Or gold, even. Whatever it may be, this commemorative statue is pure silver (figuratively speaking). It's a pretty cool action shot of the classic Rock and our man, X. Two that surely symbolize such a silver age. This statue was first teased in March at PAX East and is nearing its final stages of refining. I personally could live without that rather odd looking muzzle flare, but it's no biggy.

The reason why X is also included is because it just so happens the X Series' 20th Anniversary is this coming December! So the statue is a representation of both the blue boy's anniversaries, which is a lovely gesture. More information will be shared soon enough, and it is confirmed that it will be at the SDCC in July. Not to worry if you wont be there, as the statue will also be distributed in the Capcom Store. Pre-orders will probably open soon. Will you be getting one?

New Survey for New D-Arts!

A lot of you may know by now that with the recent April Fools trickery, people have been a bit antsy over the four potential characters slated for the D-Arts treatment. While as seen below in a previous article, Ultimate Armor X was revealed as the actual figure in production and while people were excited and happy, they were left with a feeling of disappointment.

Some wanted to finally see a figure of Iris, some wanted to see what a D-Arts version of Roll would look like, as well as a Zero Series Zero. Due to this, one can only assume that's why another poll from Capcom Japan has opened up in which to select what lucky character gets their likeness immortalized in D-Arts goodness.

There's quite a selection to choose from too. We have a total of 24 characters, including said characters above. You may select three of them. Would you like a D-Arts Mega Man Volnutt? Maybe Giga Armor X to pose with the already awesome "Light/First" Armor? How about Proto Man, or even a Hitoshi Ariga styled Mega Man (very tempting)? There's also a selection for Vile's Ride Armor, as well as more minor characters like Eddie and Beat, which if you ask me, should be included with a potential Proto Man release. Lastly, we have a selection for Axl, who surely needs some attention. Who doesn't want to complete their "trinity"?

Of course, there are more selections than those mentioned. So what are ya waitin' for? Let your voice be heard! It's what X9.com is all about! (should be my catch phrase or something lol)

Well, it's now been officially revealed as a forthcoming Figuarts ZERO figure in Bandai/Tamashii Nation's assembly of awesome figures. As a ZERO figure however, Sigma has no articulation. He's simply a statue, and that's jim dandy. The seven inch beaut brute will be available for purchase sometime in September/October for $58. Pre-orders should be coming soon! Needless to say, I'm sure our Lord Sigma is reveling, or basking rather, in his own glory.
Ultimate Armor X D-Arts Revealed!

Tamashii Nations have lifted the curtain on the aforementioned Ultimate Armor X D-Arts figure; the true candidate in the selection of four possible figures in the recent April Fools ruse. I have to say, it's a gorgeous figure. The page estimates an August release in Japan. There will no doubt be a "Mega Man" version to follow. So...who's going to own one? ;)

Maverick Hunter: The X Series FPS

Well this is rather unexpected, isn't it? I love surprises.

You know, I've always thought a Mega Man FPS would work if done right. Perhaps starring Axl, playing through his origins. Or maybe just a typical spin-off or side story. I never would have believed one was actually in development.

Back in 2010, Armature Studio, comprised of talent behind "Metroid Prime", began work on such a game. The game would have in essence been a re-imagining/reboot of the X Series and be given a techno look and feel very reminiscent of Vanquish (great game). Although I can't help but feel similar vibes of Bomberman: Act Zero and even the ill-fated, next-gen Vector Man (though X kinda resembles a Pantheon from the Zero Series). Designs would have also bee provided by Adi Granov, who worked on the Iron Man film series.

The team behind Metroid Prime developed quite the game and many would agree that they succeeded in Samus' foray into the first-person fray. Would this have worked for X? Would it retain elements of the X games we know and love? Would the storyline have worked? It better have, as the game was to become a trilogy. But would they have become just another FPS in a sea of the genre? Decide for yourself by reading this extensive article about the unearthed project provided by gaming site, Polygon. It's pretty much everything you need to know, plus some in-game footage.

What do you think?
In case you haven't yet seen the thread on our forums, I present to you a rising project by our very own Vérité/The Operator. It's a fan made, voice acting-oriented project in the same vein as drama tracks for Mega Man Zero, surrounding the mysterious events of the Elf Wars. "If this does grow popular enough to gain a small fanbase, we shall continue to make more tracks", says Vérité.

