Kate arrived back at the base from her long "vacation." Although she had fun and whatnot, there was evil out there and she was the target of said evil. Not wanting to stay out in harm's way more than necessary, she strode up to the main gate and said to the gate operator:
"My name is Kate Dering, and I'm here to return to my lodgings."
Hoping that the gate operator wouldn't just turn her away because of her appearance, she waited patiently. A few minutes later, however, the operator replied, "Thank you for waiting, Miss Kate Dering. You may enter."
Apparently the operator had taken the time to look her up in the system.
Kate entered the base and went to her room to gather her belongings. This is going to be a long adventure, and I'd best be prepared, she thought as she made her way to the [DORMITORY].

Maybe I oughta get out of here...it seems it could take a bit of time before the Hunters try to contact me on anything...if they contact me at all...

A streak of gold light shot from the sky and crashed nonchalantly to the ground outside the Maverick Hunter HQ premises. It materialized into a crimson-haired, gold-clad Reploid. Helios had forgotten to get a lock on the public transport station, but he figured it'd be a little tougher to access under the circumstances. He adjusted his cloak and dusted it off a bit; he had forgotten to replace it since the fight in Giga City. Perhaps he was somewhat presentable. Not that it probably mattered under the circumstances.
Helios took a step forward, and repeated the mundane process. He made his way forward towards the doors...
