In numerous interviews conducted with Capcom representatives regarding other Mega Man revivals in the wake of Mega Man 9's release, other titles such as Mega Man X9 and Mega Man Legends 3 are mentioned. In all of the interviews, whenever someone asks about the possibility of a Mega Man X9, Capcom almost always responds by saying that if they see enough fan demand and passion, we might see such a game. Just to quote one of those interviews...
Ryan Scott (1UP) - "Will we ever be lucky enough to get a Mega Man X9 -- but with Super NES era graphics and music?"
Hironobu Takeshita (Producer of Mega Man 9) - "It all depends on fans' demand! We might see that day, as long as there is passion!"
MegaManX9.com was made to be a gathering place for faithful fans of the Mega Man X series to show Capcom that the passion does indeed exist. We, as a community, can project our passion and appreciation for the X series, and Mega Man in general, to hopefully persuade Capcom to one day reciprocate. They might be leery of the sales of the X series due to Maverick Hunter X and other more recent titles, but we believe that if they released a downloadable X title, like Mega Man 9 and 10, it would garner fantastic sales. After all, who wants to pay $50+ for a game you can beat in two hours? A downloadable title would not only be a lot cheaper and convenient for the consumer, but for Capcom as well. However, if they were so inclined so go the distance and develop a full blown console release with greater length and depth, then by all means, we'd welcome that with open arms!
After X8 there were many questions left unanswered, even some from prior installments. Will we ever know...
Will Axl be taken over by the purple shard left from Lumine's attack?
Will such lead to Axl becoming the true "child" of Sigma?
Is Sigma truly defeated for good?
Will Zero finally be left to his awaited slumber?
What is to become of X's "Elysium" ideal?
When will the Elf Wars begin?
...and those are just some among the many others scattered about the storyline. The only way that they might be answered is by the desire of the fans in hopes that another game will be made.
That being said, we hope that MegaManX9.com will act as a beacon for all X fans to come together and light the way for another epic sequel. As this site continues forth as a place for fans of all kinds, we hope it will also be a place of proof that the passion hasn't died.