Auditions are also still being accepted for the roles listed, as well as extras. So far, it sounds like it's coming along great. From what I've heard of the voice acting, it's pretty top notch. I myself hope to gain a spot along the esteemed cast. We'll see! He's also in need of sound creators and people looking for new creative endeavors in general.
Contest Hiatus, Site Status

Okay, everyone. I feel it's about time something is said about the contest, and moreover, about the site itself. It's been approximately three months since the previous round of the Sigma Body Contest ended and I figured the final round would commence after new years. It's a very small round, but with some very big contenders. Well, time never stops ticking and we've wound up presenting a bad impression yet again concerning contests. The first couple of contests turned out great, but no one can deny the downward slope. For this, I apologize.

Though it's not just the contests. As modest and focused as MegaManX9.com is in its subject and execution, an overall bad impression has still been made in its neglect. Graphics and designs unchanged, banners and sliders inconsistent, ideas and additions, no matter how big or small, unimplemented. I've actually made a nice bracket for the contest with a side button to link it, and banners for holidays and things of that nature. Though for one reason or another, circumstances arise and they've gone unused. I suppose you may call it "life", even though I don't believe it's an entirely valid excuse, it is what it is. But it's more than that.

I can't speak for any of the other staff who may be inactive, but in the past few months, close to a year, Jeff and I have been focusing on IT certifications and career projections, maybe some college blended in. Not to mention other unavoidable events or personal matters. I'm unsure about Jeff, but I've still pondered ideas for the site. During that time however, priorities shifted and things for the site kept being pushed to back burners. As a result, we have a website which has been around for a little over four years now on life support...but is it dying?

This website's name may be MegaManX9.com, and this cluster of organized data on the internet may contain media pertaining to Mega Man, but the sole purpose and reason for this site's very existence...is you. MMX9.com was conceptualized as a typical petition website, but evolved into an idea of a community, with each member standing as a tally. All the while sharing their love for Mega Man, their ideas and desires for a future X9, and so much more. Way more than a simple name and number in a list. Without you, this website would already be deceased, no matter how pampered or unkempt. Which is why there's an underlying guilt on how this website is being treated as of late.

Our mission was to strive in interactivity. An almost tangible experience every member could get behind if they so chose. Ways to excite those who want more of the series they love, to kindle the interest of newcomers, and to ultimately light a fire under Capcom and stand as a bright beacon to prove "we want X9!" I feel we surely succeeded, and at times, I feel we could have done more. I'm not sure if it was because of our limitations on what we could effectively do, or more of actually having the time or drive to do it. Honestly, it's probably a bit of each...but again, is the site dying?

It may have become stagnant, but no. I don't think so. As long as this site has an ever growing amount of members, it will live. By nature, they are the site's lifeblood. You are what keeps it going. So it comes down to what's behind the curtain. What's the future of MegaManX9.com on a higher level? As of now, it is uncertain, but it's not going anywhere anytime soon. The pending contest shall conclude, changes will come, and hopefully things will be put into motion. Feel free to share your comments, questions, or suggestions. Time can be healing, yet harsh. Just know that [Click]!
This is what I like to call clever. Ingenious, really. Designed by David Jones, these are Mega Man X Life Bar themed candy dispensers! It would be great if Pez or another candy company picked this up. I know I'd buy both in a heart beat. With a fairly simple concept, I'm sure more variations could be made such as Vile or Sigma versions. As long as there's a unique life bar symbol, I 'spose!
Heh, heh, heh. Ahhh yeah. Salivate, everyone. Behold this awesome model of yours truly made by the renowned "Jin Saotome". From what I've been told, this Jin Saotome guy is quite a masterful custom figure maker. He's made tons of different figures using parts from a variety of other figures, usually adopting styles of Marvel and GI Joe figures and modifying everything to his liking. He's apparently created a few Mega Man characters in the past, but as far as I can tell, he definitely got my good side. Seriously, folks. This is an awesome work of art!

If you'd like to see more of...me, heh heh, head on over to my page on Jin's website here.
