit body for him. Not to mention the TIME to do so when theya re constantly under attack and attacking key NA areas.

X's death in Z2 only proved that X just no longer wanted to return to the fight. He was dead tired (no pun intended) of his centuries long battle. He had no intention of regaining physical form. His body's death was also of no real bother to him.

He had gained much higher powers as a cyber elf as well, with the ability to project a barrier over the entire resistance base to protect them from Dark Elf's influence.

Well, not exactly.... At least from what I understood from the storyline, They all had a game plan; X was to protect the Mother Elf (or Dark elf. Which ever you perfer), and Zero was to try and stop Elpiso from reaching X's Body... of course you know how the story went during this time. It just goes to show that Zero really couldn't save the important people after all... (Sorry... Mega Man X4 reference) At least, that's what I gathered.

The reason why the plan failed was because Zero was slown down and Elpiso had both the baby elves with him. Seriously, How could Zero prevented this?


Secondly, Ceil did create Copy X's inital body. With that said, she must still have some blueprints on his design either based of Weil's design or that of the late Thomas Light. I just don't see how they wouldn't be able to recreate X's body.

However, once again, when Ciel made Copy X's body, she was a Neo Arcadian Science prodigy, the result of genetic modifications. She worked for them, and as such, she had everything she needed at her disposal.

Now, She is a fugitive scientist on the run from the government, constantly moving around. I mean, the whole of the Zero series cannot take up more than a month, tops. possibly much less. And even when your a genius, you need time to build robots. Even Wily had time to build his robots. Ciel doesnt. she is on the move, is constantly trying to solve the energy crisis as top priority to stop what caused the conflict in the first place, and most likely doesnt have the resources to build a complicated body for X, and then re integrate his soul into it.

She does not have aces to anything Weil related, everything from the Elf wars was destroyed or hidden. I doubt theres anything left of Weils research. And the "late" Dr. Light? You kidding? Thats over about 3 or so centuries late. Light died in the Classic Era. 20XX. We dont know the nature of his hologram, and the capsules dissapear after serving their purpose.

I agree with the fact that she is pretty much a fugitive to Neo Arcadia but, she still had some kind of access to them. I also agree that X's body have taken a lot of time but she wouldn't be the only one creating X... It would have been Ceraveau (however you spell his name) and his assistant, unless you consider them more Weapon Developers... and the little brainiac kid's name... He also seems to have a good head on his shoulders. All of them could have worked on that and the Resistance fighters would have to gather the materials... but after the the first move, which was forced by the way, they never left except to help the Caravaners in Zero 4. So the rebuilding X wouldn't that much of a hassle.

I'm willing to leave the Dr. Light issues for another topic.

Keep in mind her main interest was solving the energy crisis more than anything else. If that alone wasn't time-consuming enough, I'd imagine it'd have alot to do with why she couldn't rebuild X anyways. For little while, she was leader of the resistance, correct? That means she also had more matters to to tend to than she could want.

You forgot that X was tired of the wars he fought in. He wanted to rest in peace until Zero was awakened. He helped his old partner a few times though, but he decided that Zero should continue for him, where he left off.

Now is ZX a different matter. He seems to not be tired anymore, even though he doesn't participate in the future events directly.

I'm more concerned with X having to keep the Dark Elf at bay. Furthermore, not only did he leave behind a legacy in the Big4, but a copy of himself was put in charge instead.

It WOULD make sense for Cyber X to be hanging around Yggdrasil using his power to make sure Dark Elf stays contained after he rejected revival and went off somewhere until Zero was resurrected. (AKA the in between his own sealing and Zero series)

That would be one way to look at it... but let's compare facts here... X has been fighting mavericks for a single century virtually by himself (which I know the last part is quite debatable) while Zero has been asleep for those years. After the end of Zero, and into Zero 2, Zero has only been fighting for a WHOLE year. During the Sand Wilderness Intro in Zero2, Zero clearly says and I quote "This isn't fun anymore." How in the world was X being selfish about that one wish?

Like I said, I just don't see that in X.

If anything, X might've joined the fight once more if things went a little different. for example, if he didn't die, just so the elf was freed, maybe X would have joined in the fray... kinda like he in X7.

^^ I'm going have to give Reploid-Man props here. X is an unselfish guy in my book...ya gotta dig the guy's determination for fighting over a century. And looking back at MMZ2 and that quote there sounded like Zero wanted to give up already, and he's only been fighting for a year that time? Damn!....And let's not forget X and Zero are close friends here, if Zero was in X's shoes during the Elf Wars, I'm sure Zero would of said the same thing to X in the MMZ3 ending that he was leaving to let his friend fight on the wars. It'll be like....

Zero: "Yo X spot me, can't keep doing this bro!"
X: "Aite I gotcha man, it's koo" *tags Zero out*

Okay the dialogue wouldn't be like that but you get the idea.

Also Elpizo, he maybe a cool character to some but he did lust for power which was his greatest downfall (and for some reason most villains fall into that category). He was blind by his actions, hurting those he sworn to protect i.e. Ciel, the Resistance..etc. And yeah I do admit that scene here he killed X was pretty cool and very memorable, but I was a bit sadden by X's death. To me Elpizo sounded like he got lucky to kill X, sure he may have past the Guardians, reached the Forbidden places in Neo Arcadia and blah blah blah. And it was right then and there that X was completely vulnerable, then STAB X is dead. Usually most guys who try to kill X (Vile, Sigma, Double to name a few) go out with a fight. I felt slightly bitter about Elpizo because he didn't put any effort. I expected a kickass fight between X and Eplizo. Now with so many attempts on killing X, all it takes was a simple blow to the chest with a energy sword. I wouldn't call it epic in my opinion more like...ANTI-CLIMATIC.

