For those of you that have had the pleasure to witness the ending, or endings with each character rather, there are no doubt questions that have arisen. I know a couple have with me so I would like to discuss them a little bit to try to shine some light on things.

First of all, upon the defeat of Wily, he gets a fever. With Proto Man's ending it just seems like poetic justice and why he has a fever could be explained by him simply being in space. How he would be alive at all would be weird, but I guess they were surrounded by a glass wall or something, we'll just assume that. However with Mega Man's ending, Wily says something a bit odd and along the lines of "But...I am...a human". To me, this makes it seems that Wily may be part robotic. Perhaps he has fortified his body with robotic parts to prolong his lifespan? Is this how he lives on into the X Series? Or it could simply be a cold, but what Wily said did seem pretty...odd.

Secondly, the very last scene shows that Wily fled from the room of which he was recovering in, but he left a bounty of the medicine which would cure Roboenza. After all Wily has said and done, it boggles my mind why Wily would commit such a caring, helpful deed. I really have no explanation why except from "he just felt like it", but that would be too easy wouldn't it? Maybe Capcom just wanted to throw in a heartwarming ending?

Wily was actually already sick.

If you remember, during his world announcement he breaks off into a sneeze during his diabolical laugh.

And Wily doesn't say 'But I'm human'. Rock asks him if he has Roboenza too out of sheer naivety, to which Wily replies "I'm a human. Not a robot."

Also, Wily is more than capable of a caring, helpful act, because Wily is actually a nice guy deep down in his miserable heart.



For one thing, Wily cares about all of his robots a great deal. And the only reason he keeps trying for world conquest isn't because he's a powercrazy lunatic: He's doing it to prove he's better than Light.

This is only speculation, but then again what else could this topic be for? Maybe Wily does prolong his life and is actually Dr. Cain? Just throwing it out there...wait, I'm not an X series expert but I'm not sure if Wily is shown in the X series other than Zero's flashbacks...

..I JUST said that there was no hint of Wily being a robot whatsoever in the ending and that Mac had misread it. I even quoted Wily's line word for word. Am I invisible, or do people just really want to believe Wily has robotic parts for no reason whatsoever..?

Ah, my bad. I misunderstood. For whatever dumb reason I was thinking, "Hmmm cyborg?" and that Wily was half speaking the truth when you quoted him as in he purposefully just omitted something.

Bass' ending:

After beating 8 RM's: It shows a cutscene of Wily claiming he was behind the Roboenza virus and that Mega Man has also caught it, so no one can stop him.

After beating Wily Stage 1: Bass is running through the Fortress and suddenly collapses. He says something along the lines of "Dang, don't tell me I've caught that Roboenza virus too!". Treble then comes in and gives him a cure. Bass gets up and says something along the lines of "I'll teach that old man a lesson he'll never forget!", and dashes off.

After beating the Last Boss: Bass says to the defeated Wily something like "You just won't give up your crazy plans for world domination, will you?". Wily suddenly turns red. "Oh! You have a fever. You've caught Roboenza too?" says Bass. "Don't be ridiculous.." replies Wily. "Well, see you later then..." says Bass. After that, the rest of teh ending is the same as Rock's.

The dialogue may be a bit inaccurate, I'm just going off of memory.

How does that very idea connect him to Cain?... Cain is wholly human, and Wily died between the Classic and X series.

"Wily" is never shown in the series outside of Zero's dreams and memories, but he is certainly around. As Sigma stated, he recently acquired a new partner, an old man that knows a lot about Zero, as if he was his own father. And that's only the most obvious reference.

It easily could go either way. It could just mean that he caught the regular human flu, or it could also be that he indeed caught Roboenza as clever foreshadowing of things to come. However, as long as nothing exists to say there's something robotic about Wily, we must just go with the regular human flu.

That and he just realized how damned crappy having the flu really is.

There's no "only" reason for his desire for world conquest. A lot of matters factor in, among which a primary, but not only reason is his rivalry with Right.

Fair enough in that it's not the 'only' reason. It was, however, one of the major ones starting out. I figure nowadays it's just as much about beating Rock as it is showing up Light, amongst other things.

It doesn't. I realize in hindsight I was wrong. My explanation is I was thinking of the cutscene in MHX when Cain is on life support with that giant thing on his back as being the "robotic" factor but I should have just thought about Cain's sprite from the games instead of that cutscene.

Well some rumor's speculate that it could also be Weil though it is very unlikely it dies make partial sense Weil knows alot about Zero which is why he took his body and according to popular rumors X5 was supposed to be the final game before the Zero series. But I for one to not belive this I think it is Wily

My guess is that it was just an act of gratitude, since Mega Man and/or Proto Man ended up saving his life, when they could have easily just left him there to suffer (Proto Man even considered doing that, but it turns out that he didn't).

I said "along the lines of" because I couldn't remember right off hand exactly what he said, but essentially both wordings mean the same thing.

Ah, thanks for the reminder, Zan, about Inafune saying Wily died in the interim. Scratch the idea about prolonging his lifespan, but like Zan said also, it could be some clever foreshadowing. However it still seemed odd how he got the flu during the Roboenza break out. Seems a bit too coincidental.

As for the medicine being left, I have to agree with some posts before. It could have indeed been either gratitude or realizing how crappy having the flu is, or both. Which I guess would be Capcom showing a heartwarming ending. I think it was a nice one.

Keiji Inafune: A large amount of time has passed between the classic series and Mega Man X. Dr. Wily had died in the interim but was brought back by the virus. Dr. Wily and Weil are not the same person. It is ironic though, because Dr. Wily created Zero, and Dr. Weil used Zero, but ultimately it was a copy of Zero's original body with a different mind that defeated him.

Well, in my opinion, if its just showing something as an example, I do not think it would count as a request or distribution of any hacked material. You can post it, I'd say, if it simply doesn't contain any downloadable material. I'd like to see what you mean, at least.

You have to buy him off the DLC. I think it's 100 Wii Points. Not sure what it is on the 360 and PS3.

I have a question. Why didn't Mega/Proto get the cure when they defeated Wily in the first place? The cure was the whole reason for chasing Wily in the first place and there's no telling how much global damage was caused in the few days Wily was in the hospital. Also, exactly how does anyone miss a tower that goes to space?
