I hear that it will still have that stealth gameplay like all MGS series but also has that the action(y) slice 'n dice like Ninja Gaiden as well. One of the weirdest combination's of gameplay I've heard so far.

Yeah, I'm getting two different feelings from both trailers, the first trailer seemed like it was gonna be blending both sneaking and action together, which I'm still interested in seeing, but now it seems to be more action and less sneaking.. which I'm disappointed about.

And since its being developed by Platinum Games, that pretty much answers my question on why the slicing is approached differently. Though my opinion, I liked how the first trailer seemed to be going personally.

Some of ya guys maybe a bit iffy about it so far, but damn this really caught my eye.

Platinum Games are known for their over the top action. The new gameplay looks very similar to Bayonetta and Anarchy Reigns; from combo kicks, sword slashing motions, throws attacks to camera zoom-in kill finishers. Kojima said there will be stealth elements in most of the missions, this trailer just shows the more action-orientated segments since it is the VGA's to catch everyone's attention. . . and off guard.

I don't know how I feel not that the original 'sneaking/action' is replaced by a Cyborg Ninja Gaiden. I mean it'll still be fun to play, but I was more intrigued by the original inception than the 'rebooted' incarnation.

A proper stealth-based game is to be on its way as well, apparently. Hence drop of 'Solid' in this one's title.

Solid was also dropped so it wouldn't be confused with the 'Solid' portion of the Metal Gear storyline.
Kojima-san is a busy man. He also mentioned that he was working on something very controversial a few years back. And has stated he doesn't want to do another MGS title (though he ends up having to yet again). So who knows if this other stealth game is full blown legit, if not some form of hint to the previously announced next Metal Gear Solid. Unless the original rumor is true to some point, in that there are 2 versions of Rising (originally PS3 and 360 were supposed to be different).

Time will tell.

I never thought of this game to be tactical espionage action in the first place, since the 2011 version of Rising had Lightning Bolt Action instead.

Needless to say, I'm excited for this title. Platinum Games made Bayonetta as well, so I'm guessing that this game will be pretty good in their hands.

Yea, people always seems to miss that factor, the game is very much cutting and slashing something that I loved about the final parts of Metal Gear Solid 2 and I for one am glad that Raiden is getting a new game.

Also this game is canon, it takes place after Raiden gains his cybernetic implants leading up to the events in four, also all games in the Metal Gear Solid franchise are canon, the only games I know of that aren't part of the canon, but exist in there own canon are the AC!D games.