X only joined the fight because his body was threatened by Elpizo and all the work he put into Dark Elf's seal was about to account for nothing. Since X was still around, he would want to help stop him so it can remain as it is; Sealed and untouched. That is not how it went. X lost his body, Dark Elf Was freed. I doubt X would stand by, regardless of wanting to fight or not. Though fighting since he was activated, till his Seal, and fighting to keep Dark Elf sealed, that would wear on anyone. Would it not? X has given up much that Light wished for him in order to do what he thought was right. When he realized he didn't care any more, was the hardest part for him. It was like he was rejecting what Light intended for him. He wanted peace so he could discover himself again, and was not granted this...

Also, something to think about; what if Zero's soul was suggestively about while X was fighting alone? As if they were taking turns? Would be accounted by Zero's last quote in Z1 "But that is why we are the best of partners..." And since that hasn't been suggested within the X-Z interim, it is possible.

I dont honestly see Zero as letting X fight on for him if the roles were reversed.. Zero is a born warrior. made from day one to fight and kill things.

Zero isnt the type to idly sit back and "rest" while X fights alone. Because while X was pained by not caring for his enemies anymore, Zero doesnt have that problem, he never lets personal emotions cloud his judgement in battle. He does it for the mission. Because its his job. nothing more. So he wouldnt have had the whole meltdown X had when he realized that he became battle hardened.

Zero would do all in his power to fight WITH X, or at least not leave him alone in the fight.

X though, we all know the deal there. He wanted to rest from his eternal battle badly. a pacifist reploid, and he had been battling since day ONE.

He certainly wanted a break in Zero 2. And was basically craving for his death in Zero 4. He wanted to rest, even if it was indirectly seen. He was strong fronted, this doesn't mean he didn't wish for rest. He clearly was longing for something of a rest since after X4. Was finally at peace in X5, and was thrust back afterward. He too craved rest. Any kind. The risks of his seal didn't really bother him due to this, and thinking it was 'for the better'.

So if theres a chance that he might die for the mission, he's all for it. in X5, when he died, he seemed to have realized some of the truths behind his creation, "The one who kills reploids" (it was something like that anyway) and figured his death was for the best. in X1, he sacrificed himself for X's sake, because he believed in his potential. He even volunteers for the shuttle mission in X5, even though its almost guaranteed that he might not come back. (then theres that pilot business. When did Zero become a pilot?) Then after the Elf Wars, goes BACk to stasis, even though he no longer has his accursed original body, the virus was defeated, and his evil shadow put behind him, because he STILL believes he may pose some kind of threat. And when you think about it, being put in stasis was a BAD idea, because X might not have gotten the way he did if he had his best friend to talk to. (although even then, 10 bucks says Zero would have sealed Dark elf himself)

He doesnt want rest, he just doesnt care about death. God knows he's experienced it at least twice, (thrice if we count his state in Zero 1's beginning as dead)

ALTHOUGH- now that i think of it, in X8, he DOES have a little thought as to the matter of not having to fight anymore now that Sigma is gone. Which felt weird coming from Zero, but hey whatever.

After X4, he lost the only thing he 'wanted'. Other than wanting what X wanted. Without that, it was all what X wanted; peace. So yeah, he would strive for it. But he too wanted rest. Being suicidal also covers his lust for rest. He just wanted to go out with a bang, not a silent slumber. And death is the ultimate Rest. One X wasn't even able to live up.

All after Iris. All against Sigma. X would have piloted as well, had Zero not. We both know he would have. Also, one must put in that Zero also longs for Iris in death, which also adds to his tendencies.

Plus, just food for though, he does 'rest' when being 'repaired'. This is an X3 Zero 'death' reference.

It was rest, it was away from the world. He didn't think he would be disturbed. And still had that uncertainty that he had within his initial body. Though didn't serve much when he was force awakened. For he served without wanting to die, for he realized his trust in those whom X trusts.

I'd also assume that his X7 foreshadowing ending would also reflect heavily on his mind. He didn't want to fight X. So any alternative was a good alternative.

hmm. my wall o text was really worthless when I think about it. There was no point made and I didnt exactly bring much to argue your idea.

though i still think his idea of rest isnt the same as X's. he sees it more as removing his presence. After all, after his nightmares, killing his first and only love interest, (and her brother) the whole of X5 and its relation to him, being used to revive Sigma and make the Nightmare, His disturbing X7 dream, Sigma once again taunting Zero in X8 about how their battle made Sigma the evil mr clean he is today, (not to mention if I am interpreting his X4 discussion with Sigma right, he DOES remember his battle with Sigma and that he was a maverick,) and finally, OMEGA, whos very being is what Zero knows he was intended to be, as he learned in X5, Omega, who is his nightmare, this fear of what he may become, aaand He is more than justified in wanting to remove his presence from the face of the earth. But still, he sees it more like that IMO, rather than "resting" and he doesnt care about death either, so the decision is incredibly simple for him to make. if he dies during the mission, as long as he completes the job, thats fine by him. (Z4)

I do agree that it is the 'type' of rest that differs between the two. X wanted to sort his heart out, whereas Zero wanted to be removed. Though either way, he was just tired of living the fight. Tired of being used for misdeeds. Tired of there always being a next fight (This is what really got to X). Plus, he has his own guilt he want's to escape.
