I'll start. Anyone here familiar with Sonia Belmont? Only appearing in Castlevania Legends. But was originally a design direction for a would-be Dreamcast Castlevania. Titled Castlevania Resurrection. It has had few videos leaked, a short MP3 score leak and some concept work.
Check out the missing title here.

However I do think that Bloodletting was an interim sequel between that and the official SotN sequel later released. With Richter being the Main Character again, Maria supporting and a third unnamed character (antagonist?). And from released speculation (not mine), it was supposed to be more action based. So an action precursor to SotN. Most likely not with weapon alternatives.

Anyway, anyone here play Super Castlevania 4? I got it off the virtual console months ago, and beat it yesterday. and I have a few things to say about this.
Now, not knowing much of it when I bought it, I didn't exactly know what to expect, but I gotta say using the whip in eight directions was great, since playing other Castlevania's before playing this one I had already gotten used to just whipping in one direction. but what I wanted to mention was the theme of the game, now to be honest most of music in the game I couldn't really get into, (they are still great songs) But I had always thought "it would be interesting if the music in the games, got a lot darker and gives you this feel that you are entering your worst nightmare"
I think this game really got that feel, especially the opening, its just intimidating, and some of the other songs give you that feel (at least it did for me) but I think that, is what makes the music in the game different from most of them (except for SOTN)
(..I just realized how every post I make seems like one huge review, I apologize if it is long to read)

The 2d "Metroidvania" games such as Symphony of The Night, Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, etc are all beautiful but mainly keep that classy elegant feeling for the castle itself. The fact that they usually have orchestral music helps.
Super Castlevania 4, however had a lot of dark and creepy tunes. The instruments used in the songs really added to it! Even though the game has it's fair share of "classy" areas such as the entrance halls and the library, even those seem drab, pale and spooky. I love it in a totally different way then I love the other games. It is definitely different, but not bad by any means.
Also, I miss how Slogra and Gaibon were such badasses in that game.
